I just purchased 2 pairs of Arahi 5's as I have really appreciated my very first pair and have heard that the Arahi 6's don't fit the same. I was planning a three-week trip/tour in Europe and wanted to be sure my feet would be comfortable with a lot of walking. There was even more walking than I anticipated. I can honestly say, I had NO foot problems with covering over 80 miles of sight seeing/walking over the three weeks. I love my Hoka's. They have provided much relief from my plantar faciities and achilles tendonitis . I highly recommend them as a great walking shoe. I did make an error in my order by ordering a half size larger. It didn't seem to make much difference. I have long, bony feet with bunions and a very high arch. Plus I have a wide forefoot with a very narrow heel and I over-pronate. I don't think I'll ever find a shoe that doesn't bother me some where but these shoes are almost there for me. I love the softness of the bottoms and the fabric gives enough for my bunions. The toe box is wide enough and the heel is still narrow enough to be comfortable. I also like the fact that there are some colors for wide shoes instead of just black and off-white. The rounded toe also makes me very happy - my feet are long enough without a long pointed toe making them look longer. The support is excellent. Please don't change these shoes much - I need them.

I have been a fervent staunch Nike fan for running shoes. I used to run a 5K daily, sometimes twice a day when I was feeling frisky (i.e., crazy) lol. However, post pandemic and a COVID diagnosis, I have suffered some setbacks. I have lost miles and speed, then suffered some overuse injuries...weight gain and now we're here. Arahi held my hand through it all. I needed a stability shoe that cushioned my feet for PF and nasty shin splints. I can say that I have loved my pair into the ground. It'll be almost a year in December since I married this shoe and the honeymoon has been blissful. I have close to 100 miles on my first pair and I'm excited for a second pair this Christmas. I love these shoes and I'll never go back to Nike. I've had all Nike has for running shoes ... MoreI have been a fervent staunch Nike fan for running shoes. I can take these to the gym, cross train, pavement, track, trails, there's nowhere these shoes won't go. For my shin splints I added heel inserts and now my splints have healed as I have gained better muscle tone and strength. Been a long road out of h***, Arahi 5 gave me the confidence to get back on the pavement without the pain. Thank you Hoka, I got my running feet back thanks to you!

Foot surgeon recommended after bunion surgery
1 August 2022

I [M70] have been in pain for 6 weeks since foot surgery. Doc recommended Hokas. I had not heard of the brand since I'm not a runner. Tried Arahi and Gaviotas at local Fleet Feet and was shocked that I could walk around in them comfortably in spite of my incredibly tender ball joint. Looking forward to giving my Arahi 5's a better workout once my foot is better healed. Also bought a pair of recovery slip-ons for indoor use.Congrats to team DECK for creating wonderful shoes that even an old tenderfoot like me can wear.

I have been MISSING OUT!
7 July 2022

I bought these shoes on a recommended suggestion of my son's teacher. Oh boy, was she right! I am flat footed and "phat". So walking or standing long terms ten to do a number on my body(mostly hip area). I decided to purchase one pair of Hoka shoes with the hopes of receiving relief from current foot pain from another "more expensive " brand. I love them! I am even motivated to start running again! I haven't ran 500 yards (or more) in over six years.Bottom line, the lesson I learned is buying proper footwear to help with body mechanics can/will improve your life!

I love these shoes; my left foot does not. :(
14 July 2022

I first ordered the wrong size (order one size larger than you usually wear!), and I returned and received the correct size easily and quickly. I broke my left foot two years ago, and the cast and boot did a number on it. I thought I was past the worst after physical therapy and such, but after wearing the shoes for a couple of hours, there's a spot on my left foot that feels like it's being stabbed by a knife. It's getting better and better as I wear them a few hours at a time. If they improve, I will buy again. I love the way they look and feel on my neuropic feet.

New 5s = Dissapointment
15 July 2021

I have worn Hokas (specifically their stability shoes) for years and have always been able to just order my size in a new pair when my current pair is worn out. All I can say is that the designers have gutted this shoe until there is very little left to call it a stability shoe. Why would you decide to make a stability shoe more narrow? Why would you skim off material around the ankle? Clearly they are making a cheaper shoe and hoping no will notice, because they are slick looking shoes and come in gorgeous colors. I did give these a test run of 3.1 miles (a good average run for me) just to prove to myself that I wasn't crazy and hypercritical. Results: entirely too much heel movement, shin splints within 1 mile, tender knees post-run. And even with added inserts ... MoreI have worn Hokas (specifically their stability shoes) for years and have always been able to just order my size in a new pair when my current pair is worn out. I hope my review is helpful, but know that I truly hate writing a negative review for a company I have always loved.

Not for me
11 July 2022

Sorry to say these did not work out at all. That is the big risk of buying online. Unfortunately these were very uncomfortable, I tried twice to wear them on a run and the right shoe was so tight around the top of my foot- not my toes but around the mid foot - my foot was completely numb by the time I was done ( short distance 1.5 miles) when I took off the shoes The numbness went away and was replaced by pins and needles. I have a small foot- never needed a wide shoe in any other brand . Ended up giving them to my daughter and she likes them. Maybe I should have gone up a full size but the reviews said they fit true to size. Went back to my old brand .

Really loved these shoes for their first few outings! Cushion feels like running on clouds and the rocker motion the sole encourages helped me find my stride much faster! They were also true to size and after one short run, felt fairly broken in. I really enjoyed them and even wore them a few times casually.....until it rained.Went out for my run in a rain shower and my shoes got wet. Didn't think much of it and set them out to dry. The next morning, I see that my left shoe has turned orange?? I was baffled. Only the left one, the right remained a pristine white. My socks were white and they only got wet from the rainfall, no splashing through puddles which may have had chemicals or something. I washed per Hoka One Ones instructions and it just got worse, now all ... MoreReally loved these shoes for their first few outings! I'm still keeping these for running as they've been worn too much for me to feel good returning them and it's only a cosmetic issue, but am pretty disappointed by this and won't be getting white or lighter colored Hokas in the future.

Will see how the product holds up over time.

I purchased my first Arahi 2 and have since purchased another models before coming back to the Arahi. The shoe feels and looks flimsy and cheap. I don't feel the same support that I did with previous purchases. Certainly there is a very cushioned feel but without the sense of stability of the other shoes.I feel that the plus of your shoes was a distinctive quality. Now it seems that I could easily go back to other brands without a noticeable difference in performance.I will wait to see how the shoe holds up over time.
