Absurd bass from a relatively small cube

This is THE solution for a portable party/karaoke speaker. Sufficiently powerful for large indoor and medium outdoor spaces. The bass is mind blowing, digging deep as low as 35hz with ease. The overall sound is pleasant with deep bass (that is well balanced by default but will knock your socks off with the bass boost enabled), clean mids and crisp treble. The sound remains well balanced even at higher volumes. The included microphones work great. The lights look really neat and sync up to music much better than any other party speakers i've personally seen. I have yet to test its battery life. The JBL PartyBox app adds some additional functionality such as a 3 band EQ and light customization, and the ability to remotely turn the speaker on so long as it is plugged in.

CAP WEIGHT PLATES ARE KING FOR WORKING OUT
24 August 2023

These are the only weight plates I’ll buy to use in my gym. The weight is accurate and the handles offer a lot of options and ease to maneuver no matter the exercise or bar they go on. I enjoy the silver numbering that shows the weight unlike other plates where you have to get close to them to identify the weight. Also the handles provide just the right width for using them safely and comfortably as you would a dumbbell. The only negative with these plates is the finishing isn’t always consistent and you may find rough edges on some of them and a lack of adequate enamel coating that gives them a smooth feel and shiny look. CAP has a newer line of these weight plates that have remedied this issue but aren’t as easy to grip or as stylish looking, so I’ll stick with ...Ā MoreThese are the only weight plates I’ll buy to use in my gym. These weight plates offer a dark gunmetal grey color with the silver numbering and are nice to look at with great functionality overall for a host of exercise needs and preferences. I gave these products 4 out of 5 stars āļø only because of the manufacturing inconsistencies. Otherwise they are King and will get you strong without costing you over the top prices like other comparable products.

Good sound, awful battery

Two stars for the sound. I thought it was a great product playing around at home, until I cranked it right up for a mobile event (for which I bought it) and the battery only lasted ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES, and died barely half way through the event. Too late to return it at that point, I was gonna just get rid of it, but researched battery upgrades and, since other people also had this issue, with the help of YouTube I cracked mine open. There's only two measly 2600mAh 18650 sized battery cells inside! That's RIDICULOUS for a speaker this size and a product costing this much! The 21700 sized cell in my little flashlight has that much juice. It's amazing it made it an hour. So, I de-soldered their internal battery pack and dremelled a wire outside the box so I can use swappable external battery packs (each with four 3500mAh cells). So, yeah, I've had to go to great lengths to rescue this thing from being a paperweight (which most people won't do), and I've lost all trust for the JBL brand. 5200mAh. The NERVE of them to cheap out like that. I wouldn't buy any of their speakers again after this.

Impressive and Fun Karaoke Setup
4 December 2023

This JBL Encore with wireless mics, out-punches its weight class. Bought one and was so impressed by the quality of sound(bass!)/wireless mics and led lighting that we bought a second one when they went on sale. Syncing 2 Encore partyboxes for stereo sound while now having 4 wireless mics for larger Karaoke groups is a game changer. If you have the latest Apple TV 4K you can connect these tot he Apple TV and use the ā€œSingā€ karaoke songs on Apple Music. Thats the best way to use these as you can reduce the original vocals if you want, while getting ā€œfollow alongā€ lyrics.2 of these synced up will fill up a large room at 50-60% volume. One will need to be at 70 %. You can also control the mic volume independently of the music volume. Great job JBL!

Impressive sound in a compact package!
23 February 2024

i have had a few karaoke systems from home use to stage equipment over the years but i was always looking for something/system that was portable (non professional) that i would be satisfied with. When i ran across this speaker, on sale for less than half it's original price, came with 2 mics, all in a small package, i was suckered in and bought it. I was no stranger to the JBL branding and I knew that John B Lansing (JBL) was originally part of Altec Lansing back in the day when they were notable in the audio/recording world. Anyways, JBL was a well-known brand for home and stage sound, so it intrigued me to fork out $200 for this Partybox Encore karaoke system. So, here's the review of this system in q nutshell... awesome little package that would satisfy 90% of the people at it's original price and 100% of the people at the sale price I got it at. There was plenty of bass and the volume was plenty loud in a 20'x30' room. And in fact, there were 2 bass boost settings and I find that the lower boost level was best. The mics had a nice heft and sounded great. I wanted to buy another one as you can link 2 together to have stereo sound and have 4 mics but it was no longer available at Walmart. However, Sams Club still has ot but for $300. I found one on fleebay for a great price and bought it. If you can find one for less than $300, you won't be disappointed.

Sounds good but please don't buy it for karaoke.
10 December 2023

The sound is very good as you would expect from any speaker in this price range. However the karaoke part is rather disappointing. The microphones makes a loud hissing and banging sound when moved. It is like JBL expects us to stand really still while singing. You can't even change hands while holding the mic without making that annoying sound. I tried both the mics supplied and no luck getting rid of this issue. None of the reviews in Youtube talks about this. There is certain amount of wireless lag as well. The other cheap brands in market does a far better job when it comes to karaoke. This might be a software issue and fixable by an update. However for a speaker that costs around $400AUD this is unacceptable. I will be returning my unit.

[Rewarded Review] Best sounding compact speaker
22 June 2024

So to begin, I have been a mobile DJ for over 2 decades. I do use top of the line professional audio speakers when doing that job so I’ve been looking for something portable enough to throw in my car during my off time and something that sounded great at the same time while at the beach or elsewhere. This speaker is by far the best that i have heard from previous speakers ive purchased and ultimately returned. A few of those speakers being big brand name speakers and at a higher cost. The features you have at the palm of your hand for this speaker are amazing. The lows are booming and highs are perfect. This little tank will be all you need for a back yard BBQ or just a day at the beach. I couldnt have been more happy with this JBL Partybox. Get you one or maybe two!

[Rewarded Review] Great Versatile Portable Speaker
3 September 2024

Wow. Just wow. This speaker blows me away every time on the outdoor patio. Really blow your mind and pair two of them. The sound is incredibly good for a portable speaker, bass fantastic and loud enough to fill a very large outdoor area.Wireless pairing is simple, just press a button on each speaker. The light show is cool and can be modified or turned off.The app provides all the functionality you need and necessary as this model does not have many buttons on it.Works great from my iPhone (and remote control with Apple Watch is awesome) as a streaming source. Also test this as an amp for my indoor karaoke system. The microphone input (and has an aux in) attach to the mixer. Really good amp for karaoke microphones.Highly recommended product!
