I've owned Hitachi power tools for quite a while, Sabre saw, drills, impact drivers, even one of their 18 volt weed whackers. At my shop and my sons when more commonplace brands like Ryobi, B&D, Makita, and Dewalt took a dive into the trash bin, our Hitachi tools kept on running. Funny at my son's cabinet shop the other cabinet builders used my son's Hitachi tools when he was out because they liked them better than their "better" brands :-) Anyway, back to the vacuum. A few years ago I bought a "Shark" hand held for my car which is so woefully inadequate it would not pick up a penny... in a few months the battery would not hold a charge, and 25 something dollars later I had to install a new one, which was no fun. Ever a glutton for punishment I bought the powerful Shark Ion Flex "DUO" for something like 6x the cost of the Shark hand held, but while it does an OK job on small items like dog hair and the battery pack (it came with 2) is easily replaceable it clogs horribly on small items like tissue paper shards , will not pick up a penny, the HUGE vacuum tube will not get in tight places and the runtime of the large pack is VERY short. Enter the Hitachi... It's intelligently designed by engineers who actually tried to use it! It uses all of my several 18 volt hand tool battery packs, sucks up a penny without an issue, the battery pack lasts a long time, it comes with a wide enough assortment of tools, a slim nozzle to get into sofa cushion cracks, under ANY furniture and get this it's THE easiest vacuum I have owned to dump debris from. Oh, the LED light is a nice touch, the lanyard makes it easy to store anywhere you have a wall / clothes hook and it easily picks a penny off the floor. I REALLY like it and I'm buying another. PS people who give a product poor ratings because they do not READ the listing to see what IS included are unfair. Thei is the fault of the buyer not the product. Power tools DO NOT always come with s battery OR charger because power tool buyers do not need a dozen chargers.
