Ibanez PIA3761 Steve Vai Signature Stallion White
The most legendary and iconic signature guitars of all time! Thirty-three years after the release of the Ibanez JEM, Steve Vai and Ibanez have once again collaborated on something completely new, in what Steve has described as "the next evolution of the JEM". After all those years with his trusty JEM guitars at his side, Steve recently felt an urge to design a new guitar that reflected his own personal growth and journey as an artist since the release of the Ibanez JEM in 1987. Steve and Ibanez worked tirelessly over a period of time in order realize Steve's vision; a guitar that can not only capture the same thrill and exhilaration that his JEM guitars have always provided, but also one that adds new elements of aesthetics, design, and function. After an exciting process of research and development, Steve and Ibanez were able to create something that exceeded all expectations, something that Steve has deemed “Paradise in Art”. Ibanez is proud to now offer this new guitar, the Ibanez PIA, as the next of evolution of our amazing partnership with Steve Vai. The 'Petal Grip', arguably the most eye-catching feature of the PIA, is something that Steve feels visually represents the bond that two entities can create when in synergy with one another. It is this synergy, and its ability to create a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than its parts, that the Ibanez PIA is born.

You ever see Vai pull up on the bar to get those high squeaky notes and wonder how on earth does Vai set up his guitars to do that? This guitar can do exactly that and stay in tune! The setup up is great and I think I prefer the new neck over the Jem. You get what you pay for and the Pia delivers 👏🏼

I dreamed of having a guitar like this after seeing a cased Ibanez Jem about twenty years ago. Words cannot describe the disappointment I experienced after finally having them money to get something like this only to have received a dud.I bought this because the Pia looked so much more dignified than the Jem. I was excited to play this after reading so much about how Ibanez uses the highest levels of craftsmanship and standards for their top of the line guitars. Unfortunately, I'm afraid they've lost credibility with me. Here's why:- The frets were so sharp that I worried if cut myself.- The whammy bars (it came with two) were not tightly fit into its tremolo. They would make a clicking sound as they loosely rocked back and forth using some vibrato.- One area ... This guitar is the epitome of world class craftsmanship. Every single detail is attended to with pristine precision. The playability is unmatched and quality unsurpassed. I own many quality guitars ESP Japan made, Gibson USA made. But there is just something special that makes me only want to play this guitar. Well done Ibanez this will be a lifelong keeper. Better then I could imagined or expected and I expected a LOT at this price point. Did not disappoint. I purchased the stallion white and it is breath taking in person. It has a pearlesque look which I love. If you are on the fence don't hesitate you will not be disappointed. This is top notch quality in every way and don't know how it could get better. A+++++
I won`t rebuy this guitar only because of the price. It`s an excellent guitar indeed, I couldn`t stop playing it. Even though I struggled a little with mine setting the appropriate tension balance between the strings and the Ibanez Edge tremolo system, eventually the guitar is now able to STAY IN TUNE!!!I personally prefer to tighten the screws from the side of the springs, hence I would need to loosen the strings first, then tune it again later.
Honestly, this was absolutely worth the wait and I may have to order a white one next, I just did a little look into the case when it arrived and all I was able tk say was omg the design. Picked it up and it just felt oh so perfect in my hands, there are a few cons but nothing too serious
I would like to thank musicstore.com for their excellent co-operation in comparison with other BIG German company(thomann) who they cancelled my order and never returned my money but my bank did it 45 days later!!!Thank you for this guitar and the quick response!I’m fully satisfied!!
It is a great privilege to leave the 1st review for this guitar at Guitar Center. It is my 1st personal review at guitar center as well. First, it is a little surprising to see this review will be the 1st since this guitar has been released for half a year. But whoever reads this, right now is 2020, the pandemic year, and we do not know how soon this is going to end, maybe next spring, maybe even longer. Probably that is the reason. Please let us remember this difficult time that many people lost their lives, many people got laid off, we might get another recession...I am a Steve Vai fan, I made this impulse buy at this difficult time, but not regretting it. Please let us remember this difficult time that many people lost their lives, many people got laid off, we might get another recession...I am a Steve Vai fan, I made this impulse buy at this difficult time, but not regretting it. The PIA is fantastic, absolutely the best guitar I have ever played so far, although I handed on a few more expensive ones. I compare it with Farreri. It is just smooth on every cover of the guitar. Fingerboard and neck are just gorgeous. Frets are stunning. If I use one word to describe PIA, it is going to be "Harmony". Handsome but beautiful, energetic but soft, Yin and Yang. It is very light, but still holds a decent amount of weight (not as light as the Herman Li's guitar, that one is a little too light from my point of view). The newly designed Dimarzio Utopia pickups, together with the pickups covers are sweet and beautiful. It is interesting they named it Utopia, as the ideal society, but also like U to Pia, maybe it is part of the reason for the name of this guitar.
Was pretty bummed out when I got the PIA. I had super high hopes after spending that kind of money. The pick ups sound amazing but fought the guitar to keep it in tune. I have never struggled with a guitar so much. Wish I had better things to say.
Overall:My Stallion White Ibanez PIA guitar is a dream come true. Hence why I named her "Dream." Her neck is silky smooth. Her tone is crisp, clear, and beefy. The low-cut volume pot does its job beautifully and without resistance. And the body is efortlessly light and rests nicely however you decide to hold it.If I had one criticism of the PIA it would be the tightness of the whammy bar. To insert or pull it free is a hassle for me. Maybe it's just a thing that time sill solve. But I've had the guitar now for about ten months and the whammy bar is still fighting me.Other than that, the whole package is even more beautiful in the flesh and plays like you wouldn't believe until/unless you put one in your own hands.
