The simple clock face is fine (though more to choose from would be great). What i noticed in all those watches i've owned before is that i never answered calls nor texts from a watch. So this watch simply displaying what comes in is perfect.Heart rate seems to be accurate so far (latest Update). The step counts are a bit off (comparing on my phone), this is something i ordinarily wouldn't mind, but i think it uses that to calculate calories burned?Bluetooth has not once disconnected from my phone and battery life is extremely good! Bravo! The ONLY thing (as mentioned in other review here), is that i DO NOT like the wrist flick scroll through options feature. I hope Huawei releases a firmware that can make an Off\Disable button for that.

I bought this about 6 months ago and at first i loved it. does everything it claims, I really wanted a watch that I could swim with and that would give me phone notifications as I work on call and i'm always terrified of not hearing my phone or missing a call when i'm swimming or showering etc. So for that this watch seemed perfect. however there are a few downsides; the app support for swimming is terrible and it doesn't record heart rate etc while swimming just the number of laps. There doesn't seem to be a way to select which phone notifications you get so its constantly going off for every little thing, and when there is a unread notification it stays on the main screen meaning that 90% of the time when I try to actually look at the time I have to scroll though ... MoreI bought this about 6 months ago and at first i loved it. does everything it claims, I really wanted a watch that I could swim with and that would give me phone notifications as I work on call and i'm always terrified of not hearing my phone or missing a call when i'm swimming or showering etc. So for that this watch seemed perfect. however there are a few downsides; the app support for swimming is terrible and it doesn't record heart rate etc while swimming just the number of laps. The Bluetooth range seems pretty decent on it but when it does lose connection it constantly vibrates so I end up having to take the watch off if I have left my phone out of range. The strap that it comes with is quite big and the excess doesn't stay in the holder but flaps around and gets caught on clothing sleeves etc. I ended up having to buy a replacement strap for it and I have quite large wrists. The touch screen can be temperamental and more than once I have been unable to deactivate swim mode without restarting the watch. And now after only 6 months it has had to be return for repairs as it has stopped charging, the charge doc always seem a bit tricky to active charging but it has now given up and stopped charging completely. To return the watch has also been a bit of a headache Huawei were VERY slow at replying to me and in order to return the watch you need the serial number which can only be found on the box and isn't on the actual watch so luckily I am a hoarder when it comes to boxes and still had the box! I returned the watch for repairs 2 weeks ago and I have not heard a thing about it since.

Both heart rate and oxygen rate sensor is working well. There are many sport function modes to explore with. The only downside of purchasing this product is buying it from Mediamarkt. The price drops down in 30 days, Mediamarkt refuse to cover the price difference happens after 14 days, not possible even as a club memebr, which should entile you 30 days. Returning product is also not an option according to thier policy once it's used. So be careful, you cannot actually try product, like at other shops. Looks good, with a few flaws
17 March 2021

This is a great fitness watch at an excellent price. It more than resembles an Apple Watch, but no, you can't install any third-party apps on it.You can set up Huawei Health to vibrate your watch and show you a notification whenever you receive a WhatsApp or Gmail message - BUT - you can't mute it at night. The Huawei Health app completely ignores the "Do not disturb" settings on my Huawei phone, and - yes - this watch has woken me up when my Gmail has received junk mail in the middle of the night. That's pretty dumb...The other big problem is that Huawei does not support Strava. It's own webpages are full of users begging for this functionality, but (as of March 2021) they still haven't delivered anything, so your data is trapped in the Huawei Health app.

Nice First Smart Watch
1 December 2017

I had been thinking about getting a smart watch for a while but didn't know if I would actually get enough use out of it to warrant spending several hundred dollars on some of the top brands. So I found this Huawei watch and it seemed perfect for what I needed. I don't need a ton of features like the top watches have because I'm going to have my phone within 20 feet of me otherwise the watch disconnects anyway. So I didn't need to watch videos or get every application that's on my phone on my watch. I just wanted to get notifications from text messages, calendar appointments, and emails. I also wanted basic health data like steps, distance, and calories. And I needed a watch I could swim with so I didn't have to worry about getting it wet. It is simple to use and understand and because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like other smart watches, it's very easy to learn and understand and navigate. I love the round face because it looks like an actual watch. It lasts probably about a week before I will charge it which is a vast improvement over the 18 hours the apple watch gives. The magnetic charger is really nice. There are a few different faces you can choose from so it would be nice to have a bit more variety. I also would like a color display but the monochrome display is one of the reasons the battery life is so good. I don't use the "flick the wrist" to flip through the menu because it is a bit finnicky. The screen also doesn't work as well if your fingers are wet or sweaty. I like the quick disconnect straps so I can change out the rubber band for a metal one I bought easily. It's also a great size for me. I have pretty small wrists, I guess average for a woman, but I enjoy big watches. This one is probably as small as I would go, but looks nice on my wrist. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Nice Fitness Tracker

I've used many different fitness watches, including Garmin, Microsoft Band 2, Fitbit Charge 2, and the Apple Watch. I actually really like this because it works like advertised but also really looks like a watch, I received a compliment on my watch recently which I've never received when wearing everything else. I'm not going to go into things that are mentioned in the previous reviews, rather, I wanted to mention a couple of things I find important.1. It's got a Gorilla Glass face (and it's low profile on your wrist). It's a fitness watch that gets used while being active which means that it will get bumped some. Both Garmin and Fitbit use plastic lenses and, from my experience, they both scratch very easily, both the Garmin Vivosmart HR and Fitbit Charge 2 were scratched within a couple of days. I think if you have to put a screen protector on a watch or have to be concerned it's going to be scratched from everyday use, then it's time to look for a different watch. Both the Apple watch and the Microsoft Band 2 also use Gorilla glass.2. You don't have to charge this every night. Monitoring sleep is nice to have as is measuring your heart rate at night. Spiking heart rates can be an indication of a sleeping disorder (sleep apnea). Since this has a 6 (sometimes 7 day) battery, you don't need to carry the charger with you when you travel like I do. This seems trivial, but it's not when you travel a lot. I actually returned my Apple watch because about half the time, it didn't make it through an entire day. The Microsoft Band 2 was a 1.5 day device. Garmin was about 4 days as was the Charge 2.

Great band. Multiple faces to choose from. Date/ weather/ calories/ steps/ O2 SATs/ pulse and more. Silent (vibrating) alarm- multiples can be set (weak or strong vibrations to choose from). See messages on your wrist. Schedule "do not disturb" to avoid being woken overnight by incoming messages or auto light up function. (alarm still works with "do not disturb" on) Super long battery life - over a week! Torchlight on watchface. Only complaint is that it initially took several attempts to link up to app. Unsure why, but link to app is needed to set up device. Suggest uninstall and reinstall app if you have any issues. Lots more features than similarly priced Fitbit.

Love the look and design of the device. Monochrome in my personal beliefs is the way to go with these watches to extend battery life and give it a sleek professional look which this pulls off well, especially with certain watch faces for whatever occasion you are attending and the ability to replace the band with any you buy online. Did I mention it's waterproof with a swimming tracker function! Also on average I would get about 4 days battery life out of this that's with tackling a 45 minute workout session at least everyday those 4 days, this makes the heart rate sensor start on which reduced the battery life from 6 to 4 days but if say just regular use to could steps you definitely will get 5 days before it needs a charge.Downside would be the pedometer adds ... MoreLove the look and design of the device. That's a pretty significant flaw but hopefully will get fixed with a future firmware update once the Huawei watch two settles. The app also needs a lot of work. You can track your runs on GPS only when activated on the phone but then didn't display on the watch but will save a map of your run route. If you start a run from your watch it will still use the gps from your phone but it won't save a map of your run route. This still is a solid device for the money that is way more esthetically playing then anything you will find in the fitness watch section. It gets the job done, you just have to do some math till they fix the pedometer or raise your goal amount so you know where you really are at.Definitely recommend this though too anyone looking for a cheap but hourly useful fitness tracker that's easy on the eyes!

It also comes with the option of a large wristband, which is great because I have big wrists and it fits with room to spare. (From the last eyelet to the clasp measures nearly 9 inches!) Add in the water resistance (continuous submersion up to 5 feet for as long as 30 minutes) and you get a total package of physical characteristics that can compete with many devices in higher price ranges. The fitness tracking is pretty standard for this price range, but basic is what I wanted. It does track running, walking, biking, and swimming, so if you want to track any of those specific activities you're covered. Add in the water resistance (continuous submersion up to 5 feet for as long as 30 minutes) and you get a total package of physical characteristics that can compete with many devices in higher price ranges. The fitness tracking is pretty standard for this price range, but basic is what I wanted. It does track running, walking, biking, and swimming, so if you want to track any of those specific activities you're covered. It also has some kind of training program you can setup. I recommend studying the features list to make sure it will meet your needs. The app is also fairly standard. I found it easy to use and pair with my device without reading the manual. One nice feature is the app can sync with a couple different third party apps (like MyFitnessPal), which is nice for adding my fitness data to my diet plan and collecting all that info in one place. Notifications seem to work well and I like how when you setup notifications you can choose which phone apps send notifications to the watch.I have only two complaints, both with the software, and possibly related. As other reviewers have stated, the wrist gesture is too sensitive. Sometimes I just try to look at the time and the watch scrolls to the workout shortcut. I think the wrist gesture is a great feature, but would it be possible to add a setting to turn it off?My other complaint is that the watch sometimes automatically starts a workout. I don't know why and haven't found the answer yet in the manual. So maybe it's related to wrist gestures or maybe the device has automatic workout tracking. I do know it typically happens when I move my arms a lot, like unloading groceries from the car, or putting my daughter in and out of her car seat. But whichever the case, would it be possible to also add a setting to turn this off?Overall, this is a great device that competes well in its price range. It's elegant, comfortable, and I feel good wearing in workout gear, everyday clothes, and possibly even in more formal settings (it seriously looks that good!). If I can get passed the two software issues then I can see myself using this for quite awhile!
