Hourglass Ultra Black Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara 10g

I got this as a sample one time and fell in love with it. My favorite part is the formula. I did not know what tubing mascaras were until I tried this. I love how easy it is to get off at night, because I HATE having racoon eyes that I have to scrub off after removing normal mascara. But that's not a problem with this! The latex-ey like formula coats the lashes and just comes right off with warm water. But it doesn't smear or flake off throughout the day! With that said, my only 2 complaints are #1: the packaging (sometimes the little inner rubber part sticks to the cap when you pull the wand out instead of sticking to the bottle, and it makes your entire wand come out gooped in mascara. Then turn to the left a little and try to pull out the wand again.) #2 This mascara does clump the lashes together in a term of what some would call "spider lashes" but I honestly don't think it's that bad. Just run the tube under warm water for 20 seconds, shake it, then open it. ** With that being said, I've started trying other, cheaper, drug-store tubing mascaras and I feel like you could find something similar for WAYYY cheaper. I am currently using maybelline's snapscara. I also heard that No. 7 tubing mascara is good.

This mascara + grande lash growth serum + a lash lift are a game changer! Someone actually thought I was wearing lash extensions - not a comment I’ve ever come close to receiving in my life! I’ve never felt one way or another about a mascara before, since the most I could ask for was that it not smudge and hold a curl on my short asian lashes. Of course no product is miraculously going to mimic the look of falsies for me, but that’s also not the type of look I’ll ever go for. This is still dramatic enough for every day, in my opinion!

Absolute holy grail — if you get a good one

I absolutely adore this mascara. I’d used a drugstore tubing mascara for 10+ years, occasionally trying a new higher-end one only to find they flaked or were hard to scrub off or some other downside. I tried this on a whim in 2020 and have been absolutely hooked ever since. It takes just one coat to make a huge impact, and it absolutely stays put until you’re ready to take it off — at which point it comes off SO EASILY.The one big con is that there’s a huge lack of consistency between tubes. I heard rumors of a batch issue several months ago, but I never experienced it until recently. I’ve been through five tubes with absolutely no problem, and now I’m struggling to replace it. I so badly hope it wasn’t a misguided formula change or a permanent issue.

Disappointing

I’ve wanted to try this mascara for ages and so when a mini was finally available I jumped at the chance. Now I’m happy that I didn’t buy the full size product. I love tubing mascaras. Having oily lids they are the only ones that save me from flaky panda eyes. However this one is not good. True there’s no flaking but it’s so clumpy and it doesn’t hold a curl at all so you end up with spindly spider lashes. I tried to comb some of the clumps out and ended up losing a couple of lashes. Now this was my first experience with this mascara so I’ll definitely give it another go and try wiping most of the product of the wand to see if that makes any difference, but first impressions are not good. Good mascara, but..

This is a good mascara if you have perfectly even lashes on both eyes. If you're someone who has uneven lashes - it may be hard to make this work. The first coat you apply makes the lashes pointing straight down and highlights unevenness. The only way I could use it is by applying a little bit first, then waiting a bit for it to dry (like 10-15 seconds), then building on top of it. Only then it clings on the lashes and builds volume and I can make it curl a little bit. My eyelashes are not even on both sides and I have hard time using this mascara, to be frank I absolutely hate it, it doesn't work for me, but it's not a bad product. Great wand for natural separated lashes

This is a lovely mascara for nice separated natural lashes. This mascara is definitely more lengthening than volumising which is what I prefer. The wand is a slim silicone style which is great and doesn’t clump the lashes at all. I only apply one coat though. The packaging is beautiful and pretty weighty. Tubing mascaras are pretty easy to remove which is always a positive but then I’m used to normally wearing waterproof. I just wish this came in brown as I prefer that to black. I’ve taken a star off for that. There should be more brown mascaras available for those who find black a little too harsh.

Not lengthening but clumping and dry!

I just got this mascara today with high hopes. I have no lashes at all and I most of all wanted lots of length. If you’re looking for a mascara to build lashes, this is NOT the one. I put a couple of coats on and not only did it not do what it claims to do - lengthen - it also clumped my lashes. So I had short stubby lashes in the end. Very disappointed. Used it just once and that’s what happened. The formula itself also goes on DRY. It feels like it’s an OLD tube of mascara that’s dried up instead of a brand new mascara! New mascara has a wet liquid formula. Not this one. I’m dead serious. I previously used L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara which is less than half the price and it was way better. Perfect for fuss-free/super sensitive eyes

I have super sensitive eyes. I’ve thrown out countless mascaras from stinging/burning eyes. I had been using the Eye of Horus mascara (which I love - no sting!) but some days it would smudge beneath my eyes. Not a good look. I had worn tubular mascara years ago but forgotten about it, so when I found this product I was excited to give it a go. No stinging and no smudging. So easy to take off. I do it in the shower; I wet my fingers and very gently remove the tubes from eyelashes. They come off in seconds and there’s nothing left on my face. I don’t even have to use eye makeup remover (which can also aggravate my eyes.) For anyone with sensitive eyes, or people sick of the smudge, I would definitely give this one a go. Great for hooded eyes. Great for extreme length and sensitive eyes. This mascara, a lip, and a brow looks like a full face of gorgeous makeup.Usually there’s always a drawback.Clean formulas tend to transfer on my deep set eyes and smudge everywhere. Waterproof doesn’t transfer from my extra long lower lashes but damages the lashes over time. Many are difficult to clean off, and may even hurt my contact lenses when removing at night.
