My sons Black American Short Hair cat is absolutely gluten free, dairy free as hipster as that may sound. I will spare the details about his years with digestive daily blowouts. Also he lost one of his canine teeth, I can only figure from malnutrition, because his food went right through him. Once I researched and figured out the right food for him, (yes me, not the vet) I convinced the vet to write a prescription for d/d. It was life changing for him. His digestion is extremely healthy and no more smelly sick cat. He is so much healthier and happier and we are certainly much happier.

I have a cat that I rescued from my backyard who is allergic to just about everything and was scratching & chewing, losing big clumps of fur with raw spots on her skin. After extensive testing and other food trials, she now eats only Hill's venison/pea kibble like it's going off the shelves! And, with half a prednisolone tablet every other day, she's fine and has a lovely glossy coat. I didn't even have to merge it into her former cat food - I put down a small bowl and she ate it - looked for more. Because she can't have other snacks, I carry a small bottle of kibble in my pocket so that i have a good "treat" with which to reward her. She actually comes running if I shake the bottle or if she sees my hand going into my pocket. You have a good product!

My fussy cat enjoys these biscuits and it has prevented her skin allergies from coming back which I am very grateful for. My only problem is that in the last year it is ALWAYS out of stock which is inconvenient especially when even my local pet shop has run out too. Seems to be limited supply atm -very frustrating.

One of my two cats has IBD so we're in the process of finding foods that both of my cats will eat. The cat that does not have IBD was willing to sample this food, though she pretty quickly threw it up. The kitty with IBD won't even go near it. I think I just have picky eaters, there's nothing wrong with the food itself. The food seems to be good quality and more moist than most other dry foods I've purchased in the past. If your cat has digestion issues, this is worth a try. I wish I could get a sample because I have no idea what to do with the rest of the (expensive) bag! I had the same problem with the duck version of the d/d dry food.
This was recommended by my vet a few years ago for my boy who has IBS but although he likes it, it hasn't changed his diarrhoea problem. I have 4 cats and no others eat it, and is tricky to feed each a different diet. Also they "improved" the formula a while ago and my boy doesn't like it as much now, so am discontinuing it's use now especially as it's extremely expensive.
Our poor cat Benjamin has always had issues with not keeping his food down. (We found him as a stray and have no clue about the first couple of years of his life.) In the last month, it became ridiculous. He was throwing up at least once a day. Our vet had been recommending many things before a diet change, such as the flat bowl to spread out his food, nothing seemed to alleviate his problem. She finally diagnosed him with irritable bowel and recommended a novel protein diet. We decided on d/d and so far, so good! Benjamin has been happily eating with no issues. In addition, he's super energetic and looks great. Such a relief.
My cat enjoys this food, and it does not aggravate her allergy to chicken. Petco's availability and shipping speed are excellent -- I've set up the auto-ship! Thank you!
One male cat has had issues with blood in stool, and we have tried several of your Prescription Diets. One vet school recommended any food that was wild in nature since cats are feral by nature, so that's how we got to venison/green pea. My cats don't rush to their dishes for the wet food, but the dry food seems to appeal to them more. They drink more water with this food. However, the stool is formed with this food and only occasionally is there a trace of blood. Wish there were more flavors to choose from. I am transitioning the wet duck flavor in with the venison which seems to be more palatable. Regular Hills Diet prices are high as cat foods go, but the cost is even steeper for Prescription Diet when budgets are tight.
Absolutely refused out right to eat this food! $50 wasted and given to a friends cat who also refused to eat! it Luckily they don't mind the biome kind and are happily eating that type
Over the past 20 years, my vet has prescribed Hill's Prescription Diet for different cats and different issues; this includes cd, w/d - and most recently, d/d. Each product addresses a problem and then seemingly creates another. Would I recommend to a friend? Hardly. $8/pound vs $2.5 per pound when compared to sister product Hill's Science Diet "Adult Sensitive Stomach and Skin." There are a few more vitamins but not enough to justify 3xs the price.
