I have a few high end Ibanez Prestige guitars and honestly all of them are quality guitars, but the Fishman Fluence Modern pickups just give the guitar that little bit of sonic difference that take it over the top. Great build design with a really flat and perfect neck that is bound and easy to play. I know these guitars are supposed to be for shredders, but as a rhythm player I find it perfect for my hands and fretting chords is easy. The bottom line is I love this guitar and it all I have been playing since I bought it. The AMS payment plan for 18 payments made it highly affordable for my planned budget and since it came with a nice hard shell case it is protected for traveling around with. A+++

I love this guitar. I can play solos on it that I couldn't on any other guitar on account of it's thin neck and super flat fretboard (17 inch neck radius-like a Kiesel). The electronics and hardware are top notch and pickups sound great in any genre. My only complaint is that there is a slightly gritty feeling that I get when bending a string and it rubs on the frets. I can tell it's already starting to smoothen out however the more I play it.

This guitar is worth every penny. It plays so good sounds great. Only issue is i had to restring it when it arrived. The E string was broke and when tuning the others they all snapped. It looked like they were not strung correctly. Other than that its a great guitar.

This has become my absolute number one guitar. I'm primarily a hard rock/metal player, but I've found my dabbling in fusion style playing to be quite pleasing with this guitar as well. First and foremost the tone achieved by the unique combination of mahogany body and ash top with the Fishman Fluence pickups is wonderful. For over eighteen years I was team passive, really not liking active pickups except. With that being said, I did find them useful for precise and technical rhythm playing, but sterile and non-dynamic for lead playing. I'm happy to say that not only is the active tone far superior in every measurable way to that other brand that introduced active pickups, but with a flick of a switch you engage a passive voice that sounds like somewhere between a JB ... I'm happy to say that not only is the active tone far superior in every measurable way to that other brand that introduced active pickups, but with a flick of a switch you engage a passive voice that sounds like somewhere between a JB and Distortion. This mode is well suited to clean tones and is great for playing classic metal. Switching between the two voices is an extremely engaging way to experience the instrument and makes you feel unbelievably connected with her. I don't think I've ever read a guitar review where someone says "the picture doesn't do it justice", but I assure you that in this example it is absolutely true. You can see the ash pattern through the finish quite easily and the glossy coat really makes it sparkle and shine. The only tradeoff I would point out is that the glossy finish is a little less smooth than a satin finish, but you smile every time you look down at the guitar and its beauty so not really a big deal. The neck is wonderful, smooth and FAST. Again the pictures do not do that awesome birds eye maple justice. The stainless steel frets are enormous and will give you absolute confidence with your bends and vibratos. One other thing to point out is that I'm not an Ibanez fanboy. I've always respected their instruments, but found some of them a bit too lightweight feeling. This guitar has a great solid feel to it and the resonance and sustain is far superior to any Ibanez that I've played before. Perfect.
This guitar is a high quality one! You can feel that everything is precise as far as the craftsmanship. This has an extremely smooth neck.I have never used these pickups , but I like them a lot. I get some good mid-range.There are 2 things that I would say are yellow flags. Not anything bad, but something you should know if you are buying this:Setup - I had to restring and also adjust the guitar to my liking. This is not necessarily a bad thing, considering I do that with all of the guitars I buy.Weight - this is SOLID. Definitely the heaviest guitar I own. I don't know if it is because of the Ash wood, the electronics, combination of the 2, the other wood, no idea. It is a heavy guitar. I don't plan on standing for a long period of time with this one. Overall:While I own many different guitars from different companies I have found that as I got older, just turned 51, that I tended to pick up my Ibanez guitars most of the time as the necks just started to fit my hands better, especially when playing fast. You can read the details on this guitar, they are quite stellar but the point of my review is on the craftsmanship. My go to guitar for the past couple of years has been a J Custom 8750z, it was truly flawless in every regard. Over the years I have found some minor issue with almost every guitar I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot in the past 38 years, except for the J Custom and a PRS Core C24, until I got the 5120.This guitar is truly flawless. Of course I had to make some minor adjustments as I like my action very low but it was setup right out of the box. There is literally not a flaw to be found anywhere - the frets, binding, neck, trem cavity, pickup routing etc...This is also my first set of Fishman pickups and the clarity, even at high gain, is truly amazing. The Lo-Pro Edge is also rock solid and thus far has been able to take any abuse I can dish out. Finally the finish is just stunning. If you are trying to decide on something around this price range, this is the guitar. Pick the one you like best from the pictures and just buy it. You will not be disappointed.
Sound:You can get amazing and beautiful cleans and with the Fishman fluence it can sound any way one wants. prog metal, jazz, blues, insane soaring leads with amazing sustain. The cleans are round, and warm. Literally any style this guitar fills the all the gaps.Features:The trem system is incredible. I use mine a lot to flow into notes, for vibrato, and the occasional dimebag dive bomb. Stays perfectly in tune. The maple neck ads such a snappy brightness to the tone as well.Ease of Use:The note clarity, whether clean, or full on death metal gains, you will hear every note. I'm in Eb with the 6 dropped to c# and with the DR 11-50 the guitar plays itself.Quality:Top notch craftsmanship. When I got the guitar, it wasn't set up at all. Had loose tuner nuts, ... Had loose tuner nuts, and certainly wasn't playable out of the box. But after swapping string tuning and string gauges it was intonated very well as I needed almost no additional adjustments when going heavier gauge. Within 30 minutes I was playing it. I actually love the fact that I had to set it up, as I was the first person to play it.Value:It's 2k. That's a lot for the average person. But the value for what you get is well worth the money.Manufacturer Support:No problems at all. But Ibanez will take care of their customers. I've dealt with them in the past. The Wow Factor:This guitar goes to 11. If you want to sound like a professional, I highly recommend it. Though your chops will make it sing!Buy this guitar.Overall:I've been an Ibanez man for over 20 years. I've had a myriad of RG's, 2 JS series' and this is hands down the best playing guitar I've ever played. I've already wrote and recorded one song and it sounds even better than it looks, and it plays even better than it sounds! 2k for a guitar is a lot of money; but if you're a serious player, pro or not, this guitar is worth every penny.
I have nothing but praise for this instrument. Apart from the fact that it is the best looking guitar I have ever seen, the build quality, feel, sound and hardware are second to none. The neck is comfortable and fast to play and the Fishman pick ups are as good as all the reviews. My local Luther even commented what an amazing guitar this is and he play a strat!Don't think twice! Buy buy buy!
This guitar plays really easily, the action is low and notes have great sustain. The pick ups give a wide range of tones and sound super clean. The finish is stunning, it looks close to black in some light but has glints of green and purple if light is shined directly on it. The quality control is top notch and I can't find a fault with it. Once the new strings have settled it stays locked in tune.
This guitar is well capable of performing beyond my level. However , I purchased it to expand my capabilities as a guitarist. My heart is in blues, rock and punk rock but I'm a metal fan and want to learn some of my favorite songs. I've had similar models in the past and missed them dearly. Most of my use of it is practicing at hotels with headphones on the road and playing with my son on the weekends. It's still new to me but this thing holds tune like nothing else. Highly recommend.
