In the awkward positions we partake in our shop to troubleshoot or install aftermarket accessories on a wide variety of vehicles, has put massive strain on all shoes. Regularly my shoes will deteriorate within half a year and some within a week. The flexibility is higher than most giving my feet freedom to stretch and conform to different needs. The lace section is a bit tight and the tongue slips a bit to the side however with the shoe's design it secures nicely to my feet even at extreme side pressure stances. The grip on wet surfaces will instill any confidence but the structural integrity holds up when exiting 10" or higher lifted trucks. I was hesitant with the hype and hefty price of the Hoka brand of shoes. But, I was in need of some serious comfort and durability, unfound in previous brands of shoes I've obliterated while paying way too much. So, I took the leap into a pair of Hoka shoes. The first thing you notice when opening the box for the first time is how LIGHT these shoes are. I'm pretty sure a banana weighs more than both shoes combined! Next, was the blackout color style I wanted. I was not disappointed. Very stylish, without being too "over the top" like some shoes out there. Then, oh yes, the absolute best part: slipping into these shoes for the first time (with my fav socks). It's like bouncing around on 10 1/2 clouds at once! (11 clouds may be too bouncy)In conclusion, I've owned ... MoreI was hesitant with the hype and hefty price of the Hoka brand of shoes. My feet don't hurt at work, and I've somehow managed to double my daily steps. I was skeptical with the price tag, but am not regretting the investment. Thanks Hoka for designing a great shoe. Will be more than happy to write more awesome reviews for future purchases!

I've been a fan of Nike for quite a while and have always been satisfied with their products. Recently, I wanted to switch to something that fit better for walking. The Solimar shoes arrived at my place, and when I tried them on, they felt super light and comfy, but a bit snug. I was tempted to send them back. Their return policy mentioned that Hoka would handle exchanges or refunds once they got the shoes back, which could take around 10 days. On the bright side, the customer service chat was really nice and helpful. I decided to go for an exchange for a half size up. The return and exchange process was super easy. As soon as UPS scanned the QR code, the Hoka replacement was already in motion, and I got the new pair delivered in just 3 days. These shoes are very comfortable and supportive when new, however, after about 6 months of occasional wearing (usually 2 days/week walking around the neighborhood) the outsole began to peel apart. I contacted Hoka's warranty department and was told I could ship the shoes in at my cost for assessment, and if they determined the damage was from regular wear and tear I would have to pay to have them shipped back. I decided this wasn't worth the hassle so I continued to wear them. Within a few more months, the padding inside the shoe had completely smashed down and the shoes began to look and feel very tired.I am disappointed in the durability of these shoes and will not purchase Hoka again. ON and Nike hold up much better over similar usage.
I just ordered these shoes yesterday around 12:30pm and they arrived today around 4pm. How did that happen? I guess it's because I live in the SF Bay Area. I think Fleet Feet is based around here.Anyway, the moment I tried them on, I knew I would just love them. The fit me like a glove. I love the thick bottom sole, but mostly I love that they are narrower in the sole than my other Hoka's are. I have big feet (size 10) and I don't like my Biondi's because the sole is SO wide at the base. I'm not saying the inside of the shoe is wide. It's only the bottom sole that is wide. They are so wide that it makes me feel like my feet look like clown feet.I also love that they don't have the big letters with Hoka on the side,The above features are coming from someone who ... MoreI just ordered these shoes yesterday around 12:30pm and they arrived today around 4pm. I love their shoes but I happen to like these Solimars because they are not big and wide like my other Hoka's are. My other Hoka's are totally good shoes that are cushiony. I just don't like the way they look on me.
I went with the shoe because my trainer suggested I get a training shoe for more stability particularly when I am doing leg exercises. This shoe does not offer the stability. I need seems to stretch excessively with the pressure from the weights. I have 20 pair of Hoka sneakers. I wear a different shoe to the gym each day. Most of my shoes are the BONDI, the Gaviota, carbon X, and other types, which seem to give me support when I'm working out with other equipment./weights. Please redesign the shoe to have it be a little more stable. I switched from Nike to Hoka many years ago and I love your brand, but this shoe is sadly disappointing.
I coach tennis all day (way more walking and standing then tennis playing!) and have been looking for more comfortable shoes that will also not force me to buy new ones so often. I'd tried probably 15+ different shoes and nothing seems to last longer than a month before my knees and hips start hurting. My tennis friend a former D1 player recommended Hokas for the walking/standing coaching, and I got 3+ months out of the Biondi 8s and was thrilled because they were also so comfortable and looked good. I'd been telling lots of people how awesome they were and I truly do thank your company for those.I then purchased the Solimar's with hopes that I could also play tennis more, and unfortunately they were not quite what I was looking for as my knees started to hurt ... MoreI coach tennis all day (way more walking and standing then tennis playing!) and have been looking for more comfortable shoes that will also not force me to buy new ones so often. Which of your shoes would you recommend for tennis play? These Solimar's are still in good shape but I can't wear them. After a week or so of trying the Solimars, I decided I needed to buy some more Hokas before my body went out and this time I got the Clifton 9s, and so far they seem similarly comfortable to the Biondis and I've been happy.
I love these shoes. And for the price, I don't think you can beat this model of HOKA compared to some of the more expensive ones.DISCLAIMER: I am not an "Everyday Runner". I run maybe 10-15 miles per week either on a treadmill or on pavement/road depending on the weather where I live.If you are an Everyday Runner, you might want to disregard this review. With that said, I have what some would call a bit of a shoe buying problem. I buy too many. I own too many pairs. I think I own more pairs of shoes than my wife; not sure. I buy shoes first and foremost for comfort, and secondarily for performance and style. I own several unworn pairs of the classics, mostly from Adidas and Puma. I am "saving them for later", rather than suffering the devastating disappointment ... MoreI love these shoes. I own several unworn pairs of the classics, mostly from Adidas and Puma. I am "saving them for later", rather than suffering the devastating disappointment of not being able to find them, or realizing there was a manufacturing change, or whatever scenario where I can't get a perfect fit with a fresh pair when my current pair wears out. Understand?I am lucky I never got into the Air Jordans game, because I'm not wealthy. Also, as stated above, I do not run every day. Running is a small part of my physical wellness that includes a variety of activities I won't list out here. But I know if a pair of shoes is a Keeper within about a month of consistent wear, which includes running and cross-training as well as just casual wear and walking. These shoes are TTS to me, perfectly, right at a 10. I range between 8.5 and 10.5 depending on the brand. But when I try a shoe on, I start with 10, and that's usually a fit.I would say buy with confidence in your size, unless others disagree outside of a 10.I like these shoes so much that I will be buying another identical pair to keep in a box in my closet, along with all of the other brand new "best shoes I've ever worn" collection. If you want a really solid HOKA shoe but don't feel like paying $200+, try these. If you run 10+ miles everyday, and they wear out too quickly, I can't speak to that.
I walk a lot, I run a bit, but I play a lot of pickleball mostly. These shoes single-footedly gave me plantar fascitis. I tried new soles with these shoes as the default soles are abysmal, about as thick as 3 ply toilet paper. The only thing that worked was getting rid of this shoe and switching to a different brand. It's a huge shame because this was my second pair, and my first pair a couple of years ago gave me no issues. The quality has noticeably gone downhill, reducing quality to maximize profits.
I purchased a pair of Arahi at a retailer. After using only twice the insert in the shoe was almost totally flat and not supportive. So I then try to use Hoka's "great" warranty, but they only offer me a site credit. AND I had to pay the $25 to ship the shoes back to them. Once I finally got my new shoes after two weeks (these Salimars), the left shoe had its plastic shoe tip pointed down and digs into my toes when I run. Could only run for two minutes before that became too uncomfortable. So I call them back, telling the customer service rep I have now had TWO defective pairs (costing over $150 with tax). But alas, said there's nothing they can do but offer to replace them after I pay another $25 to ship these back to them. Brooks or New Balance are the way to go. Steer clear of this company.
