I purchased this lid a week ago and have been using it heartily since. It doesn’t leak (if yours does, make sure you push the straw down all the way until you feel it click- I’ve actively been turning it upside down to make sure it doesn’t leak), the straw is much thinner than the other lids, the flow of the water is much smoother, and the loop is so nice for carrying it around without my backpack. I do wish it came with different color options, but hey, inventory is never fun. Beautiful lid for an amazing product! So glad I upgraded to this one!

After accidentally driving my 40oz off the back of my car (made it three blocks before viciously whipping off into the road, some mom made her kid get out and run after it lol?), I was using a free off brand straw lid as a replacement before it dawned on me that the piece of trash was causing mad issues. I drink a lot of water and you rarely see me without my flask within a 3ft radius of my being. Anyways I’ve basically been chugging 2:1 air to water for months and have had a dry af throat because of it, until today when I went to get a new air tight sucker. Long story long this product is 100/10. If you suffer from a dry throat this straw lid will quench you like you’ve never been quenched before. I’ll never cheat on you again hydroflask. :*)

I've had my hydroflask water bottle for almost 10 years. It was time to replace the lid, and this one works great! The finger hole is handy, and the mouth piece is comfortable, although as others have stated, it does show teeth marks quickly. It comes with two straws, and fits the water bottle I have perfectly. The thing that most impressed me was the packaging: very efficient, minimal, and environmentally friendly- all recyclable and with a little ruler printed in the side to make it super easy to cut the straws to whatever size water bottle you need to fit. I can't speak to longevity yet, but using it daily for the past month it has held up well. I am happy with this purchase.

It's 2023 and Hydro Flask sells a lid that leaks when the bottle is full and not perfectly vertical. Other bottles/lids from comparable brands manages to control leaking. Even the smaller version of the same lid is apparently leakproof! With this lid, you you simply can't fill a bottle and throw it into a bag without the risk of soaking the other contents. Similar sized lids (CamelBak specifically) manage to be leakproof. Despite the premium image Hydro Flask promotes, this lid is an utter disappointment. I see there's another version of the straw lid on the Hydro Flask website, maybe it's leakproof? If so, I wish REI would've ceased carrying this version. I bought this kid for my 40oz bottle in hopes that it wouldn’t leak as chronically as the regular lid (from opening and closing VERY tightly all day). Ugh, this one leaks too. These bottle have left water stains all over the front passenger seat of my car. If you don’t screw them on so tight to the point where you can barely open them then they leak everywhere! Basically spent $65 for a leaky bottle. I’ll go back to a Nalgene. I was trying to avoid the plastic but at least they don’t leak and I don’t have to use brute force to close and open them.
This is the cap I've been wishing for for years. I'm so glad to have a cap that's leakproof, insulated, and most importantly has a properly sized handle I can get all my fingers in for secure carrying. It comes with two straws, already perfectly sized for the 40 oz. The point of attachment for the straw is secure but removed easily, very easy to swap between the long straw and the one I cut for my 32 oz so I can use the cap on different sized bottles. My only wish is that it came in different colors.

During this year's Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale, I decided to stock up on all the items I've been wanting which included more of these wide mouth straw lids. The current description states it has a durable rubber coating to help stave off damage from biting but it's also rock hard. I didn't even consider Hydro Flask would change the design in this way so I just added a few to my cart and paid for my order. Now that my shipment has arrived, I can't help but be disappointed. The lid works well for the most part, but the straws that came with it melted in the dishwasher within one week of purchase. There were no directions not to put them in the dishwasher, and I figured my other straws had no issues, so I was disappointed when this happened. Luckily, I have a few spares so I was able to use those.Like others have mentioned, the plastic part somehow is already peeling from bite (?) marks. I don’t bite down on the lid but it peels and flakes rather easily with not a lot of wear and tear. Lastly, I bought this 10 months ago and it already broke. The white plastic stopper piece that goes underneath the lid to protect it from leaking somehow fell off so if I don’t keep my bottle upright, the water seeps through the lid everywhere. I switched from a standard screw top to this straw lid as my old top started leaking when the flask was on its side.unfortunately the new lid also leaked. I thought it might be some sort of defect in the threads on the flask so i ordered a new flask and straw lid.sadly the new one also leaks when on its side.I am not sure what is going on, maybe a defective seal on these new style flex straw lids?so i try to keep the flask upright but that is not easy when on a car seat.i gave it a 2 star rating as the straw functions well.
