The large surface area allows worms to easily access food scraps at the top, where they naturally feed, increasing their processing capacity. The tapered sides encourage worms to stay near the surface while compressing finished castings below. Once the composting process is complete, the base of the bin can be easily removed to harvest around 4L (¾ gallon) of rich, worm-free castings — no heavy lifting or messy handling required.
