At first glance this packaging is elegant and the weight of it in my hand just screams luxury. Inside you’ll find your beautiful pressed powder and a very soft puff applicator. I love the way it blurs my under eyes which is a huge problem for me usually since I suffer from an autoimmune disease that has wrecked havoc on my under eyes. If you are hunting for a new powder I would for sure give this a try.

A stand-out powder for setting and touch-ups

I normally don't post reviews but I really like this powder and I think you will too. I did NOT get this item for free so this is my honest opinion. This powder is silky smooth and applies like a dream. It's mattifying but still has a satin finish that is not too chalky or drying. I apply this everywhere except for the undereye area since I use a separate powder that is not as mattifying in that area. It has a very sheer tint on the skin that is not perceptible unless you apply a very thick layer. Hourglass powders are always a stand-out and this is no exception. Bonus: I appreciate the large mirror inside the compact which is very handy for to-go touch ups. 5/5 ***** Would definitely recommend to those who are oily or have combination skin.

Great as part of an hourglass product look

I use the Ambient powders and have done for many years since their release. I’m cautious about powders which risk settling into lines or pores so the ambients are amazing at not doing that. In no rush to replace but the reviews made me want to explore this new pressed powder.I use it along with other hourglass products and find it very effective for helping blot (set) the t zone. It’s a very soft and fine milled powder and it definitively helps longevity in areas where I am prone to oil.It’s not cakey and a lot easy to have to hand than the more oil absorbing loose powder. For on the go I will use this but will also keep the ambient on the go. This one really helps on concealer where the ambient is just a little too pearlescent. Holy grail!!!

This is a new staple powder for me now! I cannot fault it....except that it is expensive, but I'd still repurchase because I was really impressed with how little you need to use and ease of application. I applied it around 5:30am and when I got home at about 4:30pm, it still looked great!! (Although Benefit's Porefessional setting spray probably helped too!) But it really did give an airbrushed finish. My skin looked flawless all day! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes setting powder. I think this is even better than CT and I love that setting powder. They're both great, but this one is more practical to take out in your handbag. Hourglass you have got to be kidding me with this.

I can't believer I paid for this garbage. In now way does this powder control shine (a common issue in the already published reviews) and I have dry skin too. Oily girls you will get nothing and I repeat nothing from this powder. This powder accentuates every patch of texture on your face.The puff? Very rough and does not distribute the powder evenly. Very very cheap puff. Another piece of garbage, I tried using my hourglass powder brush, that was better for distribution.I love hourglass and own several palettes, the veil powder, etc but this product is HUGE disappointment especially for the now raised price (now $54 instead of the initial $48).Save you money and buy the ambient lighting finishing powder(s).I am not surprised by all these glowing reviews if ... MoreI can't believer I paid for this garbage. LOVE this pressed powder!

I have to start by saying that Hourglass is one of my favorite brands, so I was extremely excited to try the Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder. First, I have to mention the beautiful and luxurious packaging. It is not only beautifully packaged, but it is also extremely travel friendly. The actual package is lovely. I appreciate how they included a puff applicator to the side of the product. I like when it’s on the side, so it isn’t always touching the product(this is a huge bonus for me). I also appreciate how it has a good size mirror. It makes it the perfect pressed powder for on the go and for travel. I have mostly dry skin, but get oily sometimes in certain areas on my face throughout the day, so this pressed powder is perfect for me. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t look cakey on me. Since the powder is so silky and lightweight, it also doesn’t make my skin feel dry. It blends and melts seamlessly onto my skin. If I need an all over touch up, I use a brush. If I need small touchups, I use the puff applicator it comes with. I love that when I apply the powder it doesn’t disrupt any makeup I have on underneath. It gives an airbrushed finish and melts into my skin. I usually use it under my eyes, and middle of my face, then throughout the day I use it on my T zone. It doesn’t settle into any fine lines, and it gives me instant and all day shine control. I HIGHLY recommend this Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder by Hourglass!

Love Hourglass

I’ll start by saying I have used dozens of powders from drugstore to luxury, all claiming to be airbrushing/blurring and very few actually leave me looking airbrushed- and if they do it’s a short lived look of perfection. I still continue to try new powders though but my trusty RCMA no color powder has yet to be beat. I decided to try this new hourglass pressed powder since I love their other products and having a good pressed powder for on the go is always a good idea. I chose translucent since it’s the safest shade on my very fair neutral skin tone. I should also mention that I have drier skin and am in my 30s so I don’t have perfectly smooth flawless skin. I wanted to see how this would perform under the eyes and just the areas I needed the blur affect- nose, chin, the T-zone- so I did not use this all over the face to set my makeup, I still use RCMA for all that (seriously just buy it if you’re a makeup guru like me, you’ll love it and the bottle lasts years!)Under the eyes I will say it does look pretty, I used a light amount with a small powder brush and it temporally smoothed everything out and gave a nice brightening effect. However creases did show up but the rest of my under eye area stayed smooth and bright for hours later even after attending a very windy baseball game. The rest of the areas I used it on actually looked really good, lines diminished, pores were blurred, and best of all I didn’t notice any dryness peaking through but I do exfoliate and moisturize pretty well during prep. While I don’t think this powder is anything revolutionary I will say that it lasted longer than any other powder I’ve tried that makes the same claims. It didnt feel heavy/cakey and it didn’t cause me to break out. However applying multiple layers or thick layers do start to look cakey so use it sparingly.I do hope that in the future Hourglasss will sell the refill option so I don’t have a bunch of empty useless compacts, a cheaper refill pan option would be great!

Not a patch on the ambient lighting formula.

I know it’s not technically a mattifying powder but the hourglass ambient lighting ethereal light powder is my go to. I thought I’d try this, but honestly it’s rubbish. Firstly there’s hardly any product, but the package is large and chunky (sadly just plastic and a fingerprint magnet like their other compacts), mainly due to the puff inside (does anyone actually apply their face powder with a tiny puff like this? I expect most people including myself use a big fluffy brush.Powder is more mattifying than some of the ambient lighting ones, but not completely. Still a very sheer coverage and can’t really be built up. It says translucent but I am very pale and it made me look yellow (lightest shade)It’s a good powder but not a game changer. This may seem like a minor detail, but I am someone who prefers to give my puffs a quick cleaning at the end of the day. This layout allows me to store the puff without worrying that it may be transferring bacteria or oil into the powder itself (then I can easily clean it at the end of the day). Brilliant design. This does seem to be less coverage compared to the OG loose powder, and yet I did notice that their claims of an airbrushed finish seem to be true. It certainly does reduce shine as well, and yet it is not drying, making me suspect this may indeed be the rare case of a powder that works on all skin types.I did notice a bit of kickback when I tried using this product with a brush. I feel you might want to know this detail if you are looking for more oil-control or more coverage, as this also seems to pick up more product.Overall, I think it's a welcome release, and it's great to have a talc-free option for those avoiding that ingredient.
