Unlike most flip flops out there, you can walk in them just as lightly and fast as with a pair of Hoka's excellent running shoes. The tread on the bottom is very good. I haven't slipped once in them, rain or shine, which can't be said for most flip flops. They're easy to clean with a bristle scrubber and some dish soap.One thing: the soles are taller than you are probably used to, so the first few days you wear them, make sure you duck a bit when getting in and out of the car or low doorways, etc.. I wacked my noggin a few times on the car roof because I wasn't used to the new height of these sandals.I cannot recommend these too highly. Get them, wear them, be comfortable.

I bought these sandals to replace a previous pair from Hoka (same product, but slightly different model). That PREVIOUS pair were my best sandals ever. I would have given them not 5 stars, but 10, to the point that I bought extra pairs as gifts for friends and family. I have plantar fasciitis. The old sandals provided truly amazing arch support and I credit them for helping me recover from and manage the fasciitis. They were indeed RECOVERY sandals. The silicone strap created a snuggly fit that make walking in the sandals effortless. The color combination (aqua + yellow) was beautiful. I was sad when those workhorse sandals broke after several years of daily use. After replacing with the current model, I've been disappointed. On my second pair of these slippahs. The straps are just junk! Both pairs started to break down after about 5 months of use. The straps are too loose to start, but after a few months they start to fall apart. The different layers of the material just peel away from each other. Was hoping that my first pair was a fluke, but the straps on the second pair started to frey and de-laminate after a few months, jusk like the first pair. What ever material they use for the straps just do not hold up in a tropical climate.

I wear size 11 yet I do not have feet as thick as the designers assumed. My feet are long, thin, and flat.I bought the right size (11), but the straps that hold the sandals to my feet are not tight enough. I wish they were tighter, using more of a stiff, but stretchy strap to accomadate diff thicknesses of our feet.I would have to buy a size too small in order for the strap to be tight enough. Having said all that, theyre still the best sandals for my painful feet/toes. The rounded shape in front takes pressure off my toes, but not as well as shoes would (eg. gaviota 4 which I also bought).
While I wanted these flipfops, things or what your preferences are, for a while. I love HOKA Shoes and thought these would fit the bill. I ordered size 11, I wear 10 1/2, per Hoka recommendation but they were way too large for me. I sent them back and got a size 10. The length and width are fine and the soles make you feel like you're walking on air. The only problem I have is the straps are a little too loose for my liking. I like mine to fit tight and stretch with me but not these. Lol they are great thongs but just wish they fit a little tighter. Would I buy them again? I am thinking I would if they hold up to normal use. That's about it. But then. I have gotten use to the looseness but still like them tighter. See ya and I hope this helps you.
I have tried so many brands and styles of shoes. Always looking for the one shoe that doesn't make me feel like I've just played 4 quarters as a tackle dummy for an NFL team. I have found the ONE. I can work from sun up to sun down on my farm, uneven terrain, lifting, bending, back and forth about 5 miles a day. My back, knees and hips withstand it all. I'm not a skinny person so the plush level is my choice. After farm chores I throw on these flip flops and can still walk, bend and carry stuff around the house.I can't say enough good stuff about this brand.
I was excited about these for wearing around the house. Hoka’s are always comfortable right? Wrong! Yes, they are extremely cushy but the back heel is so high your entire foot is positioned at an angle. The high arch is nice but the angle from heel to toes makes me feel so unstable and at risk of twisting my ankle. Instead of hogging your heel, the extra cushioning of the heel just bounces your foot around every which a way making for an unpleasant walking experience. The hoka cushion is nice but it shouldn’t be at the expense of proper secure fit.
I bought the men's ORA because I read reviews that mentioned the men & women's versions being essentially the same shoe, but that the reviewers felt like the thong had been adjusted to make the women's shoe more aesthetically pleasing - which created blisters and an awkward fit.I loved the support and cushion of the sole. But that strap destroyed the tops of my feet. It's not even an issue of placement as much as it is material - it's plastic-ey and slick. I wore the flip flops about a quarter of a mile last week to walk the dog and I still have cuts across the tops of my toes. Cuts. There were blisters too, but the cuts are still healing. If I could attach a pic, I would. Couldn't wait to get these recover flips especially from HOKA! Unfortunately, the think straps will eventually rub on your index toe right in the crease where it starts to get thicker. Wish they made the skinny part of thong a little longer or didn't make it so thick so soon. Like I said the cushion you get with these flops are phenomenal, but then again plan on squeaking around wearing these. There beautiful, and keep wearing in hopes on them breaking in we're the thing doesn't rub, seems to be working, but now it's like walking with ducks on my feet. I hope they remake these! There are definitely updates to be made. Probably going back to my traditional flops. Less cushion, but no squeaking nor irritation/rubbing on fragile toe skin from thong.
I bought my first pair of Ora recovery flip-flops in late 2022. They were super comfortable right out of the box. But I destroyed them on a recent walk that was tougher than I had anticipated - over rocks and boulders on a beach. So I ordered a new pair expecting the same comfortable flip flop. However, they were uncomfortable right out of the box and remain so after about 3 weeks. I called Hoka to let them know. I was told the shoe had been redesigned. They don't have any of the older model. Oh well.
