I thought this powder would be an incredible addition to my collection because it sounds right up my alley, but I am left with more questions than anything. I have the mini and itâs so hard to get product on my brush because of the raised sides of the component around the actual powder. The product is tiny but that wasnât the problem for me. Once I finally do get some on my brush, itâs just very anti-climactic to apply. It doesnât look good on me, if it is even detectable due to how impossible it is to get onto the brush. Iâve even tried using it only on the high points of my face and it still doesnât flatter me at all. This powder confuses me and I donât get the hype. I have finishing powders I like WAY more, this one is gathering dust in my collection.

I have been wanting to buy this for a long time. I have had limited Christmas pallete editions, but never an individual powder. I chose the color Diffused light, which goes well with my light skin tone. I did not notice it being glittery, it provides a lovely blurred glow to the skin, especially on the pictures. Quite expensive, but there is a decent amount of product as well, and you only need a little to cover whole face. I am not sure if this would be suitable for oily skin though, as it does not matify, and even on my normal skin I noticed some shine on the days where I did not apply setting powder underneath it. So it is really more for appearance effect than setting.

I never use face powder. This Ambient lighting powder is so much more. I dust this all over to set my face and give the most stunning glow all over. Doesnât cake. Doesnât look dry. Itâs the best face âpowderâ Iâve ever used. My only regular repeat purchase in the complexion category. Itâs more expensive than others but it lasts for so long. My more mature skin canât take heavy powders - even the very famous LM translucent powder looks powdery and cakey on me. Not this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder - luminous light. Utterly gorgeous. I have tried some other shades which can seem glittery. My review is based on the shade âLuminous Lightâ

Iâve heard great things about Hourglass! However, I am confused. Donât get me wrong, i love this product. I used to think that their powders are finely milled, will blend into your skin seamlessly, and make your skin look as if thereâs ambient light shining on your face consistently. Hahaha. In my experience. This powder provides great coverage. It actually SITS on the skin, more than being blended in. (I have a friend who made the same comment!!) A little is needed for coverage under the eyes, on the cheeks, etc. Too much and it could look cakey. Also, hourglass is one of the brands where I can really use up the powders and hit pan - does it mean that the product is loosely packed? They are v expensive and use up quite quickly if you use them consistently!
First off - this is NOT a product that will deposit a lot of color. If you're looking for a pigmented blush or bronzer, look elsewhere. This is meant to give a finishing touch, something to subtly improve the overall look of your complexion. As such, every shade targets some specific issue, such as lackluster skin, redness, etc. This is basically a Zoom filter in a box.For reference, I have a light skin with neutral undertones. I used Dim Light as an overall finishing powder FOR YEARS, applying it with a big fluffy brush over foundation or on a clean face. I still love the effect it gives me, though on non-makeup days recently I opt for the Dior Backstage to get a bit of a coverage.Radiant Light, however, is my absolute favorite . I apply it with a pointed powder brush. For me, it functions as a very subtle bronzer - it doesn't look like an outright bronzer, it just makes my skin look so much healthier and radiant (as one might expect).
I wasnât sure what to expect from the reviews but tried anyway. Essentially it is a product that diffuses the light and imperfections in your skin. Itâs not a product that will give you a lot of coverage but thatâs not the purpose. Iâm not sure why people said this product was too dark. Itâs not that dark and certainly doesnât bronze you. Iâm not completely sure what the difference is between this and the other shades/versions. They are different colours but once applied they sort of seemed to give the same effect. It might require more trial and error on my part. Overall I now use this every day to set my final make up and a little extra on any imperfections
This powder reminds me of one from the brand Essence and that one is a fraction of the price. It's very powdery but does give a nice subtle highlight if used with setting spray. I found the best way to use this was to have a very very hydrated base and use a light layer of foundation otherwise it can get cakey very quickly. The packaging is very beautiful and is my favourite thing about the product. You can display this on your vanity or pop in your handbag as there is a mirror inside which I find very handy. Overall, wouldn't recommend to a friend for the price. This powder reminds me of one from the brand Essence and that one is a fraction of the price. Currently on the hunt for the powder I want to use for my wedding day⊠this may be it! Firstly, the packaging is stunning. It looks and feels luxurious. Great colour selection and I just find the product interesting as well. I have combinations skin, so I find I use this only in certain places like my cheeks and chin and nose. My forehead gets oily the quickest so I prefer to use something else there as this does light reflect, I would also say I donât really like it under my eyes for some reason. Itâs just making my under eyes look very dry and breaking up my concealer (the hourglass one) not sure why but I will experiment with different tools to make it work! Anyways apart from that itâs great!!
This is a gorgeous product, thankfully I got it before the price hike I paid $75 its now $90!!! Absolutely no chance I will repurchase this for $90 - so ridiculous! I will look elsewhere other than Mecca if I decide to repurchase this. This product imparts a subtle glow to the skin, its very lightweight and not heavy or cakey. Im not generally into powder products, however I do like this, I actually like to wear it by itself when I'm going to uni and don't want to do a full make up look it gives my skin a nice glow. Also their is some glitter in this but not much and its only detectable if you put a torch/light source against it which for me doesn't really count as it does not show up as glittery on the skin at all. its more like velvet glow veil - literally the ... MoreThis is a gorgeous product, thankfully I got it before the price hike I paid $75 its now $90!!! I love this! It's like your skin is healthy and glazed but I use this as a highlighter. Only putting this at the highest points of my face. I haven't tried using it as a finishing powder where I need to put it all over my face. I'm scared tho. This has fine shine but I still see tiny bits of glitter but promise it's not glittery. You can be a glazed donut if you build this up. I wanna try this as a setting powder cause I saw from others that it has a blurring effect, maybe I just need to use it with the right brush and gotta learn some techniques.
