Hydro Flask 20oz Wide Mouth - Black

I generally like this hydro flask. The lip stays tight which has been super helpful all of the times I've dropped it and everyone stops and stares. It also holds a lot of liquid, which is perfect for an outdoor adventure, trip to the gym or work. I usually like adding hot tea to it to take to work. It does an awesome job of keeping it hot. I've had times where my tea is piping hot in the morning and by 4pm its warm still. Ice is hit or miss. Sometimes it stays cool sometimes the ice melts for some reason, but it generally stays cool. Overall, good product that I recommend.

The standard for keeping drinks cold or hot! I bought a hydroflask early on after not being super impressed by some of the bigger name brand competition.. our cups/bottles, etc were not holding up and had chipped paint around the rims, wonky bottoms, etc. After using about 5 different hydroflasks in various colors in very heavy use (daily by multiple people each using one) I can say these live up to the hype! No chipped paint, drinks remain ice cold- overnight! In fact, we’ve left them in the car in the AZ summer heat (by accident) and somehow only had melted ice but still, cold water when I went to dump it out 14-16hrs? later. Burnt lip with every sip!

I'm SO disappointed in the Hydro Flask Coffee Flask! I love my Hydro Flask water bottle because it keeps my ice water cold all day (ice cubes are still in there the next day!) So I was excited to try the coffee flask, thinking it would keep my coffee hot for hours. The big problem is the opening in the lid. I keep burning my top lip with every sip. At first I thought the problem was that the lid isn't deep enough. But now I think that the shape of the opening is wrong. It's rectangular/blocky and lets coffee exit the cup too high up, hence my burnt top lip. I shouldn't have to adapt how I drink to make the flask work, so unfortunately, it has to go back. Such a bummer because I love the color and look.

Dissapointed with size

So I happen to have an extremely rare situation. My cupholder in my BMW is very small, so only slim. I was able to get the standard mouth 21oz in my cupholder fine, but I needed a wide mouth because I use large ice cubes. So, I bought this coffee bottle, swapped a straw wide mouth top onto it, and thought everything would be dandy. But Hydro Flask did not mention the mouth width (its 2.25" for anyone wondering). If I were to unscrew the top and turn the bottle upside down, the silver part fits. So now I am stuck with a bottle that is doesn't fit my cupholder, and does not fit my ice cubes.The remedy: Hydro Flask to release a water bottle that is a true wide mouth, like their 24oz, but maintaining this "slim" design. Do not buy THIS thermos. Buy the Coffee with Flex Sip™ Lid

The thermos bottle itself is awesome. I have another one that I use all the time. Coffee stays hot all day. (It needs a warning about how hot it keeps the beverage.) If the thermos is properly closed the beverage will still be warm 36 hours later.!! THE PROBLEM !!Thermos simply comes with a solid cap. You cannot drink out of this thermos directly without removing the cap. These product pictures look very similar to the wide mouth "sip" lid. That lid may be purchased separately if you want to drink directly from this bottle.Alternately - be sure purchase the product that includes that lid.You have to know that there is a difference. Look for the "sip" lid.Anyway - just say'n.

Don't like the new model lid.

Love the flask itself, but newer model lid is not great. The old lid had a flip-up tab the completely sealed when closed.The new one has a twist to close lid, which does not seal when closed. They included a separate piece that seals, but it is a separate piece, and requires removing the top, putting in the piece, and then screwing the lid back on.This leaves a separate part to keep track of when not being used.We've had four of the older ones, and after a few years, they still seal perfectly and work just fine! Why would they change??Old lids (aftermarket) are still available on Amazon & elsewhere, but shouldn't have to spend more money to get it right!!

One major flaw

I so badly want to love this hydroflask. But the one major flaw sadly and frustratingly is the friggen lid! I think it might have been way overdesigned. The goos thing about the lid I guess, is that you can completely disassemble it and clean it thoroughly. The problem with all of those moving parts however, is that liquid gets trapped in those little spaces in the lid (which is comprised of two plastic parts connected by a rubber washer or flange essentially. So all that space in between the two plastic parts catches excess liquid after every sip! And so you'll never not have some dribble after you're done sipping. So if you care about the interior of your bag or your car or anything else, don't count on this cup to not dribble that excess liquid all over it. You ... MoreI so badly want to love this hydroflask. You also have to get that runner washer thing perfectly lined up the right way or it will get even worse. I want this cup to be the perfect cup for me. Especially because it has a handle and is matte black! But unfortunately it looks like I'll be returning it. The most frustrating part to me is that the most reliable to go coffee cup that I've ever owned was a cheapo from target that merely had a flip up lid piece that stayed secure and never leaked EVER! I've had many since I lost that one, and none have ever been as reliable or dependable. Ain't that some crazy ish?

Unable to keep liquids hot but....

I’ve had this for a few weeks now. Was excited to purchase this for my coffee since my other Hydroflask products have worked so well, but with cold liquids. Unfortunately, the design of the lid is not airtight and drinks will only remain hot for 2hours max. This is a glaring issue considering my standard s’well bottles, w/ a fraction Hydroflask’s insulation are able to keep liquids hot for up to 12hours. BUT Hydroflask should revise their claims to more accurately represent the time these containers keep liquids hot.

Useless if you can't open it

I'm so disappointed, should have listened to a review that mentioned how hard it is to get the cap off. This is my first hydroflask so not sure if this is an issue across the board, or just with this item. But it is literally impossible for me (or anyone in my household) to get the cap off. This has happened after only having it a few months. So I brought it to my family over the holidays to see who could open it! The only one who could was my brother...who does strength training every single day. Now mind you the rest of my family isn't weak, we just aren't focused on strength training. Unfortunately I don't see my brother all the time, so this hydroflask is now sitting in my kitchen completely unusable as I cannot get it open once again. My money is now wasted. I absolutely do not recommend this item.This also is extremely frustrating because it then renders this thing unwashable and runs the risk of growing mold. I try to add soapy water through the top and swish it around but I can never fully empty it without the cap completely off.

Works as a jack stand!

I have had my hydro flask for a couple of years and I love it. It keeps my water cold for hours, even in the summer heat. However, last week I realized just how tough these things are. I had a catastrophic tire blow out and my tire was so damaged that my wheel was sitting on the ground. I had to try and lift my SUV with my scissor jack using the leaf spring but it could only lift so far. I looked around for a rock to use as a jack stand so I could slide the jack to the axel but nothing was in sight. That's when I saw my hydro flask. I knew there were made from stainless steel so I placed it under the leaf spring and slowly released the pressure on the jack. I heard a few pops and creaks, but then my SUV was being held up by only my hydro flask! I was able to move my ... MoreI have had my hydro flask for a couple of years and I love it.
