Ibanez PGMM21 Mgn Paul Gilbert Electric Guitar - Metallic Light Green
The signature Paul Gilbert micro PGMM21 takes all the revered features of the classic PGM model (reversed headstock, iconic f-holes, one volume control) and then shrinks them down. Despite its tiny body with a short scale, PGMM21 does not sacrifice playability. The 0.10-0.46 string gauge ensures enough tension for playing comfort. The open polepiece Infinity R pickups deliver well-balanced tones with rich mids, dense, and wired with a lever switch that gives five different tonal options.

The finish of the neck and frets is really good. Great guitar for youngsters. The price is super affordable. I have small hands so I really like my reach on this guitar.

I purchased this as a travel guitar for myself as well as a starting guitar for my daughter. We both love it! It actually holds tune fairly well with better strings installed and plays even better. I would for sure recommend this for any age and skill level and I might be purchasing another mikro very soon!

The PGMM21 is an enjoyable guitar to play. It's solidly built, and the 5-way switching for the pickups offers good tonal variation. This guitar was designed to have .010-.046 strings and be comfortably playable, even with the 22.2 in. scale length. I've not had any serious tuning issues, but I also have a light touch. You can always try a heavier set of strings, such as .011-.048, if you think it would play better. At this point in my life I prefer smaller guitars. This guitar meets my expectations.

I have a most of these 3/4 versions of Paul Gilbert's and Paul Stanley's guitars. This one like all the others are not really that playable out of the box. But after a fret job and a much needed setup it turns into a very capable guitar. For the price I think it's a very fair deal. And it sure does look the part.
I really like this guitar. I had one of the original Mikro's which I got rid of years ago and wish I had kept it. The different is that this has a 5 way switch with coil spitting pickups and the original is a 3 way with no coil spitting. On the Paul Gilbert version 1st position is bridge full humbucker. 2nd bridge single coil neck single coil. 3rd is neck and bridge full humbucker. 4th is neck single coil. 5th is neck full humbucker. Very cool and a lot of tone choices. Pickups sound very good. Comes with 9 gauge strings on it, I put 10's and it help with some of the buzzing issues that it had. I took one star off because the nut could have been cut a little better. A great guitar for the money.
I love this guitar! I am an adult with small hands and find the neck on this guitar superb! It is made to a good professional standard and needed no set up (apart of course from tuning) straight out of the box. Ftets, action etc were spot on.This is no toy, but a well made reduced scale instrument, ideal for keen youngsters or adults with a sound that belies its low price.
There are not many short scale guitars on the market, and most of them are marketed at children (read between the lines: crap quality and cheap sound). But let's face it: there are adults out there who aren't too large either. Say you're a girl with miniature hands, and a standard size guitar feels like a huge log next to you, whatcha gonna do then heh?Chit chat aside, this is a very decent instrument, with wide tonal variety (thanks to 5-position switch and coil-split pickups). Sounds very clean and deep. Super comfortable to play for small-handed players. Very lightweight and compact, but still it looks like a proper instrument (and yes, it does look astonishingly beautiful).Tuners could've been a bit better, but hey, look at the price tag.Good guys from ... MoreThere are not many short scale guitars on the market, and most of them are marketed at children (read between the lines: crap quality and cheap sound). Although the high end action was ok, I found playing chords etc at the low end not very good at all. Tuning seemed problematic, If E sounded in tune then G sounded out.
The paul Gilbert mikro offers professional quality and features in a smaller format Perfect for beginners and kids. Its easy to play And they will come to appreciate the quality which is the single aspect that you take away with
Our son expressed an interest in learning guitar which as a player myself, was good news!He is only 6 so wanted to find a 3/4 size electric - looked at a few manufacturers offerings (Fender, Jackson, Epiphone, Ibanez) but the PGM Mikro range stood out - maybe because I am a Paul Gilbert fan and know he tours with one of these. A little more expensive that the Fender or even the standard Mikro range but such a great guitar to play.A few little finish details let it down (thin paint around the neck bolts) but a fantastic guitar straight out of the box. Easy to play, well balanced, mid-weight, good sound and obviously great to look at.If you want something a little different in the 3/4 market, this is definitely one to look at.
