I am thrilled with my new Honeywell thermostat! I replaced my old air conditioner and wanted to upgrade my old, out of date, hard to read thermostat. I did loads of research online to find the highest customer satisfaction and the most colorful background with Wi-Fi enabled scheduling. After reviewing more than 12 alternative units, I decided I wanted the best this time. Once installed, the set up on the unit and the app on my phone was easy Peezy. After two weeks, I decided I wanted to add a weekly schedule, and was able to do that in about four minutes! The best part is, I can see the current temperature from my phone, anytime, anywhere, and make adjustments if needed. I am so glad I chose this model!

Adding tech to an 80 year old log cabin can be hit and miss. Installed an older model Honeywell wifi thermostat a few years ago and modified the wiring accordingly. After a major electrical issue, thermostat wouldn't always power up after a power outage. Replaced it with this premium Honeywell thermostat and all works perfect. Love the additional features like outdoor temp and weather display, and the option to switch from heat to cool automatically. Easy to read screen. Also works with IFTTT to do great stuff like one touch sets thermostat to an "away" setting while also shutting off the water heater and well pump. VERY HAPPY

The installation instructions for homeowners who already have 5 wire systems are straightforward, a very easy installation. However, if you have an older 4 wire system that supports the old Honeywell round thermostat or a thermostat that is battery operated, you may need an electrician to install this thermostat. TBF, the site indicates a "C" wire requirement, typical of 5 wire systems (who knew?). Since my electrician wanted $800 to fish a new 5 wire and install the required 24v transformer, I told him to get lost and went to YouTube for advice on using 4 wire with a 5 wire thermostat. There are a couple of extremely helpful videos, with a simple workaround that facilitated the install. There are a couple of extremely helpful videos, with a simple workaround that facilitated the install. I did lose some functionality since I can no longer control the fan motor separately from the heat or A/C control, definitely not a show-stopper. The burner control unit already had a 24v transformer installed, so I was good to go with the workaround. With the thermostat successfully installed, the device is very handy and easy to program, both on-screen and viable the downloadable app. I can't wait to try out the Alexa functionality. Not only would I recommend this thermostat, but I am also purchasing a second unit today for another zone.

Very easy to install, configure and operate. I wish the software wasn't as slow and cumbersome to use. The customization lacks quite a bit, although the different color backgrounds are a nice touch. Touch, it is not sensitive enough. To get it to recognize keypresses, you have to touch rather hard. Virtual keyboard entries are a pain. If you have a Wi-Fi password with multiple uppercase characters, you have to press the Shift or up-arrow key every entry because you cannot double-press the Shift key to keep it locked. Little details make a HUGE difference. Overall, the unit works as expected and having the app is great while away from home.
With any Wi-Fi enabled technology, it’s equally as important to include the app in your rating since after all, that’s probably half the reason you purchased the product. I am not going to lie, I’m pretty disappointed in my purchase. The hardware itself is perfectly fine. The screen is a bit smaller than I’d like but aside from that, it functions as it should, setup was relatively easy and it does its job just as well as my last Honeywell thermostat. The app however, is extremely outdated and has little to no features. I was expecting to see, at minimum, analytics regarding usage and run time. An added bonus would be the ability to enter details about your AC system which the app could then compute estimated energy usage, and more. Overall, the only difference between this thermostat and the Honeywell I had prior is; 1. Shows relative humidity. 2. Shows outside temperature and 3. I can now turn the temperature up or down while sitting on the couch rather than having to stand up and walk 2 feet. In my opinion, not worth $170 just so I can be lazy.
. I purchased a TH9320WF5003 through an HVAC contractor that installed it and a new heat pump in May 2021. Works great for cooling. Issue 1: Not critical but if the unit is running and I disconnect the thermostat from wifi the thermostat will shut the heat pump off. The thermostat remains operational. The installer has checked the voltage and it is correct. More critical issue: The heat pump has a two-stage compressor plus aux heat. When the temp gets below around 35 degrees F, the thermostat properly activates the second stage and sometimes the aux heat. However, when the indoor temp gets near or at the setpoint, the thermostat shuts off any aux heat and/or second stage. This causes the indoor temp not to reach a point where the unit shuts off. However, when the indoor temp gets near or at the setpoint, the thermostat shuts off any aux heat and/or second stage. This causes the indoor temp not to reach a point where the unit shuts off. As a result, it eventually goes into defrost mode, and cycles between single and two stage operation for 30-60 additional minutes until it somehow reaches a point where the thermostat is satisfied. Tech support this is normal for this thermostat and I should get a different thermostat if I'm not happy. This isn't normal to anyone I've spoken to.
We don't have regular hours. We don't wake up, go to sleep, leave or return to the house a the same time every day. I don't need a thermistat that "thinks" it's smarter than I am. I went through the process of disabling all the programming for every day, and STILL it resets the set temperature to 78 every day in the late afternoon. I mean ... what is UP with that!? It's annoying, and I'm an electronics engineer with decades of experience designing hardware and firmware for machines way more complicated than this product, and still the reason for this automatic and unwanted behavior eludes me ... so far. I like the appearance and the design of the various screens. I'm still reading the manual to discover why it's changing the set temperature by itself. The thermostat works. I have not had any problems with it. I gave it three stars because while it does work fine, it doesn’t really hold its own again other smart thermostats. Pros: -Works well -five year warranty since professionally installed Cons: -Touch screen sucks. I didn’t know they even made screens that still require pressure to register. The screen is not responsive. You often have to press with your finger nail to get it to register. - looks and feels cheap - the app is fairly limited in function and has an antiquated interface - you can’t change the name of your schedule events. It’s always wake up, leave, return, sleep. You can turn events off but can’t change the name - doesn’t gather data or statistics for you to see Despite my first world gripes. I recently had central air and heat installed in my home. The thermostat was provided as part of the package. I overall found the thermostat hard to use. 1) setting up was difficult as there are more than one honeywell thermostat apps in the app store. I downloaded 2 before I found the corresponding app for this thermostat. 2) Setting up the thermostat was confusing. 3) the touch screen is not sensitive enough. I have to almost pound on the buttons to get things programed and do it several times. I have resorted to only using the app to adjust or on/off of system which I find inconvenient. The color display is nice. The size is good, large enough to read the display. However, I would not purchase this item again, and if I had the ability to return it for something ... MoreI recently had central air and heat installed in my home. once properly set up - Works Great, additional set/programing instructions would be helpful. We live in a high rise using forced air. I thought the heat sensor on the thermostat was not functioning because it only blew cold air when on Heat. I went back through and changed the function during set up from from the Default Changover Value from Cooling "o" wire to the Heating "B" - then ran the system for 5 min. - then changed it back. For some reason then the heat worked. I did not move the thermostat wires - just made the change on the screen. I did have to go to youtube and searching the web to find others with same No Heat running from Set-up Programing Issues. Now that I have this one up and functioning - I will be putting them through out the apartment now that I see how well they can work. The ability to control the Thermostat from my phone App (TCC) is a Plus since working from home the apartment heats up during the day depending if we have full sun and I can fine tune it from my desk or tune it up a degree or two, as well, in the evening enjoying watching TV from the sofa having the ability to controlling from my phone. I will be working with Alexa soon. Setting up a Scheduling Program from the APP vs the thermostat is simpler and can adjust quickly. I am only using two schedules since we are at home. I have it turn down the heat for sleep and turn it up just before we get up.
