I plugged into a few amps I know very well (5150 III, Fender Bassbreaker, and the Orange Tiny Terror) and I don't know if I'll ever recover from what I heard. It was such a thick tone when distorted, but made some of the most crisp cleans I've ever heard(push pull is amazing on this guitar as it changes voicings of the pickups). I went home and was disappointed in my collection of guitars as they didn't sound quite as good. The neck is not as thin as most Ibbys I've tried, it's not what I would describe as chunky though. It's just got a good girth to it. The multi-scale on this guitar is extremely comfortable. It looks a bit intimidating, but feels 100% natural while playing.I'll give a more detailed review after I own it for a month or two, but I don't think ... Ordered this as a Christmas present to myself. This was my first multiscale and my first 7 string so I was a little nervous. When it arrived I unboxed it and it looked just like the photo. The purple changes to gray depending on what angle it is which I like alot. It was a little daunting at first but I got used to the multiscale thing very quickly! The neck is smooth so fast licks are easy, no sanding required. Still working on incorporating the extra string in but it's going well. I didn't realize it came with locking tuners, that's a big + to this axe! All in all I very much enjoy having this and fully meets my expectations of a higher end Ibanez!

The guitar arrived thrashed. Oxidation, dirt build up, chips, scratches and even gum on the pick up. This wasn’t a B stock but supposed to be brand new. After I sent it back I was promised that there would be a “hands on” review before the shipment was sent out and a promise that there were a few in stock. Days later not only was one not shipped the day I was told but they were now back ordered. A return was supposedly processed although there still isn’t a record of this. Stuff happens but I was looking forward to this for a year and the whole thing just wasted times on both ends.

Honestly this guitar has become one of my favorites that I have ever played. The neck has a very fine finish so there's no need to worry about any kind of lacquer slowing down your fretting hand, the wood they used is very good quality and built to last, the fishman pickups are a wonderful choice for the chunky low metal riffs and for the resonating cleans. The angled frets are something that took me a bit to get used to but after about a day it felt like normal and is a great edition, and of course the locking tuners and pull out pot are just a great bonus. Honestly I'd say for $1,200 this guitar gives you great bang for your buck, sounds amazing, is absolutely fun to play and I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone wanting a guitar that looks cool, plays ... All my friends I have let play this guitar all feel the same way and have been thinking about getting a guitar like this one cause it definitely kicks some ass!
Overall:This is my second 7 string and I must say that the fanned frets are amazing, the longer scale on my low A string gives me more tension and a better sounding note. The fishman fluence pickups are really great sounding too. They’re really hot active pickups and even with the passive mode they’re still pretty hot. Honestly I can’t hear a big difference between the active and passive mode but it’s there if anyone needs it. There is a big difference on a very clean amp you can hear how much gain the active modes adds. The locking tuners on this guitar are really nice too. I suggest buying the Ibanez roadtour case. Nice guitar needs a nice case
I can't really say how this guitar would handle on the road as touring is out of the picture for the foreseeable future. But, I've been using it to track for a new heavy project I started not long ago and this thing absolutely rips. This is the first guitar I've had with the Fishman Fluence pickups and I love the clarity they have especially with recording. I'm still a fan of Passive's and EMG's. But it's nice to have the option to have them sound passive with the pull of a knob. This guitar is also light as a feather which is a big plus for me and for taking it on tour in the future. I have an LTD SCT 7 that I love but is just incredibly heavy so it doesn't get much standing use.
I own this and its sister 6 string (light blue burst w/ dark edges). They are both incredible guitars, but this one feels just a little better. The feel is out of this world smooth. The neck, fretboard, frets, etc. are butter - it's perfect. The action is low and was perfect out of the box. I've messed around with different strings and tunings and the intonation remains perfect and it stays in tune better than any guitar I've owned. The fishman pups are HOT they're a little hard to tame but sound noticeably better than active emgs when DI recording; it's hard to describe but they're so rich in harmonics and add excitement to recordings. The flat finish is smooth and perfect; I've taken a little guff from band mates about a 'purple' guitar but it's beautiful - ... Overall:If you are in the market for another 7, or even for your first one look no further than this absolute unit. I've owned this guitar for about a year now before giving a review to actually spend some time with it to see if there were any cons, and honestly I can't think of any besides just waiting for it. I am a VERY sweaty player, the matte finish has not faded or "rubbed off yet" which is some issue I've had on other matte finish guitars. The fishmans are insanely clear for an active, the glow in the dark headstock Ibanez logo adds a nice touch, the paint is literally out of this world and changes depending on light. It is the most complimented guitar I have and have used this guitar in B standard all the way down to drop F#, it can literally do it all. The ... Great guitar. Feels great, plays great. My first Ibanez and won’t be my last. I checked the specs so new what I was getting but very happy with my purchase. Looks fantastic
i got this guitar after 1 month. I really like everything and fishman pickups sounds good but but really bad quality control.1) I saw a small crack near the neck, as well as a lot of uneven parts, such as paint.2) these purple lines were painted, they were not drawn evenly.3) it has a lot of rough spots on fret. it's not critical but very unpleasant agree. The good news: The thin neck is comfortable. multiscale 25.5-27 what you can tune low. Worth the price and would recommend to buy.
