The grey blends in well. It fits into the same hole housing as the previous model. Good to see the week plastic pivot joints on the previous previous older model have been redesigned. I expect the hoist will last longer. Great for large King size sheets etc.

The installation instructions were quite good and easy to follow. This clothesline replaces another very much older Hills clothesline and I hope I get 40 years out of this one.

I bought this to replace our old Hills clothesline that had served us well for 30 years. The hardest part to installing it is digging the 600mm deep hole. Once that is done the rest of the set up is easy. Cement the ground socket in, ensuring it is level, and insert the clothesline. Instructions are clear and easy to follow and, once it's up, the clothesline is strong and well made. The Hills quality shows. It should be noted that, whilst there is more hanging space on this line compared to our old one - 7 lines compared to 5 - and they are fairly close together but the washing still dries well. Also the medium size will just fit Queen size sheets so if you have King size sheets you will be better off getting the larger clothesline that Hills make.

Excellent easy replacement for previous rotary hoist. Needed to replace previous line of different brand, which was not as good quality. Fitted perfectly into existing ground socket. All set up in under 10 minutes. Only tricky part was taking a bit of time to open the hoist until I noticed the line retainer holding it together. My bad!
The BEST thing about this is that the clothes line shaft/tube slotted straight into our old Hills Hoist mount, that was securely concreted in 10 years ago.My fear was that I would have to dig out 20kg of concrete, and re do a whole new mount. Not so.The only thing I used from the old Hills mounting tube, was the slide over collar, that locks the clothesline tube, into the ground tube. The new one is different, and has a thread.I just removed the sliding collar from the old clothesline tube or base, slid it onto the new tube, inserted the pin & 2 O rings, and the whole thing slid perfectly into our 10 year old ground tube. The collar slid down, and wedged into place perfectly. What a massive relief this was, as I thought for sure in 10 years the mount would ... MoreThe BEST thing about this is that the clothes line shaft/tube slotted straight into our old Hills Hoist mount, that was securely concreted in 10 years ago.My fear was that I would have to dig out 20kg of concrete, and re do a whole new mount. What a massive relief this was, as I thought for sure in 10 years the mount would have changed.Congratulations & well done to Hills for leaving the mount the same. The clothes line is so silky smooth to fold & unfold, and turn, its a pleasure to hang out clothes again :-)My 1 and ONLY criticism, is that the winding handle can not be removed, or fold flat. The mower catches the handle every time.
I replaced my old Hills Hoist with this one. Old housing did not exactly match new cloths line so some modifications had to be made which I hadn’t expected. It’s in now and still a great product.
Rubbish when you are someone who has to stand stationary due to a disability to put the clothes on a line. If you try to turn the clothesline so you can put clothes on it, it either moves further on, or moves back to where it was. It doesn't stay where you want it to, making it a never ending battle to try and hang clothes. Dangerous for those in risk of falling.
Fairly easy to setup and get using. I had a broken one that wouldn’t click in but the replacement was a breeze. I absolutely love it! It is very pretty and holds about 4 loads of washing easily. You do need a step ladder to slide the top part into the bottom.
This was purchased to replace a 22 year old similar product and was easily installed. It holds king sized bedding perfectly so less creases. Only drawback has been that it will not remain in the closed position without fastening with the seemingly rather flimsy tie attached. Otherwise quite happy.
Was surprised the handle was so close to the ground, I am short and still bent over to reach handle, needed 2 spacers to bring up to height. Lines are very close together. Easy enough to install. Push button I was able to work. Miss stability of original hoist, wire and frame.
