Ordering and delivery was easy and quick!The Helix 7 is another story. I bought it online in Dec. and installed it March 25th. It doesn't work. The unit powered up but the screen would not come on. After consulting with Humminbird, I tried different connections, different wiring, different batteries. Nothing helped! So, today I'm shipping it back to Humminbird because I wasn't allowed to return it at the store due to ordering it online, and of course, 60 days had passed. Who knows how long it will be before I get it back? Luckily, I kept the Helix 5 that I was replacing. It's very disappointing that I could not take to Bass Pro for a replacement.

Own an original Helix 9 SI GPS 1st generation and upgraded to this Helix 10 MEGA SI* GPS 4th generation. UNBELIEVABLY the BEST Helix series to date! Could not believe the clear and precise images on the screen first time on the water. Actually spent more time going back to previous waypoints to see what I was missing over the years and less time wetting a line. Truly a good investment on my part! For those wanting to mount the transducer on your trolling motor, Unless your trolling motor is a MINIMUM of 80 lbs of thrust, the transducer WILL NOT fit between the prop and skag, Transom mount transducer is included 100% satisfied with this unit!.

Great system. I used YouTube to learn how to get the most from the equipment. Installation on my Old Town PDL 132 was fairly straight forward. I run it off a 10 amp hour lead battery which has adequate endurance for my fishing trips. GPS runs great for determining trolling speeds and also allows me to return to the locations on the water where the fish are at. I love the Mega Down Imaging for separating bait balls from the shoals of target fish

So far so good! I purchased the Ice Conversion kit and Lakemaster chip as well so I could use for the remaining of the ice fishing season. I wanted this model as the Helix 'All-Season' kit does not include network (N) capability. I had less than a great experience with my Garmin UHD 7CV + Garmin maps and decided to switch over to Hummingbird based on feedback from others.When using the ice transducer, get great detail on fish reacting. Highly looking forward to testing the Side Imaging this summer.
Used the unit this week for first time and was really impressed. Mega down imagining is almost like seeing a go pro picture. A stump looks like a stump and a tree looks like a tree. Easy to navigate through menus and use the different features. GPS works well, but I was surprised that it didn't warn on screen when signal was lost in an area with limited sky view, but kept tracking and showing speed when satellite screen showed NO FIX. I would recommend this unit.
So far frustrating because the unit keeps saying mega live not found. Not sure if it needs to recognize a few times to store. I installed 2.66 on it as well. Power is great, ethernet fine too. Do you have to make sure the transducer is checked off in the graph itself? Also i am hearing Temp needs to be checked off as well. I did have the drain wire connected too and humminbird had me remove it and the head unit now recognizes the transducer. This is stand alone as well. I also did install choke when i got off water for 1st time in case that was it. I do not know if that drain wire had anything to do with the graph not connecting to the mega live as i did go in and check off the temp and transducer.
So far so good. Bought this as my secondary for the MDI feature on the Minn Kota Ulterra. Not sure if the GPS is working, but the installation was straightforward. You have to buy the adaptor to make the MinnKota connection for the built in transducer. Running the powerline to the main console and hooking up to the 12V accessory behind the switch panel was tricky, but not too bad. Hoping to get out this weekend to try it out.
I spent $3,200.00 purchasing a Humminbird Helix 15" G4 with mega side and down imaging. Installation was straight forward but I noticed when hooking up the power lead that there was NO inline fuse included with the $3000 unit. So I had to stop what I was doing and run to the parts store to buy an inline fuse holder and some fuses. Am I the only one who finds that to be really cheap on their part? That aside I really love the fish finder. The screen size allows you to see so much more detail. Fish that are specks on my Helix 7 are distinct white dots on the Helix 15. Size does matter.
Well, it’s all in and all works just fine. Only been out 1 time to calibrate it and check out the DI and SI. While we were out it started raining and hailing we had to come in. Just waiting for all this rain and atmospheric rivers to pass through Central California. Hopefully the end of the week we can get out and fish. We shall see.Thanks again to Brett for answering all my questions before my purchase. Well worth it.Haven’t got to use the Lakemaster map yet, again hopefully end of the week.Ultrex works great. Up in the air yet, I am a big humminbird fan. got her hooked up and had some issues. i have 3 H10's networked with TM in the settings it recognized my other units but it would only work with the bow 10 and not the other dash unit. i pulled it and put my 9 back in and it worked checked all settings and they matched. put the new 10 back in and it seems to be working now? will test on the water again tomorrow? otherwise going back for a diff one
