Super-stylish and packed with features, this flagship smartphone has been created with an OLED screen, a bezel-less design and a glass back, while the octa-core processor and 6GB of RAM mean that it’s fast. Then there are the fantastic front 24MP and rear 40MP cameras that not only shames competitors due to picture quality and speed, they positively destroy their ‘innovative’ reputations too.

I've got this for 2 years plus now and its been with me in all my travels. I was in Europe and this was a great selfie buddy, a moment captured was great, views were amazing not to mention the beautiful Switzerland st. Moritz wow! this became handy in all my travels. I love seeing the beauty the world has to offer and I'm always up for new technology that will serves as a good purchase and will last long. Now I can say this is so much better. Battery last longer than expect and zoom features is absolutely the best. #Switzerland #P20pro

The phone has got 3 cameras which work together to provide appropriate lighting, depth, focus and color performance. The more critical ingredient in this recipe is the Artificial Intelligence (AI) processing. The camera is able to detect objects and adjust the camera mode and settings accordingly. I noticed how colors were being enhanced whenever I was capturing food at restaurants (my fav hobby). In my experience the AI has been able to provide the touted "Point and shoot perfection".The P20 Pro has its shortcomings. Mine came with 128GB internal storage and that cannot be extended because there is no microSD card slot. It is more than enough for me though. The 4K video capturing is not stabilised, so if one want to do some serious 4k videos, they may need gear like gimbals for a smoother output. However, for most personal video requirements, full HD 1080p is adequate. Also there is no headphone jack. Fortunately for me I had bluetooth earphones as well, only thing I hate is having to charge them everyday.

Absolutely Wow!

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review Having only ever used the same Android make of smartphone, I was a bit wary about changing brands, but I need not have worried. Straight out of the box the Huawei P20 Pro felt comfortable to look at and hold. It came supplied with a case and a screen protector and although there is no headphone socket, there is a supplied adaptor to connect the included earphones to the charging terminal. Instructions are minimal but the entire 151page manual can be downloaded online. Getting started was easy. Importing contacts from my previous phone was very fast via Bluetooth and connecting to Wifi was seamless. The keypad was slightly smaller than what I was used to and I kept hitting the wrong keys, but with a few tweaks in the settings, I managed to overcome this problem. The speakers are excellent and phone calls are very clear. I have not tested the earphones as I can't use in ear ones. The quality of the display and video is outstanding as is the quality of photographs. The camera is a joy to use and is extremely simple for someone who knows very little about the different settings. I may dig deeper into this later, but at the moment I am just happy to point and shoot and get excellent photos and videos, it even takes photos in the dark! There are some interesting tools like slow motion and panorama, but testing these will come with confidence. Security is excellent with both fingerprint and facial recognition unlocking, both of which are extremely easy to set up. Battery life is outstanding and charging is very fast. There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this phone and based on my experience , so far, I would highly recommend it.

An intelligent smartphone camera for the budding Fauxtographer
20 March 2019

Fantastic camera that is perfect for fauxtography. The AI behind the camera lense is amazing. The phone's form factor is pretty good with the only gripe being the fingerprint reader being on the front. If it was placed behind the device, then we would have slim bezels around the entire front rather than a large chin. I don't use the fingerprint reader, so can't comment on whether it is any good. I love the twilight finish, but didn't realise that it has a price premium over the black version. Had I known, I would've just taken the black version since the device is covered in a case. The Huawei launcher is full of bloatware, but it can be replaced so that makes using the phone more tolerable. The P20 Pro does everything I need it to do & excels in the photography ... MoreFantastic camera that is perfect for fauxtography. The AI behind the camera lense is amazing. Best available smartphone available in the Market!

Hi everyone, just got my brand new P20 Pro Twilight at Media Markt! Quite rare to find this color, really glad when gave a call to the store and they had it. The sales person was very nice and hold one for me. I told him that in 30 minutes would be there! Great customer service. Opening the box... I had no idea, it already come with a soft clear cover and a thin shield protection in the front. First amazing impression when I put it right away to charge. Almost 90% in less than an hour! Then, browsing through the apps... is the fastest I have ever seen. Absolutely no lag when changing from one app to another, really fast when opening any app and internet browser. If you like to take fotos and record videos, I would dare to say that you wont find a better smartphone ... MoreHi everyone, just got my brand new P20 Pro Twilight at Media Markt! If you like to take fotos and record videos, I would dare to say that you wont find a better smartphone at any other brand. The triple lens (Leica) take pictures using all together to then, deliver a stoning 40 mg pixel pictures that somehow merge all 3 like magic. Did a test in a dark room with very low light, another surprise, still trying to understand how can Huawei put that technology in a smartphone. You don't need to worry with fine tuning parameters, has many different modes that adjust exposure, white balance, etc, to deliver that best possible photos to the scenario you are enjoying. Just to give you an idea about what is 40 mg pixel... You can print a banner the size of a wall 2 mts x 4 mts with an unique quality, perfect image and details. Without talking about storage capacity, at least the one I bought, 128 gb, will take very long to full it. About the style, it's a show a part... It almost look an luxury accessory, a joy that you are caring. Almost forget, besides all I said, it also make and receive calls...

Happy with my purchase!
11 March 2021

I bought a used Huawei p20 pro 128g phone in march 2021. The phone came within a couple days. I was a little skeptical buying a used phone on marketplace but I'm happy I did. No scratches on screen, very few on the back but barely noticeable. The phone works great! After charging the phone, I was able to transfer most of my data over to it from my last phone, a samsung galaxy a5. I've had the phone for about a week now, all my apps are set-up and the phone works as new. The only downfall is that the battery life is probably a bit worse than a new model. I still get a full day's use before it runs out and it's better than my last phone, but these things lose strength over time so I suspect it's at like 70-85% of it's original lifespan. This is my first phone over 150 pound. I've spent a good deal of time researching and playing on high end phones as well as cheaper ones. I chose this phone to be my, "midrange longterm" phone as I'm sick of the low end phones either having hardware issue or without the capabilities of handling mods and high CP use of which I'm after. Pros: I'm overall very happy, especially that it handles what I want it for, like big games and mods, never lagged only when I'm ranging away from the wifi. The OS is smooth and not intrusive. Also, the screen is in mint condition after going through two screen protectors (butter fingers) so I'm led to believe it's fairly tough. The display is sweet as the specs show and it's visible in the sun (unlike all the low end ones I've had) ... MoreThis is my first phone over 150 pound. The display is sweet as the specs show and it's visible in the sun (unlike all the low end ones I've had) lastly, it's lighter in my hand and FYI, the back of the screen works like a mirror! Cons: The finger sensor seemed to stop working properly. After redoing my fingerprints it's better but seems to only like a certain portion of my print (which works absolutely fine and fast) so, it's a non-issue really but I'm curious as to what the heck is up aha. The camera, although it's vastly better than others and I'm happy to settle with it, partly lacks in its "master al" setting, which makes it auto select the shootingmode. I doesn't always get it right, especially with micro images it'll lose focus at around 2-3 inches from object. Perhaps I'm nitpicking here, because I just want to tap and the phone do it all for me, perhaps if I was camera savvy I'd love the array of settings... That's all folks :)

Pros: Fantastic battery life, easily gets you through a day of heavy use and could make it through two with moderate use. Amazing camera with lots of features, the low light mode is great and after you get used to the best way to use each of the different settings the shots that you can capture are simply breathtaking that you wouldn't believe was captured on a phone. As someone who carries a Canon 80D around with them, this is a great phone to add to my photography tool kit. The AI on the camera is clever and I like the fact that it's offline based, I have found the photos sometimes come out better and more realistic with it turned off as it is quite heavy handed with post processing that ruins the photos. The finger print reader is very fast and responsive.Cons: Missing headphone port is annoying but the adapter isn't as inconvenient as I thought it would be. Just leave it connected to your headphones.I wish the fingerprint reader was on the back of the phone, it's a more natural location for it however it does double up as a multifunction button on this phone which wouldn't be suitable if it was on the back so I can understand why it has been placed where it has.

Slim, sleek, fast & eye-catching.

Phone was a bargain and is in pristine condition. The "twilight" colour is really unusual and eye-catching. The phone feels rather heavy but I think it has a screen protector fitted. It is lightening fast on 4G and, with 6Gb and 128Gb, I have encountered no problems at all so far. There are very many apps pre-installed and I am still in the process of removing most of them as unwanted. Is this called "bloatware" these days? The front camera seems to take bright pictures but maybe there are adjustments I can make to improve that Rear camera not tested yet I know that the main point of this phone is the camera but I have not had it long enough to report on it. dervla's review of Huawei P20 Pro Black 6.1 128GB 4G Unlocked & SIM Free
16 October 2020

Pros: I was looking for a really good camera, with enough phone in it to use it as a communication device. P20 pro is perfect for me. A few beautiful twilight shots, some zoom settings for close ups (×1×3 and ×5) which have usually turned out OK. I havent played around with manual settings just yet. Colours come out well, not too yellowy! It has google play store, chrome... Keeps suggesting Huawei options, but all phones promote their own. 6gb ram. No micro sd/sd card slot option but enough memory til I figure where else I can store things. Takes any sim. Earphones come with it, they use the same c type slot as the charger uses. A good buy.Cons: Maybe an sd/micro sd card slot and a radio option for the earphones.
