Best shoes I've ever owned!

I love these shoes. I am an overweight 67 year old and my feet have hurt when standing and walking for several years. I had went to a podiatrist and received shoe inserts that really helped; however, I still had pain. Last year my daughter introduced me to these shoes. As I walked around the store, I was ecstatic! It felt like I was bouncing! After wearing them several times, I tried them without the doctor prescribed inserts. It was even better. I don't need the inserts! My feet don't hurt anymore! Well made cushioned shoes. I can't sing their praises enough!

Have had a pair of the Bondi 8's for the past 6 months and really like them, but only had my first run in a pair of 7's today. They feel slightly lighter / less bulky, but just as cushioned and comfortable. I've worn another brand of running shoes for years now, but will stick with Hoka's going forward I think. I'm more or a distance (road) runner, in my mid 50s, so the comfort is right up there on the priority list. When I was first fitted for running shoes, I was recommended one with a fair bit of stability, so initially I was concerned that the Bondi's might not be stable enough. However, I've had zero issues. The other thing I love about the Hoka's is the versatility: just as good for walking and casual wear as running. Highly recommended.

These shoes have literally enabled me to walk. I was in an accident and broke both feet. Went into a store in a wheelchair and bought my first pair. 6 mnths later and having worn them every day for most of the day I figured I had nest get another pair. They are comfortable, supportive and flexible. They have a slight curve on the sole helping ensure a correct forward motion. The wide fit was confortable when my feet were swollen and when they were not.Now I am walking 10000 steps a day!

Most comfortable shoe for walking....
15 October 2022

Due to feet condition and flare ups with pain, my podiatrist recommended the Bondi 7 series. It's been a wonderful comfortable shoe with its cushioning especially when walking on asphalt around my neighborhood for daily exercise. It also helps with my spinal stenosis and compressed discs I have in my lower lumbar. I also have neuropathy in both feet and these shoes assist in alleviating that discomfort.Well, I'm disappointed now that Hoka has decided to discontinue the Bondi 7 and replace it with the Bondi 8. I cannot wear the Bondi 8 because they narrowed the width of the toe box resulting in too tight a fit. I've heard from my local shoe where I bought the Hoka Bondi that other Bondi 7 customers have complained about the Bondi 8 for the same reason. The Bondi 7 in 11 4E size fit my feet perfectly and I wish Hoka would bring back the Bondi 7 to fill my need and those other customers for a wider toe box. It would also assist in maintaining those loyal customers of the Hoka brand. I've tried on other brands that compete against the Hoka and they are not as comfortable for my feet.I've written this review as a constructive comment to Hoka and respect to them. The Hoka brand represents quality in shoe construction. In closing, I'd also like to recognize Footwear etc. in their Walnut Creek location for their extraordinary service in serving the shoe industry. The store manager, Jose is extraordinary in his friendly and knowledgeable demeanor. He also has the support and respect of a caring sales staff.

Most comfortable walking shoe ever!
7 May 2022

I was just in NYC a few weeks ago. Needless to say there was a lot of walking. Towards the end of the trip, between my lumbar my lumbar being compressed and my my foot with it's arch falling, I was in extreme pain during the last part of my trip. I started looking online for better shoes and came across reviews for the Hoka One One show. I checked online in NYC, but nothing was close by. When I returned home, I knew I was going to look around in SD right away. The night I returned from the trip, I started thinking about which stores would carry them. I thought of Footwear etc., since the shoe is APMA approved. I went to check the mail and as fate would have it, there was a Footwear etc. catalog. I checked the web site and Footwear did carry the shoe. I decided to visit Footwear the next day and see this shoe in person. From the second I put on a pair of these shoes, My pain went away in my feet and lumbar spine. It was instant gratification and I was in love with them. I read reviews that they can help with not just foot problems, but back problems too. I was bouncing between this style and the leather ones. I opted for this because of summer. I read reviews that walking in these shoes is like walking on a foam mattress. Honestly that is probably the best description for them. They are so light and comfy. I really wish I had these when I was in NYC. I guess I will have to walk a lot in SD to appreciate these. You don't have to take my review, I highly recommend that you try these out yourselves. Especially if your spine is degrading as bad as mine and multiple vertebrates are compressing. I love these shoes so much that I am going back to get the black leather pair and maybe another color too!

New Spring in My Step
16 June 2022

broke my leg and ankle last year, and still in recovery mode needing to wear sneakers for support most of the time. After my physio required me to purchase new more stable shoes, I went to my local Athletes Foot so I could speak with with a Foot Technician. They offered a couple of shoes and recommended the Hoka One, Clifton shoe. As soon as I put them on and took short walk, it literally felt like I had a new found spring in my step. My Mum (visiting me in Melbourne) also noticed this as I did my first lap around the store. I had them for a couple of weeks now, and am able to go on long walks without any ankle issues! They have really helped. As Athletes Foot were having an EOFY sale, I decided to purchase another pair. Whilst they aren't the same Show (opting for the Hoka One Bondi), I was assured that they would have a similar fit, with some better support than the Cliftons. The Bondi's arrived this morning, and they really feel like they have the same amount of support, and a really modern style to them. So far, both thumbs are pointing up with these shoes!

Postponed knee surgery.
20 September 2022

My knee has bone on bone which has reduced my physical activities. The sneakers I had altho expensive were not absorbing shock especially when walking on hard surfaces.Athlete's Foot outlet at Marion Shopping Centre tested my foot and recommended Hoka 1 to me.An amazing change immediately for me with absolutely minimal pain compared to pre Hoka.I have referred a number of people now with similar knee problems to purchase Hoka as in my opinion they are the best available. The shoe is a perfect fit.I now use my Blue Hokas for my daily 6km walk and my new black ones for casual wear with long pants.Im a 78 year old very active Male and wear a Size 11.

Quite a disappointmnt in terms of fit & durability
21 March 2023

Have very mixed feelings about these shoes. On one hand, the heel/foot cushioning is great. But on the other hand, the shoe is literally falling apart after just 2 weeks of mild usage, and it has given me bloody blisters on the inside sides of my feet, where the ball of the foot meets the shoe sole and side of the shoe. I think the soles are very badly designed. The edges of the soles are sharp and create constant friction against the foot. When you run for 10km a few times a week, this friction creates annoying blisters, which also bleed sometimes.Overall, it's very hard to imagine this is a $200-$300 shoe. I plan to go back to my old ASICS gel, which have served me well for years and do not give me any blisters at all. The HOKA will probably have fallen apart ... MoreHave very mixed feelings about these shoes. On one hand, the heel/foot cushioning is great. Supportive++ for high arch feet
11 October 2022

Was wary of sole height although recommended by podiatrist-amazing, feet never been so supported n not obvious such a huge sole on shoe. Have high arch not supported by routine shoes. Pushing 50, feeling pain from life of poor shoes. A week in & looking to buy 2nd pair for when this pair worn out! Nurse-consecutive days on feet.No store in the desert, nearest 1500km north or south-online with a prior 3d fit made getting perfect fit seamless.

Surprisingly comfortable and stable shoes!
2 August 2022

At first the Hoka One One Bondi 7 felt just a little too "cushiony", but I gave them a try by wearing them only an hour on the first day and then increasing my time on them in the succeeding days. Finally, I took my morning walk with them and was pleasantly surprised at how well and comfortably it went. Today, I wore them on a treadmill for 20 minutes and then all around town, shopping. I experienced comfort, balance and endurdance on them. The outer sole has a wide base which helps stabilize my foot on the ground and my overall sense of balance. So now, I am very pleased with the product.
