My dog's veterinarian recommends this brand of food for her. It is nutritious, fresh, and priced at an affordable level (especially because I am a senior citizen trying to live on a strict budget). The customer service reps at Chewy are always helpful & friendly. I love ordering from this company!

This food is great and my boys love it. However, I’ve noticed for the past couple of months that the cans are short on oz. They are not 13 oz as labeled. Because my boys are on a strict diet and I have to count their calories, it makes it very difficult when the can brings less than the labeled amount. I split their food evenly and with the can providing less than it is supposed to, that messes up their meal time. Not to mention the fact that I am getting ripped off almost an entire can of food per dozen when you add the amount missing per can. Hills Science should lower their price since they are not providing the amount of food they are supposed to be as labeled.

Only neg that caused 4 not 5 stars is, 3 times now we have ordered 3 bags of VetDogs Skin & Formula treats and they are put into the large box with our cased of 12 cans of Science Diet & 2 cases of Cesar's Wet food. The issue is they always come smash by the weight of the heavier items. Last time you replaced them this time I let it go but a wise thing to do would be to put them into a small box then put that box in with the other cases of food that way they don't get smashed. They are pricey to buy and it just seems that whomever does the packaging or the order could take a little more care and protect the treats.

My dogs have been on this for years and we loved it, but the past few months in our deliveries from Chewy the gravy is thin, at the bottom it is like water, the can is only 2/3 full with the meaty chunks, My dogs cant just eat gravy! I need the can to be full with a nice thick savory gravy. What is going on? I have had off cans every now and then, but never so many cases. I have 11 dogs! Now my dog that is recovering from spleen cancer is having trouble defecating. Is it the food? Quite possibly! Every time I open a can I get more upset! Is the product safe? You tell me!
I have a very picky dog and she did not like this food at all. Not even with Parmasan cheese on it. She needs to gain weight so I bought a high calorie liquid supplement too, which she likes, but the food itself was not palatable for her. And I shouldn’t have purchased 2 cases because I probably won’t be able to return them. I got the beef and chicken, and opened them both to see if she liked either one better. That was a mistake. Both kinds are very dense and a bit dry for a wet food, which I think added to my dog not liking it. Back to the drawing board. Good thing she’s so cute!
After adopting heim when his owner died this food bought his digestion and house training back into control. My only beef is about packing and delivery. I order 2 cartons which should fit snugly in one box avoiding damage and dents. However almost always they are put into two on the one delivery often in a large box. This has to be a waste in delivery cost and in packaging on top of teh dents that are often on teh cans
My dog must stay on a low-fat diet. This canned food has worked out very well for us. It keeps him healthy, and enriches his mealtimes. He eats a prescription low-fat kibble from a snuffle mat and two different puzzle toys, and then hunts for his “dessert,” the Hill’s Adult 7+ Chicken & Barley Entree canned food I’ve stuffed into his Toppl toy and tucked into the folds of a blanket in his crate. Chunky canned food won’t stick to the walls of his Toppl like this does. He spends what are clearly several extremely satisfying minutes licking out every last bit.
In about 1972, we started using Science Diet products when we bought a St. Bernard puppy. She was just a baby...a BIG baby...and we wanted her to grow up healthy and happy. The vet gave us a list of things to feed her that included an egg, cottage cheese and drained boiled hamburger once a week. But the most important part was her Science Diet puppy chow. She lived to be almost 16 years old. Every dog and cat we have had in the 50+ years we have been married, all our "furbabies" have been Science Diet critters. Right now, we have 4 rescue babies that are eating the best...Science Diet.
I purchased one case of chicken & barley canned dog food along with the beef flavor for my 8 year old cocker spaniel. She seemed to like the food then she vomited after eating the food, not just once but 3 different occasions. She was okay with the beef flavor stew. I haven't fed her chicken & barley stew yet but I will check. I still have 9 cans left which I will throw them away. Something is definitely wrong about this product and Hills Science needs to look into it. :(
Super unhappy with this garbage. My dog had most of her teeth pulled and I thought this would be a healthy alternative to kibble. She started getting skinny and I couldn't figure out why because I was feeding her more than the recommended amount. This wet food is mostly water and not much nutritional value. After my vet took a look at her, I stopped feeding her this and switched to softened kibble. She gained a little weight back and doesn't look like she's dying anymore.Don't let chewy take advantage of you. Don't use the autoship option unless you don't mind paying overdraft fees when they send a bunch of stuff without you knowing. I've had it with chewy.
