I have this three stars only because the red looks so cool. Which Is the entire reason I got one. However, this isn't much more than a glorified chromebook. Yes it's more than just a webbrowser, I know. However the price is exorbitant for the amount of computer you get. 8 gigs I almost a joke. It's incredibly sluggish even with the pentium gold processor it comes with. It has almost no durability as mine died with no more than a droplet of water that got near it Yeah I get water and computers are not a great combination, but considering I've spt e tire bottles of gatoradenon some past computers and with an overnight drying they ram like Champs. The graphics aren't anything to write home about and the Webcam is gritty choppy and has a hard time running if you've got anynother programs in the background. Bloatware is always a problem with store bought computers, however this one wasn't too out of control as it didn't take up all the power, but still enough Uninstalling to irritate someone ever so slightly. It think it has potential but on such a low quality low power overly hyped up pretty pretty little princess of a computer, I wonder of it will be able to shake off the utter disappointment it must be getting from being placed in such a overpriced children's computer. The red tho.....yeah it looks way cool. Cool enough to be duped into thinking 8 gigs and a plethora of other disappointing bells and whistles with the gold processor might be worth a look see. Wrong. Pass on this one there's way better computers for less or for the same amount a high functioning more practical and way more durable competitors machine would do anyone way more justice. Just no cool red paintjob...maybe just buy a sticker skin thingies and pretend. Who knows. Like inside I put this way down there with chrimevooks as far as functionality and usefulness. Firm pass

I wanna start off by saying I paid $250 for this laptop. it’s originally $350. i didn’t expect macbook quality of course, but for the price i paid i expected much better than this. my biggest complaint is the battery life. it’s absolutely horrible. i get about 2 hours before i have to plug it in. if you wanna use this laptop for games, forget it. it’s incredibly slow at just about everything. the only reason i gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the red color is very pretty the display is nice. the resolution is pretty decent. id highly recommend not getting this laptop, unless you only intend on using it for the absolute basics only for a short period of time.

Just bought it to today for my new job, I absolutely love it!!! Only used it for one day, but I am already in love with it. Tried using zoom for my onboarding, and it did stress me out a little because I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t open.. took me awhile, so I ended up finding out I had to take the S Mode off.. which makes sense.. it’s like a protective mode. Either way.. I’m still in the process of figuring it all out. Oh pro tip: F5 turns the lights on the keyboard. There’s a lot to learn but I am stoked to play with it! The camera quality is great too, and very good audio. LOUD! 10/10 recommend. Oh and I love the 10 key number pad, that’s my fave. I definitely got the 2 year warranty for an extra 100.00 cuz the kid. BEST WOW quality fast laptop computer very ADVANCED!!!!! Great blue tooth mouse you put chip on left back side of PC. Love the smooth keyboard as well. Already has AWESOME Microsoft word (it asks you if want to remove the limited secured version which is free to do anyways) and just would need eventually if you want a Norton virus of your choice to get later if wish. Everything is surprisingly TOP notch and got for my daughter for school and can use for work since Superior Camera for video and sounds. Also, my family and friends who work w computers of $1,000.00 range were impressed with THIS ONE!!!!!. So gorgeous the color slim and shiny too. Thanks for the soft supportive Cover case to put it away as well. Has everything one would dream of for BEST price.
Got this laptop for my birthday, and thinking about returning it. It's so darn slow! I tried to download some YouTube videos, and the estimated download time is 3x what my phone gets! Offline loading is slow, online loading is slow, downloading is slow... For how much it costs, it should be faster, but I think they're charging more for size and a (mediocre) fingerprint sensor than performance. Ironically, is also a bit big for my preference, but that's a smaller gripe. And the battery! It's just awful! I fully charged it yesterday, left it closed, in sleep mode, then took it out less than 36hrs later, and it was already dead! I bet the Pixel 4 has a better battery! At least there would be some charge left after leaving the screen off for a day!
So, looking over some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive about how the unit would perfom. I got in on a Black Friday sale though, so I went ahead and took the plunge. I got the laptop up and running farily quickly today, and am now scratching my head wondering if some of those reviewing actually have other laptops or maybe even Chromebooks. This was probably the easiest laptop I have ever set up - even without ever having used Windows 11 before. A few things to keep in mind for those who may be looking at purchasing this laptop: 1) This is an entry level laptop - not a $1,500 gaming laptop. That means it's not going to get you the high score in any CPU intensive online games. But, for what you are paying, the laptop runs really quickly. 2) The first few ... MoreSo, looking over some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive about how the unit would perfom. That means it's not going to get you the high score in any CPU intensive online games. But, for what you are paying, the laptop runs really quickly. 2) The first few minutes are going to be slow. There have been updates to Windows 11 between the manufacture date and when you open the box. The first thing the computer is going to do is look for updates. That takes time and laptop resources. 3) The machine comes in Windows 11 in S mode. That does not mean you have to keep it in S mode. It is very easy to take it out of S mode if you want to do things like install Chrome. Youtube is your friend. Look up some videos - it literally only takes a few minutes.
This is the worst laptop I have ever purchased, including 20 years ago. The CPU hardly can handle several open tabs. You can't even run a game from the 90ties, that's how slow it is. It comes with a dummy Windows version (hey, you, we know you just want to watch Netflix and TikTok) you first have to switch to a regular version. The reason they deliver "Windows S" is that they know the machine is too slow to handle regular windows. It's basically a Chromebook. You can't do more than surfing and writing emails, really. Please save your money. You get a Chromebook for half the price, and in other stores, you get a decent Laptop for the money Target is asking. Target isn't even mentioning that this "Laptop" is ANCIENT. Run!
To make it clear, this is a refurb laptop. Refurbs normally have multiple checks run to determine why they were returned. Apparently this one was just visually inspected and checked to see that it worked. The SSD started to fail right away. High temp warning 70C laptop fan on high, bottom of case hot. Crystal disk reported the number of writes at 3008 GB, 899 power on cycles for the SSD. 1308 hours uptime. Looks like at some point the OEM SSD was changed out for an old one. Replaced SSD and laptop is running beautifully now at 33C under load. CPU runs at 40C. Overall unit is very nice, no scratches, no visible damage or wear. Other than the SSD problem, I would have said the laptop is nearly new. Seven months remaining on warranty. Had there not been a problem with ... MoreTo make it clear, this is a refurb laptop. Had there not been a problem with the SSD I would rate this at 5. As it is, I have to give it a 3. I'll see if any other problems develop. I have 29 days left to return. If I didn't know how to replace the SSD I would have had to return this computer (using it to post review). I downgraded this to windows 10 when I installed the new SSD. This unit was purchased to replace a dying 2019 model HP Pavilion. The smaller size case with the same size 15.6 screen is a plus. All in all, I would recommend this, just run a few tests when you receive it, it is a good buy for what you get.
Purchased as a replacement for my 2012 (yes, that’s the correct year) HP Envy that finally started to slow to the point of unusable. My issues are more with how invasive Microsoft is than the laptop itself so I’ll save those gripes for them. Machine starts up phenomenally fast and runs my CAD programs smoothly and without lag on a medium size project (I’m an architect) which is perfect for client adjustments on the go and starting projects at travel consults. The backlight on the keyboard is great for late night hotel room work while I’m traveling with my husband and even though the speakers aren’t “Beats by Dre” like my old Envy, they’re still pretty good quality. It’s thin and lightweight so it doesn’t take up much space when traveling and the battery life seems to be holding up really well.
I've had this laptop for a couple of days. It's worked pretty well out of the box. I'm replacing an HP ProBook 450 G3 I bought 5.5-ish years ago. I liked that laptop well enough so I figured why not buy another one, and then Microcenter offered a deal on this so I jumped on it. The 11th gen i5 and 16GB of RAM should be enough for most business, web surfing, and general use, plus it'll run Win11 whenever you decide to upgrade, so that's nice. HP offers a pretty useful suite of diagnostic software onboard as well. Other than that the system is pretty lean and comes with minimal "bloat". This laptop has integrated Intel Xe graphics. You can probably run some older games on it OK but this is really not a "gaming" laptop and I don't expect that kind of graphics ... MoreI've had this laptop for a couple of days. You can probably run some older games on it OK but this is really not a "gaming" laptop and I don't expect that kind of graphics performance out of it. The one serious downside to this laptop is that the SSD is a bit small at 256GB, and that doesn't really make sense given that the machine has a healthy 16GB RAM. (Common RAM/SSD configs these days seem to be 8GB/256GB or 16GB/500GB.) A more minor consideration is that it doesn't have the micro-SD card slot referred to in the description. USB card readers are cheap enough, and I have one, but it's just an extra thing you have to shlep around with you. Because of both of those things (mostly the small SSD) I'm dinging this otherwise fine laptop one star.
