It was more yellow than I expected. The top also fit odd—there was a lot of extra fabric that would fill out nicely with a larger bust (I’m ~B cup). The corset part feels great and the strings on the back allow you to further tighten for even more of a snatched look, but the top is so strange I’m returning. Also, the straps don’t adjust, so I can see this being problematic for someone’s shoulders. Fabric felt okay, had a good weight and was also light and airy. Wish this worked out!

I bought this dress from the House of CB website. As I had never purchased from this brand before, and their dresses are not cheap, I paid close attention to their sizing guide, even getting out my measuring tape to double check that my measurements were accurate. I am right in the middle of their size small according to their sizing guide, if anything, on the smaller end of the measurements. So, imagine my surprise when I receive this dress and can barely zip it up over my waist - 26.5" when their small goes up to a 28" waist - and then could not manage to zip the dress up my ribcage at all - my bra size is a 32D, I do not have a broader than average ribcage. I reached out to their customer service to ask if this is an anomaly, or if I should exchange the dress for a medium. Their response was completely unacceptable, I will copy a part of it here:"...our size chart is designed to serve as a guide to choose your size based on your measurements (it doesn't reflect the flat measurements of each item), the fitting can vary depending on stretch factor, internal boning, etc since each item is unique, it also depends on each body type."Essentially, they are writing that their sizing chart cannot be used to accurately gauge a size to be purchased. Also, if you know anything about sewing, you would know that stretch factor, boning, 'etc'... should be taken into account when patterning a garment. All clothes are sewn by people, there is no a machine that sews clothes, so a variance is expected, but not by this wide of a margin. However, every other brand in existence has been able to manage patterning garments that adhere to somewhat standard sizing.DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BRAND. And if you do, do so from a store like Nordstrom that covers returns... House of CB does not cover return shipping and requires items be shipped signature required, so this return is going to cost me $20+... I asked for a prepaid return label, as I did everything a consumer can be expected to do to buy an item that is an accurate fit, but House of CB declined to send one.

The bodice of this dress is so beautifully made, and I love the thick, crisp fabric. It’s a shame that the design is so poor. The size small fit my waist (29inch waist…usually not a size small) but I had a solid 6 inches at the top that wouldn’t close. I sized up to the medium plus cup and it was now too big on my waist, but still 6 inches at the top that wouldn’t close. The cups are bizarrely designed. If you have any movement it’s not going to fit correctly or securely. I’d suggest they make the corset lacing in the back functional to allow for my variance in size where people need it more and that they hide a shelf bra in the front to provide support.

Love this dress! Was well worth the big purchase. Tried most styles of the House of CB dresses for a wedding and landed on this one. Dress fits slightly funny when off the rack however ALL of the ties, even in the front bust area, are purposeful! You have to adjust according to your chest. If you are a full B cup you should be able to fill it out with adjustment. I wore mine with a strapless bra so I could feel more secure and it made the girls GIRL. Other than that, the length of dress would better suit someone that’s approx 5’7, but it looks fine with heels as I am 5’5. Highly recommend.
It has been so hard to find a graduation dress because I have a very small frame but large bust ( size 28H) So I honestly didn’t have much hope for this dress, but it fit like a glove! The material is very thick and not see through, and there’s enough room to wear a strapless bra without it showing. For reference I am 5’6 and I weigh 115 lbs and ordered the small plus cup. (measurements: 36in bust, 24in waist, 36in hip)
The fabric felt nice and sturdy, and I loved the print but the sizing was so bad. I followed the size chart and ordered a size Small (I am typically a 4 or 6). The waist was so tight I could not even zip it all the way up. There is no stretch or give in the back so the corset is useless. The bust was huge, it was gaping a lot and there was so much extra fabric even after cinching it as tight as I could (I am a B cup). Sizing up won't help because my bust won't fit it regardless.
I wanted to love this dress so badly! Let me start by saying I assumed I would safely be an XS because I have a 24.5 in waist and my bra size is a 30B. I'm 5'7" and 110 lbs. I could not go the life up me zip this dress up even after removing all tension in the corset detailing.Even so, the cups were not attached to any portion of the corset or back of this garment so even if I got into this dress the top would be completely open to anyone taller than me.I was massively disappointed by the fit of this dress but also the large polyester composition for the price tag. I would recommend anyone considering this dress to find a dupe on Amazon for the construction and fiber quality
I have wanted this dress for months, and I finally had an excuse to get it! I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding this weekend, the perfect occasion to spend a little extra money on a beautiful dress. Now- this dress IS beautiful, I looked amazing with the corset and it fit my body wonderfully. That is, until the reception. After wearing this dress for only 3 hours THE STRAP POPPED OFF. The corset kept the dress on, so we didn't have a disastrous malfunction but the the stitches ripping out really sucked. Luckily we had an emergency sewing kit to toss a couple of stitches in for the remaining pictures. This is unacceptable, I had never worn the dress before and I wasn't doing anything crazy enough to warrant the loss of a strap. So yes, this is a beautiful ... MoreI have wanted this dress for months, and I finally had an excuse to get it! Well made, but runs small. I bought my usual size in this brand but was unable to fully zip it up. Also the bust area is not particularly flattering and has minimal support. Even so, it is a nice quality of fabric and well made. The corset component is lovely.
I’m shocked. After reading the reviews on this dress I wasn’t expecting much, but holy cow. The material is thick and structured and double lined so the white is extremely opaque. I will say I think the house of CB dresses tend to run on the “smaller” side in the waist because they’re supposed to have a corset effect. I am a 34DD, 26 inch waist and the small D/E cup size fit me like a dream. I’m so excited to wear it. If you need support you could probably put like sticky boobs in the top as it adjusts, but has little lifting support. I feel snatched and confident in the dress, House of CB’s quality has definitely come a long way.
