I was hesitant to purchase due to the price, but this is what my 6 year old asked Santa for as his "big toy." The product does ship in the packaging, which clearly shows what the item is. UPS was kind enough to hide this item so as to not ruin the surprise. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was fairly easy to put together and feels sturdy once completed. There are slots to attach additional track around the base, so you can easily expand play and build a larger track. I love that not only does it have the motorized elevator, but it also includes ample storage for cars. It really is a showpiece toy. The only cons that i have found so far involved the motorized portion. Only cars of a certain length can fit through the top part of the elevator. When bigger/longer cars get stuck it makes a grinding/clicking sound. I worry about little fingers trying to get the stuck cars out themselves. I have instructed my son to just shut it off when that happens. Also, there is a large gorilla that is slowly pushed up as the elevator turns, when he gets to the top, he falls down the shaft to start the process again. He is pretty heavy and could hit someone on the head if they were playing on the floor and not looking up.

The Hot Wheels Super Ultimate Garage was an instant hit with my rambunctious nephew for the sheer size of the box alone! His eyes popped with anticipation as soon as he saw this box and he could not wait for us to unbox and set it up. My nephew has virtually every type of toy in existence and at 7 years old his attention span still consistently moves from one toy to the next rather quickly. That changed with bringing this toy into the mix! Prior to adding this garage he had multiple small hot wheel sets and an ample amount of cars although none held his interest for long. With this garage, as soon as he comes over; this is the first toy he reaches for and the last he wants to play with before he leaves. Then start the fun all over again watching them go down the slides! In addition you can attach other sets to them if you already have tracks from other sets! The gorilla and plane add to the excitement and having the cars pop from the plane adds another element of fun and imaginative play to the mix!Its extremely fun to watch the engagement in his little face and also making it a learning game as we try to guess the rate the cars will go up and down depending on their size and shape!Overall, I’d definitely recommend this toy for boys and girls of all ages and I feel it has enough cool gadgets to keep even the most boisterous kids entertained!

Funny how all of the 5 stars got the item for free
3 August 2023

This was a gift from my sister in law. I didnt receive it "for free for my review" like many of the reviewers here -- who all gave this item 5 stars. my son barely played with it because he always needed my help unjamming a car or making the ape properly work. please save your money and don't listen to these people who say it was "hours of fun" because it's not - it's "hours of frustration".

My boys love it!
15 July 2022

I really like this garage! My 5.5 and 2.5 years old boys enjoy it so much! What I like: -fairy easy to put together; -hold tons of hot wheels cars; -you can make a race of 2 cars and see which one comes first; What I don’t like: - a bit noisy but with such a huge elevator it is expected; - sometimes cars stuck in the elevator. Also it’s expected as cars have so many shapes; - take a lot of space but it holds so many cars. So it’s better to have cars in one place than all over the floor. All dislikes are not a deal breaker. If you have hot wheels lovers at home you should get it!

My honest opinion
25 February 2021

To be completely honest, your kids will love this thing. My 8 year old son “bought” this for his 4 year old brothers birthday in November. It’s been a few months and they play with it multiple times a day. My opinion of the thing: overpriced & oversized car storage. As of a few weeks ago the gorilla does not go up the tower anymore and never really served a purpose. It’s SUPPOSED to knock cars off the elevator but design doesn’t really allow for that to happen. Only thing it really does is make noise. It does thump down pretty hard and the motor is noisy like other reviewers said. Other than that it’s kind of boring. A few ramps for cars to slide down which is cool, but one of the levels is like a service station that lacks an actual imagination to “service” the ... MoreTo be completely honest, your kids will love this thing. They could’ve done so much more with this area and the area on the base to make it more fun to play and pretend with. Reminder it is huge! Takes up a lot of space. Fairly easy to put together, and has stayed together considerably well with use and being moved forward cleaning. I read the reviews on multiple sights and was iffy about spending that much on this thing. Lo and behold a few days later target discounted it and I had an additional discount that applied so bought it at a much better price. However I’ll admit I still tried to persuade my son to buy his brother a different gift. He just got lucky I was able to get it cheaper otherwise I would’ve never bought this.

One Design Flaw Ruins it All

This would be a great action play set for kids IF IT ACTUALLY FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY, BUT IT DOESN'T. After an hour of assembly the hope is that all the pieces and machinery function properly to get the full value out of nearly $200 you're paying for. Unfortunately, that's entirely depends on the quality of the cheap mold casting job you get from the manufacturing process. In my case one distinct problem in the gearing unit to the tower and poor molding to the spiral is causing the Gorilla (at figure the kids would love) to FAIL TO CLIMB THE SPIRAL TO THE TOP OF THE TOWER. The orange spiral is arced in the center causing lots of friction for the wheel attached to the Gorilla leg to roll upwards. The orange spiral is arced in the center causing lots of friction for the wheel attached to the Gorilla leg to roll upwards. This causes the wheel to cease up stopping the spiral in the machine and preventing the gorilla from climbing the tower to the top every time. I've tried bending the casted gorilla foot in to place, cute the toes off to prevent them from colliding with the arc, even lubing the spiral but nothing has worked. Those praising this garage set likely were lucky not to get a flaw in the casting. But the fact is by purchasing the Super Ultimate Garage is taking a chance on getting something to fail that distinctly ruins the value and features' kids love in this play set. You can't see the bend in the spiral through poor display pictures, wonder why? I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS PLAY SET AGAIN AND STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM DOING IT.

Set encourages hours of creative fun
21 December 2020

This Garage Play set is HUGE. The best part is the racing feature. The kids love how the loser car get's flipped off. If the spiral motor is turned on, the cars can go round and round without interruption. The directions were clear and assembly was relatively easy but took about 1 hour. My only complaints are: King Kong and the spiral moves fairly slowly, there is a lot of wasted space between the main structure and the spiral, and 3 of the levels are redundant with no special features. One level has a the plane, one has the car repair shop. If one or two other levels contained something interactive it would have made it really great. One other nitpick is the airplane is too difficult for kids to remove. Otherwise my kids have played for hours and hours every day ... MoreThis Garage Play set is HUGE. The track is easy to play with and stays together really well. It also is a great place to store other Hot Wheels cars when not in use. This is a fantastic toy that will provide hours of entertainment. My son plays with it daily, so it's definitely not one of those toys that will just be forgotten about. The Hot Wheels Super Ultimate Garage Play Set is great value for money!

So many fun features!
27 December 2020

I got this for my 8 year old for Christmas. It was his favorite gift and he has played with it every day since. His favorites parts are the gorilla that climbs the side tower and drops when it gets to the top and the raceways. It also stores ALOT of cars. My husband said it was easy to put together, only took about 20 minutes (and much of that time was getting all the pieces out of the box) and there were only about 7 stickers to apply. The negatives are that this item is very large and takes up quite a lot of floor space. It's also best to have 2 people to move it, especially if it is full of cars. My son also wishes the plane on top could be removed at will, but it is permanent. It is a very sturdy set though and stays together when moved.
