I was at my breaking point maintaining a competitor's AIO color laser product. After refusing to service that machine any further, I was allowed to choose its replacement, and this was the AIO that I chose. It was a wise choice too, because this printer has stood up to a heavy workload of document printing from multiple users at an auto dealership. It has made clear, crisp prints and copies, with one minor hiccup that was quickly resolved by an on-site technician who was not only friendly and professional, but knowledgeable and thorough. After that, this machine has printed, faxed, copied, and scanned everything without breaking a sweat and with minimal human tending required. The other thing that is very nice about this printer is that the ONLY CONSUMABLE SUPPLY REQUIRED IS THE TONER CARTRIDGE. Some printers require drums, and other assemblies... but this printer needs a 55a or 55x cartridge and that's it. It couldn't be any simpler -- and that's one of the reasons why I chose this printer. I used HP printers at home for years without issue, and when I had the chance to bring that dependability to my workplace I didn't hesitate a moment -- you shouldn't either!!

It was hard to get hooked to my network, it would print then it wouldn't. It kept telling me to load paper then would only print a few pages at a time. I had trouble installing driver from CD and it was not one I could pick from windows. Finally it started working I had to change ports. However it still freezes up and you have to shut it off to get the print screen to work. I haven't had a chance yet to contact support. If I can keep it working it is a good little printer, and cost per page printing is much less then the others I researched and we go through about 25 cases a year in printing. I have had good luck with most of my Hp printers, the more expensive ones which you get a lower print cost however seem to have more issues then the inexpensive ones, so if you ... MoreIt was hard to get hooked to my network, it would print then it wouldn't. The major plus for me is that I can put a stack of 3.5x5 cards in the manual tray instead of feeding them one at a time, and it prints on heavy cardstock with a straight print path if you open the rear door. Two major flaws: if you don't print standard 8.5 x 11 size, you have to get up and hit the OK button every time you print something. This gets old really fast. It also beeps loudly, but I figured out how to turn that off.The other issue is that I often have toner dust on my prints. It wouldn't be a problem for a regular office, but I'm printing stationery that has to be flawless, so I have to throw out a lot of cards.I don't copy, scan or fax, so I don't have an opinion on those things.

As a printer/scanner/copier, this thing is awesome. Nice clean copies, very quiet scans, and it's not loud at all with printing or copying. When it first arrived, we had a small issue with the document feeder, but HP was quick to send out a technician and the issue has been fixed. Our 1 major complaint about this machine, which is why I can only give it a Fair and Average rating, is that this machine CANNOT fax from PC. Though it is advertised as having the ability, we have found out through Tech Support that that ability only exists on Windows 7. The software has not been updated to support Windows 10. So, the few faxes we do send out, we have to print the document and fax the old fashion way, which is a step backward from our Xerox that we placed with this ... MoreAs a printer/scanner/copier, this thing is awesome. It's 2018, and this is technology from years ago that we're missing.
I've been using this product for several months. It seems quite reliable. The printing quality is good, at least this early in its lifecycle. You probably already know about the cost of the ink. I use it as a fax as well and that seems to be working well. I recommend however that you not take into account any rebates offered. The rebate company has been extremely difficult to work with and has denied the rebate. Interestingly they asked me to send the UPC Labels again (but they are no longer on the box as they were sent the first time). So ignore any rebate in your decision to purchase this item.
It is difficult to set up many of the features of this printer. To set up the unit on my WiFi network, II should have been able to turn it on, choose a WiFi network, enter the network password and go. Instead, I had to call tech support to figure out how to change the IP address, etc. The same was true for the "scan to folder" feature. The HP Utility doesn't have a "Browse" feature to pick the folder on my computer I wanted to download scans to. Instead, I had to enter the folder name with the entire path. If I entered a incorrect "/" or "\" the connection didn't work. Since the instructions are written for a PC rather than a Mac, there were no help to me. I am pretty tech saavy; so, if I had a hard time making all of the features work, I can imagine how difficult ... MoreIt is difficult to set up many of the features of this printer. It was also very difficult to find anything of help on the HP web site since almost all of the help was written for a PC.The product does print great. If it weren't so hard to set up, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
I purchased this to replace the previous gen MFP400 series (which had numerous problems). From the moment I opened the box I could tell this was reminiscent of older HP laserjet printers. It’s substantial. It works flawlessly. Copies are crisp. Be sure to update firmware and install software from HP site, NOT the CD and you’ll avoid a lot of setup issues.
This copier/scanner/printer/fax replaced a traditional big frame copier that the seller would no longer support on an annual service agreement. The cost of this device, including the extended in-office service warranty, was barely more than the cost of our annual service agreement. If it fails completely at the end of two years we will have saved money.Setup was simple and straight forward. This device is EXTREMELY feature rich and replaces the above mentioned copier as well as a fax machine and a color scanner. That's right - while it prints only black and white, it SCANS in COLOR. This was a feature I missed when reading the specs and was a pleasant surprise. It is substantially faster than the copier and scanner it replaced. This was a feature I missed when reading the specs and was a pleasant surprise. It is substantially faster than the copier and scanner it replaced. The scan-to-file and scan-to-email functions are especially important productivity tools. Compatible consummables availability at prices a fraction of OEM mean our cost per page will be less than half what it was.It has a small footprint and fits where a printer-only device once sat. This frees up the substantial floor space that the large format copier occupied
Bought this to replace an old hp that had for almost 10yrs. This is in an office and used as fax and main printer / copier. Have had for several months and very pleased with easy of use and quality. Have the optional 3rd tray from the old printer and it fit on this one and works well. Staff feels it works better the the old hp. Very pleased with purchase so far.
This machine replaced an old HP Laserjet 3035 and is very similar spec wise. Overall it's not a bad machine but there are a few negatives to it. It is louder than the old one, the interface is more difficult to use than the old one, and it does not connect to our enterprise HP printer management software. Also the power draw must be significantly higher because every time it turns on to print it dims a light on the same circuit which the old one didn't.If I were to not have any experience with similar machines I might rate this a little higher. It works and it prints well but it is a let down from a similar machine that I am used to.
