I love this bass to no end. It is my right hand man. I noted poor quality craftsmanship, but that is solely due to an instance where I dropped the bass with the input in the jack, which therefore punched a whole in the side. It was an easy fix at my local luthier and actually looks better now. Just flimsy construction on the side.Other than that, this is my most beautiful instrument and sounds great.I have one problem though: I cannot, for the life of me, find the right type of strings to put on this bass. I am confused as to put flatwound or roundwound on the bass as I hear conflicting viewpoints from multiple people. Also, I do not know if I should get specifically short-scale strings. Is there anyone who has an answer to this problem?Great bass!

I did not buy the bass from this vendor. This is a beautiful instrument. It's light, makes wonderful sounds and is comfortable to play. The very coarse wire wound strings that came with the bass made a lot of noise if your fingers moved along them. I replaced them with flat wound strings and you can only hear what you play. It needs a pro set-up but is straight and true, and stays in tune The semi-hollow design makes the bass feel solidly built while providing that deep woody hollow body sound You can't go wrong

This Bass was shipped out of Wyoming and arrived in a non factory box with no hang tags or paperwork. The sides of the body we're not protected and the bubble wrap just went around the neck and center of body. I find it hard to believe this was not a floor model sitting in a GC store.As others have said it needs nylon flat wounds, build quality and looks are top notch.

I love the tone of the Woodstock era rock so I wanted a semi-hollow body bass like my bass hero, Jack Casaday of Jefferson Airplane-Hot Tuna fame. I wanted his signature Epiphone bass but this Ibanez Artcore AGB200 Semi-Hollow Electric Bass Guitar was $300 cheaper and it had two pickups which I thought might be more versatile than the Jack model. I didn't want to deal with an exchange and kept the original and do not regret it one bit. This bass plays well too and the strings did not clunk right out of the box. This bass is a great value, plug it in to a tube amp for that lush vintage sound that is heavenly!

After a week I still haven't found a good setup. The setup out of the box was almost unplayable. Looked like a violin the action was so high. It's a lot better now. No string buzz anymore and the action is lower, but still much to high for my taste. I can't gig with it like this. I own another setneck bass. It's better than this one but still the same thing.I did figure out that although it's a short scale bass, short scale strings won't fit. Much to short. You have to use medium scale strings because if the 2 piece bridge. It adds a couple of inches.It's a pretty bass. Nice craftsmanship. Interesting sound. It's just doesn't play like it should. Hopefully I'll get the action figured out. If not, adios!
The reason I had problems with this order, is because the first model of this guitar I ordered was damaged upon arrival - I also ordered a case which the guitar came in. Customer service was very helpful and had me send back my guitar in the case so I could receive a new guitar. When I got my guitar back, the case did not return - I was refunded the price of the case and had to order a new one. This whole experience was very frustrating because this bass was replacing a bass that was stolen from me. I was hoping to have the bass guitar and case together from the start, but it has been one let down after another. The guitar is great, but it was disappointing how long everything has taken. My Bass came pretty well set up and ready to go, the neck was straight enough and there was no buzzing of the strings, alittle tuning and admiring, started playing 5 minuets after I got it. When I put a strap on the bass it had a tendency to lean away from the body, if you need to see the fretboard it might present a problem, maybe a different strap position would help, didn't bother me. Neck seemed straight. I didn't try to fine tune it because I just couldn't fall in love with it. The front is very bland, no real grain. The banding in the F holes is about the same color so no character there either. The sides and back are georgeous. It had a broad tonal range, but I couldn't get the warm low tones I get out of my Fender Mustang, which has flatwounds. I swaped the E and A flatwounds off an Epi EB 0 and tried it. That brought it closer to what I was looking for, but still not like the Fender. I also heard a very very slight buzzing that was not fret buzz ... MoreFit and finish was good. I tried everything that Fender had to offer and didn't like them and sent them back! I tried an Epifone SG type and a Beatle copy.And I tried a few more not worth mentioning. Unbelievably I settled on an Ibanez Gio Micro. It plays nice but weak sound. Still not satisfied, I ordered the Ibanez AGR 200. When I opened the box the looks got me excited. A beautiful finish just as good as the higher priced basses that I had tried. The best surprise came when I plugged in. What a great sound! And ...
