This game was absolutely everything I could have imagined and then some. It is so immersive and beautifully developed! My inner Harry Potter nerd was screaming with excitement and suspense. I do wish it was multiplayer though, and that you could chat with other wizards/witches online to make new friends. It’s really sad that, that isn’t a feature or option. Other than that, this game was just perfect. I hope that they are able to one day make it multiplayer through a patch & enable a chat feature, but also bring DLC into the game within the future as well. When you’re finished with everything it does get EXTREMELY boring & lack luster. :c

I loved Harry Potter as a kid: went to the midnight releases for all of the books and would read the books the next day! I went to the midnight releases for almost all of the movies. I have a child now who has also fallen in love with the Harry Potter universe. I couldn't have been more excited when I heard about an open-world game that let's you be a student at Hogwarts... So of course I had to pre-order the deluxe edition as soon as I could. This fame made me feel like I was a kid again. It brought back so many nostalgic memories and really just brought that whimsical magic that the Harry Potter universe is known for. It's a 'cozy' game if thay makes sense. The gameplay was engaging and smooth, sounh and graphics were excellent and I thought the game offered a ... MoreI loved Harry Potter as a kid: went to the midnight releases for all of the books and would read the books the next day! But I don't feel like thays such a fair argument since my playthrough was over 40 hours and I still hadn't reached 100% completion. Also, the Best Buy digital edition delivery tgorigh email was super smooth and easy.

A great game! Some minor bugs, like all games, but nothing too bad so far. It takes some experimenting. When I tried fulfilling all the professor assigned tasks, while ignoring side quests, I did less well than when I explored, and fulfilled side quests, more. The game lacks some things-like Quidditch-but you can’t fit everything into the memory space a console provides. Timing matters, when casting a series of spells in a fight. Practice makes perfect. Rolling away from an attack is as important as casting a great spell. Growing your own plants, and making your own potions, helps a lot. The game will please some folks, and not others, just like every game. I, for one, enjoy it. You don’t have to be a Potter Head to like the game, but it helps.

Hogwarts Legacy is a unique experience I would recommend to any Harry Potter fan or RPG fans. The story takes place roughly 100 years before the events of the book series with an entirely new cast of characters that are engaging and fun to interact with. The gameplay may take some getting used to but after a while it is very fluid and natural. The graphics are top notch compared to other console games today.THE GAMEPLAY:The game plays out very much like the recent Assassin's Creed Valhalla, just take out the blood/gore and replace swords with wands and horses with brooms. The game offers plenty of replay value as well as depth with over 100 hours worth of gameplay. The world is massive and takes you places that the books and movies hadn't even ... MoreHogwarts Legacy is a unique experience I would recommend to any Harry Potter fan or RPG fans. 90s kid. Was big on the first movie. Didn't follow much after. But I have to say this is a great game. If you take out Harry Potter notion all together it could have carried it's self. Lot of open worlds have the same formula. Little story and a lot of collectables. Yes these are still there. But in a new way. Your rewarded by actual benefits some cosmetic but some actually macking a character better. The narrative keeps the pace going constant. As you develop your skills it opens the world more. As soon as you get used to things. It gives you more to do. All while not overwhelming you all at once. With a game that lasts longer we all lose interest. Not with this one.
I wish I could give half starts, because this is ultimately a 4.5/5. I mean just being in the Harry Potter universe and being "open world" nets you 3 stars. The rest are achieved by the intriguing yet predictable story, the array of things you're capable of doing that you've always wanted to do, and detracted by the lack of some gameplay controls and open world wonkiness. It's overall a solid game. One they tried to make fun for all ages, which is a bit boring, being that you're a 5th year, meaning you're like 15-16 yrs old in the game, and it feels like they feared it towards a 10yr old. Some of the quests are meh, they are literally go here and then come back....not very engrossing at some points. Im around 15% into the game. I was completely blown away at the amount of detail that was put into the interiors of the castle, Hogwarts. Perhaps its a Ravenclaw thing, but i found myself doing all the sidequests first just for the sake of exploring the castle gronds more and more. After, when i acquired a broom, it was a game changer. I was able to fly anywhere i wanted! I went to the highest point of Hogwarts, as well as fly over forrests and hills. You develop your own fighting strategy. Although i can solely rely on curses and spells, i trying to have more practice with using dangerous plants to help me in battles. I have also found my prefered wardrobe. The gameplay is horrendous, the character creation is a joke and the storyline is blah. There are so many glitches throughout the game that resulted in me having to restart in order to get unstuck from the terrain. The storyline is LAZY. Barely any lore incorporated. The only good thing about this game is the map (visually). The npcs are basic, theres so much diversity (including trans) in the scottish highlands for the 1800s and it seems like they were more worried about checking boxes than actually creating a believable storyline with some actual depth.Forbidden forest? Nothing to fear. Forbidden section of the library? No problem! Hogsmeade in the middle of the night? Yeah, sure! PS4 performance: runs really good, the delay in release has benefited this version! The optiins have graphics tab and lets you run the game at an unlocked framerate ( I played on normal ps4) and it works pretty good. Also had other options that you can turn off and on to suit your preferences, deluxe edition came with alternate cover and a few digital extras. Game Review: An almost perfect game that is a must play for HP fans. Its an open world third person action adventure rpg, you create your character in the beginning of the game. The world map is very huge and the star is of course hogwarts! The devolpers put so much detail in every corner of the famous magical school. You attend classes as part of the story and get to pick your house. Fans of the books and ... MorePS4 performance: runs really good, the delay in release has benefited this version! You attend classes as part of the story and get to pick your house. Fans of the books and movies will recognize many locations and even some characters! The combat is fun and fluid, you learn a lot of spells and get to choose your own strategy for taking out enemies. The story, set in the late 1800's, is very mediocre and hardly had any interesting characters. The set pieces and graphics help in this regard though. If they had asked JK Rowling to write a unique tale for the game it would have benefited it a lot. The gear system tends to get annoying but lets you make your character look how you want so it's not so bad. A solid game which I can see becoming a new gaming franchise!
