Bought this for our son as his first train set. It's a really lovely product. Plenty of track to create different set-ups and the detail on both the locomotive and carriages is excellent.

Worked for five minutes and then light went off and stopped working. Have checked all pieces of track. Piece of cheap junk that should sell for 50. There is no quality in this at all. Soooo disappointed, and so is my child. Unfortunately it was a gift so can't even get a refund. DO NOT waste your coin on this plastic junk!

the contents of the package are good value for money but the care taken by the courier to deliver the package undamaged leaves a great deal to be desired.4 stars as the box has a four inch gash caused by very careless handing.

Train and carriages were perfect. The track was not as I remembered as a child. It was difficult to assemble, fishplates were small and hard to align.
I remember when I got my first trainset. It was none other than the flying Scotsman, sure it was 5 years ago, but the point is, is that this trainset has only gotten better. For some reason, people think that the only good trainsets there are for beginners are the 0-4-0s. I am strongly against this, as I got this trainset when I was young and had no problems putting it on the track. The set has three good LNER Teak coaches, good 3rd radius track and a great model of the flying Scotsman to go with.
It’s a great set and it’s nice to see the newest version of Flying Scotsman is Loco driven.But with the price increase (again)It would have been nice to have all wheel pick up and have the Tender wheels pick up as wellThe only pickups are on the Main driving wheels.Other than the price and the pickup situation,It’s a great set.
My other half absolutely adores it, the quality of the track is just perfect! He’s yet to leave the spare bedroom!
When my husband and I got engaged, my husband sold his train set to buy my ring. For our 50th wedding anniversary I bought this train to replace it.He loves it and has so many plans to add to it and extend it.A great gift for all ages and very good value.
Disappointing. Engine runs for 100 mm then quits. Tracks intact. Fortunately other Xmas gifts worked. I bought a battery peered train set that works as long as battery lasts. Unhappy child turned happy with 4 aaa batteries and simplicity
over all the trains are a quality item. one flaw is the controllers are poorly made considering its a new model its doesn't do well for flying scotsman. 3 years using that controller I had to change the motor. even if its expensive for the love I have I will buy. please do make a quality controller
