Ok must admit last time i purchased this drink the colour of the container was orange so that really confused me!! but inside the contents are just the same!!! Horlicks traditional malt is a great tasting milky malty which is nice and creamy!! for me i find this product is sweet enough and i do not need to add sugar!! great drink all round !! Always felt this drink was good for you whether it is or not i don't know

4 wk shelf life

I noticed it says use within 4 weeks of opening. I contacted Horlicks, they said correct. No more Horlicks for me then. Hate the plastic jar aswell.

A great hot lovely tasting drink

Absolutely brilliant bedtime hot drink or anytime hot drink which aids restful sleep. I have noticed a real difference in my sleep patterns since drinking Horlicks up to two hours before I go to sleep. Lovely tasting.

A tried and trusted product over decades, excellent value for money

We've used this product for years. Buying it in the 2kg tins is much better value for us as we are huge consumers of this product. A tried and trusted product over many years, Horlicks is a helpful and satisfying hot drink with lovely malted flavour whenever required. We highly recommend and will continue to purchase.

Different product

I have been drinking Horlicks virtually all my life, but in the last couple of years it has changed completely. It now has very little taste, not the malty flavour as in the past, and is a paler colour. I recently realised why; it is now made by a different company - Aimia , not GSK who used to produce it. They have taken over the Horlicks name but not the original recipe. I don?t see how they can legitimately call it ?Original? when it is nothing like the original product.

I used to love Horlicks. It's been a while since I had it but it's not as nice as it used to be. Something's changed. I used to eat it by the spoonful, but not any more, it seems to be sickly sweet now and not as 'creamy'. I'm very disappointed.

End of an era

I previously used to like Horlicks, however one day it just wasn't quite right. Perturbed, I contacted the company. Their response for the difference i was detecting was, according to them because, the old machine that used to make it, and which had been used for years, had to be replaced.I haven't purchased it since.

I wanted to drink a "malted" that I used to have when I was growing up in Brooklyn. Malteds are simply not available in New York City anymore. That amazes me. Milkshakes are nowhere near as good. So, I bought the Horlicks, got some good vanilla ice cream, added a half cup of milk, and blended it until it got foamy. It tasted exactly like I remembered from my childhood. I also made a chocolate malted by adding Droste's powdered cocoa, and that was also great. Remember to chill the blender container in the freezer before you start.

Just as good as Asda Instant malt drink

I like the taste of malted barley.I bought all three so I could compare them - Horlicks, Ovaltine, Asda Instant malt drink.Whilst Asda Instant malt drink can be made with wayer, if it is made with milk instead than it's as nice as Horlicks [when Horlicks is also made with milk]. They are both very nice indeed.Whilst Ovaltine has more than double the amount of malted barley than either of these, Ovaltime includes cocoa and its taste overwhelms the nice malted barley taste so I can't be bothered with it.Asda Instant malt drink, including its milk, costs 28p a mug.Horlicks, including its milk, costs 33p a mug.Ovaltime, including its milk, costs 39p a mug.

what happened?!

So I saw other peoples reviews which were mainly negative however I chose to go ahead and buy this thinking I had not had horlicks since I was a child and so I dont really remember what to expect well I was totally wrong! I made it up with water at first which I thought was why it tasted so bad however I decided to remake it again with milk as per instructions and it made no difference! Was tasteless, couldnt taste the malt and hardly any sweetness! Very disappointed and even though I had it last as a child I remember it wasnt like this!
