When I saw these came in waterproof I knew I needed to try them. Overall, I'm pretty impressed. I think the waterproof is more of a "water resistant" but that's not unusual - I have yet to find a truly waterproof sneaker. They are incredibly comfortable, my feet feel "energized" in these and some knee pain I had been dealing with pretty much resolved completely after switching to the Hoka transport. The material is also really easy to clean (mud basically wipes off) so that is a plus (my previous waterproof sneakers were a knit material which was fairly waterproof but required more thorough cleaning). I will say these probably won't work for wider feet - my feet are pretty narrow and these feel a little snug in the toe box. Overall though I'm happy with them: Rating 5 for comfort, 5 for style and 3.5 for waterproof - 4.5 rounded up to 5.

I have had several pair of Hoka now. This will be my fourth. I also use ON Running shoes. Because I go out every day I usually rotate what I wear and, depending on the weather, will opt for a waterproof shoe. I use them for rucking / jog-walking on pavement and gravel.I know podiatrists are hot on this brand. I don't know why, but I'll go with it. Unfortunately I find these shoes so ugly. The branding and design are offensive, so it's hard to find one I'll actually wear. These, I could wear. This time I was looking to replace my waterproof shoe that I have in rotation. So I bought these and the Clifton 9 GTX. These are comfortable upon trying on (the Clifton 9 were more comfortable). I haven't worn them in the wild yet.The Clifton 9 were so offensive looking I ... I also like that they are all black, making the branding is less offensive and subtle. Compared to the Clifton, the branding is actually better executed (e.g. the Clifton had a huge reflective "GORTEX" label on the toe. On this shoe it's small and tastefully placed inside a stripe near the ankle and it's black on black. I probably would have kept the Clifton if they had just used a similar size and placement of the branding even if it was reflective).I'm still going to order some ON Running equivalents and compare before I decide.

I read lots of compliments on the Bandi styles. My first try was Bandi but when it arrived it was too bulky for my taste even though it looked well made. I immediately contacted the customer service for support, gagging the sizes and the weight of Bandi in comparison to other styles. I wanted just comfortable sneakers to walk around the neighborhood. I also read reviews made by others which I found very helpful. After two returns due to sizing issues, I finally got the Transport GTX in blank on black and it is a perfect fit. My first experience wearing it was as if I was walking on air. This is my favorite go to shoe and I appreciate everyone who contributed by enabling me make the right decision- the customer service staff and the customers who gave good reviews ... These look sharp, I went with the black body/white sole, and use them at work as a RN. I work in the field and am exposed to a variety of enviroments, travelling throughout the day. I also used these on two camping/fishing trips and they performed well. I wouldn't use them routinely for hiking, but short jaunts down to the creek, or to fetch some wood they work great. I expected more ankle support; not that there's a lack of it, but they're more comfortable than stable, hence the profile. The slip in takes a minute to get used to, but no complaints on that. Great shoe with multiple applications.
Love the lower profile and neutral tones of these shoes. Plus, they're lightweight, waterproof and have pull-on laces, which are all positives. However, I wouldn't recommend the Transport GTX because the shoes are not comfortable - hard and no support. After just one hour of a hill hike, I was looking forward to taking them off already.Regarding the fit, these run smaller than other Hoka models I own - Bondi, Challenger ATR, Anacapa, Stinson ATR. They fit closer to Nike sizing. Personally, I like the smaller fit because I feel Hokas typically run too big and too wide.
I bought these shoes for travel to Europe during raining season along the Finland and Norway Coasts. I was going to be doing a lot of walking and weather forecast showed possible rain almost every day... but thankfully we had minimal rain on our outings; but when it did rain these shoes were fabulous! They did their job and my feet stayed dried and comfortable! My heel is on the narrow side and my toe box is borderline b/c width. I have several pairs of Hoka tennis shoes but this was the first time I had bought the Transport GTX. I was skeptical of what the material would be and how they would look when I ordered them. To my surprise they look like normal tennis shoes, but yet they were waterproof! The water just beaded up and my feet were dry! No Scotchguard or spray is needed! And while the fabric is a bit different, it is very resilient and I loved that my shoes stayed clean and looked nice my entire three-week trip. Honestly, they still look new! I can easily walk 8-11 miles a day when traveling and exploring, so I wanted the "Hoka" comfort... I got it! I bought these last minute mail order without testing or wearing them and left for my trip a few days later. There is no breaking-in needed... they were comfortable from day one and off I went. My feet never hurt and the fabric did not make my feet sweat or be hot either. I will say the bottoms are a smoother texture and I would not say these would be the best for hiking, I like the sole more rugged for hiking, but they worked perfect for me walking and exploring the city! I wish I had found them for previous travels. Being waterproof is really nice; you never know when it is going to rain and to have this protection AND comfort at the same time is fabulous without taking extra shoes. I usually do take 2 pair of tennis shoes, just for change of pace and color, but I highly recommend the Hoka Transport GTX! They will for sure be in my suitcase when I travel to my next destination.
I have several pairs of Hoka's. Most of my shoes are Bondi 8 and I love them. I wanted a pair of shoes that were sturdier than the Bondi 8 somI ordered a pair of Transport GTX. They are extremely comfortable, offer excellent support, and are waterproof. Initially they did make a clicking noise until I wore them a few times. Then they stopped clicking and provide support. They are firmer and provide a sturdier walk than the Bondi's but less cushion. They both have their attributes and I would buy another pair of both Transport GTX and Bondi 8 Hoka's.
I purchased these for lifestyle usage primarily, secondary for bicycle rides on urban trails. They GTX held up well during the wet spring months and heavy rainfall in the summers. I wear synthetic socks majority of the time and did not feel that my feet were very hot or sweaty. GTX does give the user a feeling that the shoe is stiff, but it does loosen off with regular wear. I purchased a 7.5 in the baby blue (not currently available) and was very disappointed because the fabric became stained on the tongue and fabric above the front of the foot. I wore them on a bike ride along gravel trails and the dust stained the shoe only in those two areas. I washed them with mild soap and water, and those two areas did not come clean. I ordered the same size as I would for my distance running.
I have been on the market in search of a waterproof pair of shoes. I love my Hoka Transport and I got it at size 8 women, my usual size. So when Hoka made a Transport GTX waterproof, it was a no brainer. However, my first order was a size 8, just like my Transport. It was too tight in the toebox area. It also actually feels not as "deep" like that Transport one I have. But I thought, maybe if I get the 8.5 one, it will feel better.8.5 arrived and I was so excited still. It was a bummer that all my issues with the size 8 one are still there despite the half sizing up. I compared my Transport on my left foot and the Transport GTX on my right foot. Transport was deeper and felt super comfortable, while the Transport GTX felt like my foot didn't have enough space to keep my foot in place (in the shoes). It just wasn't deep enough to make you feel secured.I went ahead and bought another transport to replace the one I have. Really want to love this waterproof version but just didn't meet the expectations, considering the Transport one was such a winner. They could have just stuck with the same Transport and made it waterproof. Don't know why they bothered changing whatever changes they made that made the GTX so poorly constructed.
