I loved these shoes. I got them in the spring and wore them for a couple of months. I noticed they were changing colour in the body of the shoe which did not look too bad at first. However they have now faded into a strange green but the trim remains a bright blue. An odd look overall. Has anyone else had this experience? Surely it can't be just me. I have not worn them all summer and they have been stored in a closet. This has been my 4th pair of Hokas as I have Hallux Rigidus and they were recommended. I think they are having quality control issues.

I had back surgery and as a long time wearer of Hoka's, I knew they would continue to be my go to shoes for any activity. I wanted something easier to get in and out of and extra stable and comfortable. The Kaha 2 low GTX fits the bill. Bending, while seated, is harder for me but if I untied them before I take them off. I can slip my foot in and a little bend to tie them. I'm walking with a little less coordination, but these shoes have helped recover faster.

I bought these for walking in the rain - I live in southwest Washington and it rains frequently! These shoes are not as cushioned as my Bondis and I had to re-lace them in order to tighten to keep my heel stable. I haven't gone for a walk in these yet but I'm sure they will work out well for when it rains. I do wish that hola would make a waterproof walking shoe with extra cushioning - my feet would definitely be appreciative.

I am very disappointed that the grommets at the top of the laces (light turquoise in color) are plastic especially considering the hefty price tag. They should be metal to last over time when considerable tension is applied to lace them tighter. I foresee them cracking, or coming loose or other similar type failure. Otherwise a fantastic shoe! They do fit a little bigger than my other Hoka's in the same size, but that's ok because it can accomodate a thick hiking sock.
These shoes were exactly what I was looking for. A great trail/waterproof shoe. I travel a lot, so need a shoe that can withstand the weather of the UK, as well as the terrain. They fit perfect while moving, but when I stopped, they cut into my outside ankles. Weird. Both shoes. Sadly, I returned them. I am still looking for that perfect Hoka. I’m confident I will find it.
I had Achilles tendinitis as a result of a heel bone spur. It was quite painful and interfered with my love of hiking with my dog. A friend recommended I try the Hoka brand, well, the rest is history. I was able to hike again immediately, as my heel did not hurt and the tendonitis healed in a short time. I live in Moab, UT and the hiking here is quite diversified, from slick rock (red sandstone) trails to deep red sand to rock-filled washes and talus slopes. I wear my Hokas every day and they are awesome. Very comfortable and sturdy and the best part is - my feet don't hurt! Yay! I highly recommend this shoe for hiking. Thank you, Hoka for understanding my feet and making a product that makes hiking pain-free.
Planning on walking the Camino de Santiago. Wanted a light weight shoe with plenty of cushioning that has good traction & support. Have previously worn 2 different Kaha boots hiking, that fit right out of the box. The Kaha 2 rubbed my ankles. Returned them & bought the Kaha 2 boots locally. Ankle rubbing resolved, but I need to purchase insoles that have better cushioning. These are not anywhere near as plush as my 2 older pairs of Kahas. I compared the insoles & they are definitely thinner & less cushiony feeling! Thought maybe the insoles had been swapped. No they had Kaha 2 written on them. Put my old insoles in the new boots-feels much better. I would also suggest making the tongue slightly longer & or putting the loop back on the tongue as the laces ride up ... MorePlanning on walking the Camino de Santiago. I was looking for a low waterproof hiker. I've been strictly wearing HOKA only for the last 3 years. I have very bad feet that kill me when I'm on my feet for more than a couple hours. HOKA's have saved me at my work events. I love them. I love the look of these shoes. Unfortunately, my feet slip really bad to the point where they are unstable. I can only where them on flat pavement. I cannot wear them on a trail, which is why I purchased them. When you tie them you can't get them tight and they become even looser within a couple steps. I feel like that is the main cause. You cannot get them tied tight and they loosen right away to the point that you can't walk and you have to retie them. Because of that I don't think buying a smaller size would help. Hoka ... MoreI was looking for a low waterproof hiker. I've been strictly wearing HOKA only for the last 3 years. Hoka employee's need to try these shoes because it seems like it would be an easy fix. Very disappointing because the first few steps feel great and I think I'd love them if I didn't feel like I could walk out of them all the time.
Initially I only used these shoes for short hikes, and they were ok. After using them for a long hike (9 months after purchasing them) they were very uncomfortable after few hours and caused me terrible blisters. (I am an experienced hiker and I know how to avoid blisters, using the right socks etc..). I wished I could return them even if used or get a discount but the customer service did not give me this option. Very upsetting for such expensive hiking shoes.
My podiatrist recommended HOKA. (even though I normally buy Merrell) so i bought a pair Hoka online. Delivery within 3 days. Great!!Shoe runs wide. The shoe laces refuse to stay tide (3x untied) within 6 blocks. Had to order shoe clips to wear . (Accessories for my shoes.)the extended back messes with walking down stairs. caution dangerous!!!The right shoe uncomfortable. Inner Seam by big toe uncomfortable. played with lace tying no go.
