Ibanez RG652AHMFX Prestige Electric Guitar Royal Plum Burst
The Ibanez RG652AHMFX RPB Prestige Electric Guitar combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship, with modern technology, to create the pinnacle of shredability and metal tones. An Ash body, finished in Royal Plum Burst, provides an eye-catching aesthetic, which is enhanced by a matching-finish headstock, as well as black hardware and fretboard inlays, contrasting against a Birdseye Maple fretboard. The natural sustain and bright tone of Ash is paired perfectly with a combo of Dimarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone humbuckers. The neck position Air Norton blends power and tone, for a bass and mids-centric, warm, high output humbucker which boasts enhanced sustain, and allows more expressive, and easier to control, pick attack and dynamics. The Tone Zone bridge humbucker is a high output monster, with heavy emphasis on bass and mids, and an enormous dynamic range, which is extremely responsive to your picking power and velocity. With dual-resonance coils, the Tone Zone has rich overtones, which is rare for such a fat humbucker. The RG652AHMFX isn't just looks and tone, it boasts extreme playability that stands up to even the fastest and most face-melting shredding. A 5 piece Maple/Walnut Super Wizard HP neck, combined with a Birdseye Maple fretboard and 24 Jumbo frets gives you buttery comfort, while a set of Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads provide the ultimate in tuning stability (plus they cut down on string-changing time). A hardshell case provides premium protection for your instrument.

Overall:I just received my Prestige but was immediately in love with it. My other guitars include a Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded and a made in Mexico Fender. This guitar is in a different realm entirely. The fit and finish is phenomenal, it sounds great, and it is extremely comfortable to play. It is much lighter than both of my other guitars and it just feels nice. The color is beautiful and the birdseye fretboard really sets it apart. This was my first order from zZounds and I couldn't be more pleased. The guitar shipped the same day I ordered it (not my usual experience with another big box I usually order from), and it arrived on the second day..just great! I'm looking forward to playing this guitar for years to come.

This guitar is, first and foremost, stunning. I purchased the Royal Plumb Burst, but wasn't totally sure what I was getting as availability is limited. I was blown away by its presence once I opened the case, the pictures just don't do it justice. Out of the box there was some set up needed, the action was way too low and buzzed everywhere, the truss rod was also needing a little attention, but this didn't bother me because I knew it had spent a lot of time in another region of the country, with a different climate and had been set up to function there. Once it arrived where I live, everything is different and the wood reacts to this. So a little time was spent setting it up over the first few days. Once it was set up, this guitar out preforms every guitar I've ever owned, from weight to tone. The pick up selection and pick up combo are excellent! This guitar, while geared to shredding, plays some of the best clean tones I've ever heard. It is truly versatile and can fit in to any genre. I suppose the feel of the neck is preference, but once again, I was blown away. The thin, multi-radius, neck profile feels fast as soon as you touch it, and it is... VERY FAST. Overall, this guitar is much more capable than I am and has inspired me every time I've picked it up. You get so much more than what you've paid for here.PS; the Birdseye Maple fretboard, is gorgeous, and the fret ends have been cared for nicely

You can never go wrong with an ash body RG. I've owned well over 100 Rg, jem and S over 25+ years , only 3 Ash. Perfect Japanese craftsmanship as always. The only use for a dimarzio tone zone is an ash body. It drips harmonics once you get the height correct. Buy it , you won't regret it one bit.

Overall:This guitar sounds and plays so smooth. The craftsmanship of it is awesome as well. Definitely worth the extra money to buy a Japan made Ibanez. You will not regret buying this amazing tone machine! Great for all styles of music!
This guitar is definitely amazing! The prestige line of Ibanez are definitely worth the extra money. The build quality hardware and craftsmanship is outstanding. It sounds awesome also!
Overall:I cant count how many purchases i have done with zZounds got to be 20 or more. this is no different than all the rest. Guitar arrived on time packaged well and looks and sounds great.I purchased a blemished model to save a few dollars but for the life of me cant find a thing wrong with the guitar.I wont go into the details of the guitar the other reviews say enough but i will say you cant go wrong dealing with zZounds. Gave a five for manufactures support but never needed it.
After really enjoying playing an RG standard at GC, I decided I wanted a Japanese Ibanez. This guitar is gorgeous. You open up the case and it's a plush red velvet contrasting perfectly with the sexy nebula green burst. It is incredibly easy to play! Has a perfect balance slung over your shoulder or resting on your thigh. They didn't cut any corners with this instrument.Pros:- Black chrome hardware looks slick- Neck very thin and flat. Not just for shredding! Strips of walnut add a touch of elegance. Satin finish makes this a fast neck. Jumbo frets feel great. The birdseye fretboard is gorgeous. Locking tuners are robust. Stays in tune like a boss!- Very clear difference in pickup output from neck to bridge. Stays in tune like a boss!- Very clear difference in pickup output from neck to bridge. Bridge gets nice and dirty when the volume is up- Pickups are a bit hotter than I expected, especially the tone zone in the bridge, but dialing down volume cleans them up very nicely (when you want them to be clean). I'm guessing the hot pickups are for shredders, who are a target Ibanez consumer. The parallel mode is a sweet addition allowing pickup to sound like a single rather than a humbucker- Pickups have dimarzio embossed on them, but it's subtle and not visible from a distance- branding isn't as obnoxious as on seymour duncans- Volume and tone knobs are knurled making them easy to turn with just a touch and resistance is light and smooth. Great gradual effect (doesn't just jump from 100% to 10% when you turn the knob only a tiny bit)- Action can be set super low and bridge is very comfortable to rest your palm. No sharp saddles as on some tune-o-matics- Amazing custom-molded guitar case that looks sexy and has a hard plastic outer shell. Form-fitted for this guitar- Guitar comes with a multi-tool with everything on it, even a short metal scaleCons:- The fret markers are just dots, not inlays- Doesn't come equipped with straplocks- Pickup selector feels cheap compared with the rest of the hardware, but has authoritative action otherwise
Fabulous guitar! If it wasn’t for the fact that it was unplayable when I got it it would be 5 stars.Out of the box the action was well over 3mm at the 12th fret.Since having a full setup it now plays like a dream.
I ordered this guitar in February of 2022, and due to some complications with the "supply chain" as it was said to me, I finally received it in September 2022.As frustrating as that was, it was well worth the wait. This guitar is easily the best playing, best sounding, and most versatile instrument that I have ever owned. Everything about this guitar is flawless, or near to it.While it IS a bit on the expensive side, if you are an experienced and serious player, and want something reliable and suitable for any kind of genre, you can't go wrong with this, or any Ibanez Prestige.
