I originally had my new puppy on Wellness Complete Health Grain Free Puppy dry food which I thought was a much better quality food than the Pedigree one she was on prior. However, I noticed that her poop was not always consistent. It would often be very wet and not solid. So, I started to do some research online and found that grain free was actually found to cause heart disease in some cases and decided I was going to change her food. As I continued my research, I found that multiple websites and even vets recommended Hills Science so I decided to give it a try. Not only does she seem to love the smaller kibbles, she has been pooping solid consistently every time since! Was pups first type if hard/crunchy food. My pup loved it but we noticed he didn't get all the nutrition he needed. Wr bought powder to get him where he neededbto be. He grew out of the puppy food and has now changed to something else's. This was his only food he ate for the first year of his life as he didnt like any other brand we bought. He's a chocolate Labrador. This product may and my not be best. Some dogs don't get enough nutrition from this product if you notice this happening then please feed your dog something different.

I got the Hill's Science Diet - Hill's Science Diet Puppy Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Recipe Dry Dog Food for my new puppy. She is amazing energetic and I wanted to make sure she was getting what she needed nutritionally. I did a lot of research and although it is a bit pricier than the average dog food, it is 100% worth it. When I compared ingredients, Hill's always came out on top and made every extra cent I spent worth it! It really is scientifically formulated for what she needs and she just loves the flavor, so does my older dog too as she sneaks it out of the puppy's bowl. LOL. I am honestly beyond happy with this food and plan on continuing Hill's as my choice as both her and my elder dog grow.

Decent, but not the best

When we got our dog, she was 6 months old. I bought this puppy food because Hill's is a reputable brand. We had great results from their prescription dog food, so I trusted their non-rx food. I wasn't fond of what seems to be a lot of filler ingredients, but it's not horrible. There aren't any artificial or chemical ingredients, and they carefully source the ingredients they get. So I trust that when feeding this brand, it's not going to harm my pet. This particular variety is decent, and a good choice if you need a standard puppy food that won't break the bank, but also will be nutritionally stable. My pup loved it, but she's not an overly picky eater most times. But there's better.

This brand gave my puppy bloody diahrea and made him vomit twice. At first I was SO worried it was parvo, however after tests the Vet even assured me it was the food. Science Diet is a terrible brand according to my vet and multiple sources online. They do not make quality and if you care about your dog you’ll pay the extra money for good food. I mean you eat “good” I’m sure, pay the extra money and get better food. I did a bland diet (rice and boiled hamburger), forced pedialyte down his throat, and gave him pepto to calm his bad diahrea and he just came around 2 days ago. Again, the bland diet was the third thing my vet wanted to try and further proves that it was Science Diet causing my puppy to be sick. Again, the bland diet was the third thing my vet wanted to try and further proves that it was Science Diet causing my puppy to be sick. Once we fasted it out of his system with the bland diet he returned to normal and I am now trying Taste of the Wild with AMAZING results. He has HARD poops now, solid, and doesn’t seem sick at all. He runs around now and is a WAY happier puppy. Drinking water all on his own and is looking great.. now, perhaps my puppy simply didn’t react to this brand and yours will, but would you really take the risk? I don’t get paid to talk about Taste of the Wild or put up this review but I’m doing it so you can hear the torture I had to go through and the fear I had for days that I was gonna lose my puppy. Check out taste of the Wild, it’s really not that much more and honestly it’s made me so happy seeing him happy and running around playing. I know I made the right choice for my pup and I hope you do too!Cheers y’all,Ben

My little girl devoured her meal
15 October 2023

My Dalmatian puppy is 4 months old. She’s growing so quickly. She loves this food. I had to get her a slow feed bowl to slow her down as she was so excited about it. My adult dogs try to steal from her too. I love it because it doesn’t smell horrible. Paisley always burps after she eats and I’m so glad the burps aren’t horrifying. I love all the ingredients and knowing that she is completely safe to eat this food. I want my baby girl happy and healthy. This food does that for her.

New Formula No Good
26 July 2023

My pup has been eating this puppy food, since we brought him home at 8 weeks old. I had to buy a new bag two days ago, as we'd ran out, so I went to our local Petco and picked up a bag, but noticed that the bag looked different. The markings on the bag used to be red, they are no green. Where the bag used to be 30lbs, it is now 27.5 (still same price of course). It was notated on the front of the bag "new and improved formula". My dog ate out the new bag for the first time yesterday. This morning, when I went to let him out of his crate, he had poo'd all over. When he did go outside to finish his business, his poo was not solid AT ALL. He has since had another accident in his crate and has been whining off and on all day. He has since had another accident in his crate and has been whining off and on all day. The only thing I can think that would have caused this upset is the new bag of dog food. Sadly, I will be switching to a new brand. I've trusted Science Diet for my cat's nutrition for years and thought I could do the same with my puppy, but this new formula has not faired well with my pup. What a shame, as I just bought as now the new bag will likely go to waste, I wouldn't wish this on another pup.

New Formula=Upset puppy tummy
29 August 2023

We have been feeding our puppy this brand and recipe for a little over a month after switching back to Science Diet due to intolerance to other food. However, after the new reformulation that we were not made aware of, we spent a week trying to control her diarrhea along with medication from the vet. We continued to mix the kibble with a gastro intestinal wet food for a few days and she seems to be tolerating the new formula OK now. I wish Science Diet would leave a good thing alone as they should know puppy tummies are sensitive and their biome is growing. I would switch again, but need to wait this out. If you are used to the old formula, be prepared to have potential stomach/digestion issues in your pup.

Yummy puppy food

Hill's Science Diet Puppy Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Recipe is a top-notch choice for growing pups. The quality ingredients, like lamb meal and brown rice, ensure a well-balanced diet for optimal development. The kibble size is perfect for little mouths, and the taste seems to be a hit with even the pickiest eaters. What sets it apart is its focus on overall health – from immune support to healthy brain and eye development. It's free from artificial additives and prioritizes natural nutrition. Plus, it's easy on sensitive stomachs. As a pet parent, I appreciate the trustworthiness of the Hill's Science Diet brand, making this dry dog food a wise investment for my puppy's well-being.
