She quite enjoys this, and so does her brother, who doesn’t need a special diet. I couldn’t keep the little guy out of this wet food if I tried. It’s expensive to feed them both this food, but it’s cheaper than taking her back to the vet ER.I only wish there was an option with better ingredients, especially for the insanely high price. I despise feeding them cheap animal byproducts, grains, and thickeners. I will say that she is extremely picky and her issues have improved, so it deserves all four stars. I recommend it and the dry food grudgingly. Five stars because she will eat it, three stars for ingredients.

Expensive but works
27 December 2023

Cat was giving a prescription for this food due to a suspicion for cystitis. He had been peeing outside the litter box and labs revealed no UTI or metabolic issues. Food was pretty pricey--I added a lot to my cart due to Chewy's 40% a new autoship. My biggest gripe, aside from cost: Only one flavor is available. My cats much prefer fish. Due to this, I had to keep mixing in the old cans of food I was giving him until he started to eat this on his own. About a week. Sad waste of cans. All that said, on the week he was was eating the food, he went 5 days without incident. And I think he had the incident because I did not scoop the litter box fast enough due to holiday preparation. But yeah can definitely recommend for cats with similar issues.

Great Preventive Diet
4 December 2023

I switched both of my cats to Hill's c/d after my four-year-old male had a urethral obstruction. We caught the obstruction very early and the vet was able to get him taken care of with little issue. They recommended that I switch to the c/d diet as a preventive measure, and my boy has been healthy and happy ever since. I use this and the corresponding dry food.My boy is very picky when it comes to wet food. This is actually one of the few wet foods he will eat at all, and it’s certainly the one he likes best—which is great considering he’s the reason I buy it. I love that he is getting extra moisture in his diet and that he seems to truly enjoy the food, as he will need to eat it for the rest of his life. Hard clumps of dark matter

My cat will eat this ONLY if I take my finger and press down every single bit of it, smashing down the pieces of hard dark gritty matter in it. I don’t know what this substance is, but if my cat gets one in his mouth, he will walk away from his bowl and not eat any more. There are also small flat pieces of light colored rubbery things in it occasionally, which I assume is chicken skin. I have to pull those out as well, because if he gets one of those in his mouth, he rejects the rest of the food. As expensive as this food is, I sure wish it was manufactured a lot better, especially since this is the only choice I have to feed my cat wet food. Not only is it more expensive, I have to pick out every piece of carrot. My cat refuses to eat the carrots, and again, if he gets one on his mouth, he rejects the rest. I mean, seriously, whoever heard of a cat eating carrots. Cats don’t eat carrots in the wild. Cat food companies only put them in to make it look appealing to us humans. But we aren’t the ones eating it, so stop it Hills!

It looks well made, but no cat will touch it.

I need one of my cats on this urinary prescription diet for urine crystals. She will apparently eat any other brand except Hills. I tried it with my other six cats. Not one will touch it. I even tried it with the fortiflora sprinkled on top which they normally all find irresistible. They resisted. I remember in the past, my cats not liking regular Hills food. Taking this gamble on the prescription variety, and even when she has no other food option besides prescription dry food, still does not pass the smell test for my cat... nor for my other cats. Even my pickiest cat will eat the Royal canin urinary SO wet food, and they are all munching down the ProPlan urinary st/ox dry food. Type of Prescription Food my cat needed, he always seemed to enjoy this flavor
19 September 2024

When my cat needed this type of prescription food, this was the only flavor he would eat. It helped resolve his Urinary problems that caused him to pee outside the litter box and on some furniture. He never had any further Urinary problems after I switched his diet to this type of food. so I highly recommend it. But it is necessary to have the vet write a prescription for it that needs to be renewed once a year and most vets will require that the cat is seen before they will renew it. When you go to your vet, have them write the prescription for both types of this prescription food, regular and stress formula because they don't always have them in stock and this will allow you to interchange between the two without Chewy having to contact the vet for an extra approval. UTI diet for male cat
27 November 2022

For 2 months I stressed about my cats health when he got back to back UTIs, finally finding out what kind of UTI infection, my vet suggested C/D catfood to dissolve the crystals and prevent it from occurring again. I had heard about Chewy, and figured I would try them. They were awesome with the whole process from signing up for the first time to Delivery, that came much earlier than they originally said. That alone was great on its own, since my cats life depended on getting on this diet as quickly as possible. This was the first time I used Chewy, and I will be a repeat customer. Yum
2 April 2024

So glad they LOVE this food. I mash it a little, add some water to make it a little soupy and sprinkle with a tablespoon of dry. My older one, who needs it, gobbles it down. As a preventive measure, I feed it to our younger boy to avoid future problems. I can split a can between them and they seem very happy. When our bag of dry arrived I fed it as a treat - they liked it there, too. Now, I leave a small bowl out for munching but they always love their combo for breakfast and dinner. Yes, it's very pricey but still not as bad as all the canned food we threw away because they wanted little to do with it. They eat this - the other was thrown away. No nutrition if they don't eat it.
