This headset is maybe worth $50 at best, but due to the "300 Hour Battery Life" gimmick, it's allowed them to drive the price sky-high. I missed out on more quality headsets and could've saved some money instead of buying this junk.I've had quite a few HyperX headsets and this is by far the worst, and I would expect more from this company than this heap. Cloud 2's are still my gold-standard for comfort/sound quality, but as for wireless headsets? HyperX is behind the curve.

I currently still own Astro A50 Wireless that runs $350 which still works and I use it mainly for Call of Duty titles or Battlefield (when it used to be great). I went ahead to buy the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless gaming headset to replace my other headset that I use for my PC. I used the Cloud Alpha for PC and the PS5. The sound quality is great, I could hear the footsteps sounds in FPS and 3rd person shooter games. Playing games or listening to music sounds great. You can tell the Cloud Alpha is durable unlike the A50 which they feel delicate. Since I own both headsets with different price range. The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless is almost close to the Astro A50. Yes you can customize the sound quality the tuning software just like the A50 to match your sound ... The battery life, it takes a while for it to get low. The A50 has 15 hour battery life. The Cloud Alpha has 300 hour battery life. For 2 days it tells me I have 90% battery life. If you don't want to spend $350, that's fine just get the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless for $199.99 or on sale for only $149.99 plus Tax. Just get it and you will see what I mean. I've been using this more compared to my A50.

My main requirement when buying a set of wireless headphones was battery life; these do not disappoint. 300 hours estimated is on the conservative side, as I've only charged them twice in two months. I have definitely had headphones that have better sound, especially at this price, but these are no lightweights, and the quality is pretty good (7.5/10). The highs and mids are crisp without much washout. The bass is responsive and hits low, but can get muddy at higher volumes. Mic quality is great but you have to make sure you attach the cable fully - it's a little difficult to get it all the way in. Having a pop filter cushion on the mic is a big plus as well. The band adjusts pretty widely and will fit my big head comfortably without much issue. My biggest problem ... I replaced mine with some $19 Steelseries mesh fabric cups though and that helps tremendously. Would recommend at lower than retail price especially due to the battery life!

Just to start off, I do like this headset a lot when compared to my previous wireless headset (BlackShark V2 Pro) and there are some great things about it. First, and definitely the main selling point of this headset, is its incredible battery life. I read reviews that said it lasted beyond its rated 300 hour battery life and I can confirm it is that good. The sound quality is nice but the EQ presets are a bit lacking with the HyperX software. The build quality is nice but the fit is a bit awkward for my head as I have noticed my ears get a little uncomfortable after some longer use. The build quality is nice but the fit is a bit awkward for my head as I have noticed my ears get a little uncomfortable after some longer use. Some actually annoying issues I have with this headset come from the audio side of things with some awful clicking sound nearly every time there is a sudden audio transition (i.e. a video stops on youtube or you pause a song). This is really annoying since it seems to be a general issue with the Cloud Alpha line and not just this wireless version of it. It isn’t a deal breaker for me but I wish it didn’t do this obviously. Other than that, the only other issue I have is that there is a very subtle amount of white noise I hear when the headset is on but I really only notice it when I turn the headset off and realize that there was actually some static noise. I do like this headset a lot and I appreciate the wireless consistency compared to my previous headset along with the battery life that’s in a league of its own but it is important to note its flaws.
I really wanted to like the headphones but it just seems like it was overhyped.I received my first pair and I thought they were defective because the sound quality on Windows sounds low. I literally have to turn my volume up to 80 -90 to hear my game. I exchanged them for the same pair to see if they were defective.I decided to give the two week period to see how I like them. The sound quality is still low for me. There is a lot of bass to them in my opinion and it can be too much because I hear a static. Even when I chat on discord with my friends I hear static as they talk.I don’t see these headset as comfortable. I think it is due to the clamping force being about 1 lb. My boyfriend and I play games together and we talk on discord I hear him outside my headphones before it comes to my headphones then he wonders why I lag in responding.Personally, I just don’t think it’s worth the price point for multiple reasons.I heard it’s just best to go with the Cloud 2 only because they are basically the same thing but apparently more comfortable and who needs 300 hours. You’re basically paying $100 more for 300 hour battery.
Coming from the wired version of the same headset, there are several things I noticed going into this one.1. Better build-quality. While all HyperX products in the Cloud series I've used so far have been well built, this headset really set a new benchmark for me. It's solid, clean, and comfortable.2. It's lightweight. You know, I never expected a headset that boasts this sort of battery life to be lightweight. I seriously don't know how it can simultaneously be *lighter* feeling than the Cloud Alpha Wired, but still boast equivalent if not better sound quality.3. The battery life. Oh my god the battery life. If there's any reason that you need to get this thing, it's the battery life. Most manufacturers will make inflated claims about their battery life (it's ... Oh my god the battery life. If there's any reason that you need to get this thing, it's the battery life. Most manufacturers will make inflated claims about their battery life (it's kind of expected, honestly). But this thing? I've charged it exactly 3 TIMES in the entire time that I've owned it. While the battery is obviously not going to last forever, it's still so unreasonably strong that even in an old, depleted state, I can imagine it out-lasting all of its contemporaries.OVERALL REVIEW:Gorgeous headset, great sound quality, insane battery, 9.8/10. The only thing I wish this had was the ability to connect to a phone without an extra adapter sticking out the side. If it *could* connect to a phone, it would be an easy 10/10 for me.
I mostly needed a new headset for work calls as I am remote IT Support. My current headset was having all kinds of problems in calls and connected with Bluetooth. MY previous headset didn't have any problems and used a 2.4Ghz USB dongle like this Cloud Alpha. I had read about the insane battery life and thought that would be good for work as well.I also like the design of the microphone. No moving parts to fray cables like headsets I've had in the past. Like the other reviews for this headset I picked up a pair of Wicked Cushions to replace the ear cushions that came with the headset. Definitely worth it! I picked up the cooling gel cushions and while they do still get warm you don't really realize it until you take them off and put them back on again. They ... I’ve had this headset for 3 days now and am blown away of how nice they feel and overall construction. One small surprise out of the box is that the charging cord is super short and definitely not something you can use to charge while wearing your headset. Please keep that in mind. Also someone posted about ordering wicked cushions because of the shallow pads that it comes with and I have also ordered a set because i am experiencing that same minor annoyance. Now for the part that has me confused as per my title. I too keep getting “charge level 100%” when i turn on my headset and also when i hold it down for 3 seconds to check mid usage. Well i have downloaded the NGENUITY app by hyperx and have checked my battery level through said app. As of writing this i have ... Now for the part that has me confused as per my title. I too keep getting “charge level 100%” when i turn on my headset and also when i hold it down for 3 seconds to check mid usage. Well i have downloaded the NGENUITY app by hyperx and have checked my battery level through said app. As of writing this i have put give or take 20 hours of having this headset on. On the app my battery percentage is at 91% with est 273 hours left. I do believe that what i am looking at in the app is the correct information and what is being said in the headset is maybe a software issue. Nonetheless this sure as hell is beating any other wireless headset in the market right now and am very happy i purchased them. I would suggest people that have bought this headset to also download the app and see what percentage you are actually on. I hope hyperx fixes this with an update. As soon as that happens i will give them all 5 stars.
