I started my dog (4yr old 100 lb mix breed) on this food because of her awful skin and coat (flaking dull) additionally she has had some issues with gas and vomiting with other foods. We went through several foods but this was the first food that she tolerated incredibly well even noticed a difference in stool. Skin and coat improved with the first bag, more noticeable with longer use.

I bought about 5 bags of this for my three dogs of different breeds. They all had started having sensitivities to varying degrees. In the beginning this food seemed to help. Then it changedā¦.my poor weim, lab, and Springer all started having issues. I stopped feeding this to them and they started to clear up. I tried again with a new bag just in caseā¦same thing. Itchy, licking paws, red inflamed bottoms, hives, red noses!!! Itās so much better now that weāve stopped. Iām making their food now. This stinks!!!!

This food is a game changer for pups with skin conditions and my dog loves it. She was looking ruff and loosing hair from itching but now, after eating this food a little over a month, her coat is back and skin is no longer red. We will not buy any other food from now on. Thanks HSD from me and my beautiful pup.
We replaced another name brand with this food after one of our dogs got very sick. Our vet clinic never really pinpointed the cause. However, one guess was bad food. We almost lost the dog. We switched and there have been no other problems.Guess the down side is the extreme expense! We are searching for coupons and every break on it we can get!
2 years ago, we adopted a 7 year old plotthound. For a year we fed her Iams and her stomach was fine. However, last August we noticed she started having random bouts of bloody diarrhea, not wanting to eat, and a grumbly tummy. After lots of testing and miserable weeks for her being sick on and off, the vet said she probably had IBS caused by a combination of anxiety and an aging stomach. We tried several special foods, each for about 6 weeks as our vet recommended so her body could adjust. None worked. In December, her gastrointestinal health was the worst it had ever been, she was sick almost every other day. We could not give her any treats except plain boiled chicken because treats upset her stomach. We switched her to this food. It took almost a month to see slight improvement, and another 2 months for her "bad tummy days" to decrease to only 1 time every week or two (which is why it's so important to keep your dog on one type of food for a month or so before you decide if it's working or not). It is now a year later, and she is doing AMAZING. Her stomach is great, she eats every day eagerly, and LOVES dinner time. Her coat is so shiny (her skin has always been fine, but this food made it even better). We can give her all kinds of treats now without issue, and her "bad tummy days" only happen once every few months, usually after something makes her really anxious like extended traveling. Her **** is solid and never bloody. She did gain a bit of weight on this food (went from 75 to 82) but we decreased her amount by a tiny bit and she lost the weight back off within about a month. This food is a little pricey, but Hill's is really quality food and if your dog is having stomach troubles, give it a try! It's been a godsend for us and our Bailey.
I usually purchase Hill's Science Diet. It seems to one of the dry dog foods that is safe to feed our pets. I recently tried the dry food for sensitive stomach. The hot weather seems to have affected their appetites. So far, so good.
I love this line of food from Hills. I decided to try the "Adult" formula after 1 of our dogs had a high/normal creatinine level just to lighten the work for their kidneys. They both have very sensitive stomachs, nothing clinical in their bloodwork.. I started with a 4lb bag because I was unsure how they would do & didn't want to switch too quickly. By the 3rd day they were up to 50/50 old & new kibble & they LOVE it! I then ordered this large breed bag & they act like I'm giving them treats! I just wish it came in a smaller bag because 30lbs is tough to deal with. Absolutely NO tummy troubles at all. ! also add a big spoonful of the SS&S Turkey stew so they have a little "gravy". Very pleased with this line of food. Thank you Petco & Hills!
I started my three dogs on this about a year ago. One is more sensitive than the others. It helped in the beginning. The last three bags have made all three of my dogs welt, itch, red rear, and lick their paws! I take them off of it and cook their food with limited ingredients and only after a few days they are substantially better! Something has changed in their recipie. This is hurting my dogs! Three breeds/sized/aged dogs all react to this immediately!!!!!!!!! Don't waste your money. Don't risk your dog's health on this!
We bought this for our 2 yr old Pitbull/Pyrenees mix. Were previously giving him Taste of the Wild Bison/Venison mix. He had giant patches of dead skin that would bleed from scratching at them, had small bald patches and his dandruff was terrible. Heās been on Hillās sensitive stomach/skin for about a month and a half now and the results are incredible. His fur has grown back, zero dandruff, less shedding and the patches of dry skin are pretty much healed. Weāre giving our 8 month old pitbull the Hillās large breed puppy food and it has helped improve his dandruff significantly. He also isnāt scratching at himself as often as he use to. Definitely recommend!
