It is the definition of simplicity, with only one button, two LED indicators and a charging port. Operation is dead simple: hold the button until the green LED ring glows; press the button to select a speed 1-3 (indicated by blue LEDs on the bottom); press and hold the button to turn off when you're finished.I can say speed 1 is plenty for a beginner like me, with the higher speeds feeling a little too intense. Two friends that excitedly volunteered to try the GO found it as straightforward and powerful as advertised, and we all agreed percussion massage is a unique and helpful tool for post-workout recovery and sore muscle treatment. While the GO does not include the Bluetooth functionality of the Hyperice's full-size models, the Hyperice smart phone app is still very useful, allowing you to select which area(s) you'd like to massage and then providing a variety of routines to achieve different outcomes. The routines include guided audio and video and seem useful for all skill levels. I connected the app to Apple Health and was pleased to see it suggested routines after I completed workouts. As a novice I definitely appreciate the guidance and features offered by the Hyperice app.Overall I am very pleased with the GO as an introductory percussion massager. It is not inexpensive, but it is well-designed, solidly built and dead simple to use. Its compact size will be perfect for travel, and its six-hour battery life gives you plenty of massage time whether home or abroad.

It gets into the soft spots between the shoulder bladed to provide instant relief. It still will not get to the middle back, but you can always get help from someone to do it. It has provided solid relief for both my spouse and I.So far we have used it intermittently for a little over a week and have not had to charge it still. The battery appears to last a very long time.Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this massager. We have looked at many different percussion massagers and never pulled the trigger. But we do not regret getting this little beauty for one moment.

This device is great for all sorts of ailments related to strained muscles, sore joints, pulled ligaments, etc. Even if you have neck pain from sleeping wrong or siting at desk too long it helps SO much with tightness & pain. I use it mostly for shoulder pain & hip tightness & it really makes a difference. Just have to be slightly careful not to over use (too long or too high a speed) or it can bruise the area. Great for athletes, people who workout consistently, as well as runners, spinners/bike riders, & swimmers.

Like having a jackhammer for your body!

Lots of people have used personal massagers, and they’ve been around for decades. They come in many shapes and sizes, and vibrate to ease tension and pain throughout your body. But for a while there’s been a newer class level of these called “percussion massagers” or percussion guns. These have been used by sports therapy clinics for some time and athletes, but consumer models are now in the market. Enter the Hyperice Hypervolt Go. These types of massagers take things a few notches up, and rather than vibrating, they “thump” (hard, really) kind of like a hand-held jack hammer. You hold the tip with any variety of tip heads on it against your body, and it’s like getting a rapid deep tissue massage of sorts. The Hyperice Go is handheld, smaller and lighter than commercial models. It’s rechargeable, and within a couple of hours, it will hold enough charge to use it up to 2 ½ hours (on low) or slightly less time as you go to medium or high settings. It comes with an A/C charger and power plug attachments to use in other country’s outlets as well if you travel. A colored ring along the bottom pulses as it’s charging and turns solid when it’s on. You press the power button in for a couple of seconds to turn it on, and then quick presses will cycle it from low, to medium, and high. Two tips come with it – a flat head to cover a larger area, and a bullet shaped tip to pinpoint a very specific area. It is important to note, you should talk to your doctor before using one of these to make sure they’re safe for you and any medical conditions you may have.Once turning it on, always start on low, and target an area you may feel is tight, or in need of deep massage. This is again, NOT a regular massager. It’s strong. Even the low setting “thumps” you rapidly, and hard, in my opinion. Low was sufficient for anything I needed. Medium pushed limits and high was borderline painful to me in many areas, plus on high, the hand grip vibrates pretty strongly and becomes uncomfortable to hold after a few minutes if left at that setting. I have issues with my upper legs and hips and a few minutes using this properly did help ease the tension and pain. A friend used it in an area of his upper back where he has constant tension issues (also on low) and said it helped a good bit. Neither of us found the bullet shaped attachment comfortable and used the flat-head attachment more comfortably. Prolonged use did create a tingling sensation in the hands due to the heavy vibes – perhaps a bit more insulation in the handle would help this? The battery lasts as advertised if again, you keep it on low. This type of device is not for everyone, and while it’s more specifically aimed at athletic types, it could help others too. But once again, this is not a regular massager, and repeating, you should discuss what this is and exactly how you’d like to use it with your doctor before use, as improper use of this could do more harm than good. I give it 4 stars because it looks good, handles well, and does what it’s supposed to do. Since it’s a consumer model, I would have liked to have seem them put a low setting on it that’s even less strong than the low is on it now, though, and would have liked to have seen a couple more different types of attachments as seen in other models too, as it doesn’t come with a ball-shaped tip (as seen in most other models) which is also good for larger areas. For $199 (average) it’s for those who need it. You’ll know if you’re one of those people. Recommended.

So most everyone has seen Hyperice and similar handheld massagers on the sidelines being used by professional athletes on the bench or sidelines, but the high price tag and concerns about effectiveness may have held you back from buying one.I’ve personally suffered from some sciatica and trigger point pain in my calf and my shoulder, partially due to working out but mostly because I work in IT and sit in front of a keyboard and screen all day.My Calf trigger point in particular would often lock up due to dehydration while I was sleeping and cause extreme pain, but also developing a knot buildup and nerve/muscle damage over the years. My calf always felt swollen and hot to the touch. The hyperice Go has been awesome with the bullet and flat head to help alleviate this persistent pain. The first time I used the hypervolt Go my calf hurt so much I couldn’t walk that well without tenderness, but after that it’s been much better and I’ve been able to massage daily and it’s made a huge difference.A few notes:-this unit lacks Bluetooth like the higher end offerings so the app is not much help-this unit has less power at 40w brushless motor vs 90w vs the higher end hyperice versions but for the difference in price you may not notice.-the heads are hard rubber rather than soft rubber, I wasn’t sure but they work great.-2.5 hour runtime seems accurate-build quality and comfort is excellent-be careful around your neck, spine and any bones. Doesn’t feel great on non muscle tissue but overall I his is a great device!-a different percussion cadence would’ve been nice instead of just 3 different speeds. The higher speeds don’t necessarily feel better than the first speed.Overall this is a great product for those who have chronic pain but also want some recovery and relief after doing a lot of homeowner DIY. I’m sure it would be great during softball season for this over the hill athlete as well!!!

The cordless HYPERICE Hypervolt GO comes well packaged, has an attractive appearance, and a very sturdy build. It’s lightweight yet still feels substantial in your hands. Included are two interchangeable head attachments (a flat disc and a bullet shape), the power adapter with various heads to change the power plug input, and an operating instructions booklet. The 60-watt motor supplies plenty of power to drive the device yet the QuietGlide Technology ensures it makes very little noise when in use. It did not arrive pre-charged and the initial charge took around 5 hours. I have used this for approx. 30 minutes over the last few days and it appears to still have a full charge. It’s very simple to operate with only one button that’s used for both power (on/off) and speed adjustment. An LED band on the handle uses color to indicate the battery level and 3 small lights on the bottom of the handle indicate speed. The Hypervolt GO improves the massage experience by using percussion/vibration to loosen tight muscles and increase circulation after a workout or stressful day. While the pulsation can be very relaxing, I’ve found that when turned on high the pressure over bony prominences can border on painful. But a simple speed adjustment quickly resolved that issue. The flat disc shaped attachment is perfect for use on larger areas like thighs, buttocks, and your back. It allows for manual pressure to be applied that can increase the depth of the massage. The bullet-shaped head was great for getting into joints and the flat side of it worked well on the plains of my arms and the sides and soles of my feet. After 12+ hours of being on my feet the kneading motion provided much needed relief. If someone in your life is a fan of massages this will save much of the wear and tear a traditional massage causes on your hands/arms. For most people this machine is not a need but it’s always nice to spoil someone, maybe even yourself.

The size of the device makes it very mobile and gym or vehicle friendly, too, so it can be brought along to work out tight muscles before the workout begins. I also really appreciate the size and easy handling of this percussion device. It has one simple button to turn on and to turn up the pressure. There are three settings for pressure, and then you simply hold the on/off button for longer to shut the device off completely. It’s a good idea to have included the additional plug-in attachments, in case this goes on trips with you. It’s absolutely small enough to pack along with you and now you know you can use international outlets if necessary. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

When I received this, my first thought was, where is the rest of it. Let me explain, my youngest son is 6’10” and plays basketball (who would have thought) and he is constantly lifting, running, practicing, etc. We had purchased a massage device from our local box store. And that thing is huge. He was at practice when I received it and again, when I got it out of the box, my first thought is will this be powerful enough? He and several teammates came to our house after practice, and it had been charging for several hours, I forgot about it. My son inquired what it was and I explained to him that I had just received it that day. One of the teammates turned it on and used it on his thighs, after about 10 minutes he said, “I literally think I could go back and practice again, where did you get this?”It is far superior to the other hand held massager we had purchased and far less in size, as the old saying goes, don’t let the size fool you. It comes w/ two attachments, one is shaped like a bullet, the other has a flat disc shape, and both work great. It comes w/ a small charger that can be carried w/ it. I’ve noticed my son uses the smaller, bullet shaped attachment on his shoulders, and the flat disc shaped on his legs. Their Coach wanted to know if we could bring it to away games and the team use it on the way home, that he really felt like the kids were recovering better after using it. I have noticed that my son is not as sore as he normally is after a using this as soon as he comes in from weightlifting and practice.I charged it that initial time, and each of the kids used it on their shoulders/calf’s/thighs and he went that entire week using it after he came home from practice. And we do take it w/ us on away games for him to use immediately after a game, and also his teammates, and I do have to charge it a little more frequently now that the season has started.I have tried it, and it is so relaxing, and so soothing to tired, sore muscles. Were my son uses the highest setting, (has three) I only use the first and it works great for me. Its lightweight design, is easy to carry in his backpack, and we just simply use alcohol wipes to disinfect once the players are done and before the next kid uses it. Its very quiet as well, to the point you don’t even hear it hardly. This Hyperice - Hypervolt GO massager is worth every penny!

I picked up the Hypervolt Go on the way home from a long run. Unpacking and set up relatively straightforward. I had hoped for a few more massage head types in the box, but the flathead has been sufficient for my needs. (The international adapters were a welcome bonus when the world is right again for travel.) I was able to charge the device and work on my right leg before the dog insisted on a walk. The difference was astounding, with my left leg showing the perils of a long run, while my right leg was much more limber and capable. The Hypervolt Go has 3 levels of intensity. I have not mustered the courage to advance beyond the vigor of the first level. The entry-level power is generally on the higher end of the other massager I tried. I have only tried it on my legs and cannot speak to its function on other parts of the body. My calves are my most commonly impacted areas of stress, so I need to ease my way into the pressure, but it has worked wonders to relax my common ailments. It has been unexpectedly useful in managing hip flexor strain from repeated running in the snow and ice that we've been experiencing. As well, the pounding my feet have taken to use my trail shoes for long runs have been mitigated by frequent use of the Hypertvolt Go. As one who resisted the craze to spend a chunk of money on a recovery device I was uncertain I'd use, this has been an invaluable addition to maintaining my running streak and supporting my marathon training.

Works great, with long battery life
9 September 2022

I've had the Hypervolt GO for a few months now and it has been great for use after workouts or prolonged sitting at the desk. It's not for everyone and the vibration takes some getting used to, similarly to an electric toothbrush. But it has mostly exceeded my expectations as far as effectiveness in loosening up muscles and also power and battery life. Don't be misled by some of the video reviews with the reviewer pressing the device too hard and causing it to stall as that is not how you're supposed to be using it. I rarely even need go beyond the second intensity setting.
