The filter provides excellent polarisation, but is so slim that it is difficult to release once it is screwed into place! A couple of times it has taken me a number of minutes to be able to get a good enough grip on it to unscrew it. My advice is to stop screwing it in as soon as you feel the very first resistance!

Great clean filter which perfectly fitted to my lens. Thank you.

Quite a useful addition to have in bag although it has quite a gradual polarising effect.Have a UV filter on for lens protection and the polarising filter has locked in place when added to UV and because it is thin with rotational ring can be difficult to slacken to remove.I have had to remove both filters together and lightly tap to separate. Overall pleasing results.

I got this filter with a voucher after a shipping error, and I'm happy with it. It's like a new one and I use it with my film camera. It lets me control reflection and highlights before taking the shot and so it really enhances the pictures.
I bought this 77 mm CPL based upon the manufacturer's adds proclaiming that this CPL had superior light transmission. Compared to my older Pro Master HGX CPL (2461) there is little if any difference. They are nearly twins and make similar quality claims. Camera light meter shows no increase in light transmission into the camera. However, the Pro master is a bit cheaper and you might want to look at it too.
Overall is fine, slim, no scratch mint condition. It could be fasten but is just could not be tighten & locked when mount over the lens. What I am saying is the rim to fasten the filter over the lens will keep rotate and will not stop. But when you try to pull the filter outwards, it will not dismount. Just the sense of insecurity.
It's not as dark as most polarizers so is good for slower zoom lenses. It's also very light weight which is good if you want to keep weight to a minimum, however, the frame is VERY thin and is very difficult to grip when removing it and the frame can distort if you squeeze it too hard making it even harder to remove. If you leave it "permanently" attached to a UV filter it's easier to put on/take off (but that negates its light weight). I'd recommend a filter with a beefier frame that's easier to put on and remove unless you really like this glass (which is good) and don't mind dealing with the ultra thin frame.
Hoya makes excellent filters but what is very nice about their polarizing filters is they a generally neutral in color cast. I have used other high quality polarizing filters but some gave a warm cast to the image though easily corrected it also creates an extra step in post. The quality of the filter is very high and have a slim frame is great.
Hoya filters are, in my opinion, the best mid-price products on the market. Their polarisers are well engineered and create no colour cast. Unless you want to spend hundreds of pounds, you can't beat Hoya.
Great product. Does as expected. The only filter I do use on my camera is a polarizer and to find this quality at such an unbelievably low price was great.Great service from Adorama.Their shipment always arrives on time. I have dealt with this company for more than several years and their service has always been consistently excellent.

Hoya 46mm Circular Polarising Filter
Designed to adjust brightly reflected light especially sunlight (reflected off of water or glass) and reduce unwanted glare Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast and saturates colours without changing colour balance Mount rotates to control amount of effect Coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission For use with autofocus cameras and lenses These filters offer both amateur and professional photographers HOYA's famous quality at reasonable prices. They have coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission. Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarizing filters do not affect the overall colour balance of a shot.
