I didn't buy this RG from AMS, but I felt like writing a review on it anyways. This is an excellent shredder and screams metal. Great with thick strings and low tunings. Pickups sound good in this guitar, but I do plan on changing them later on because that's just what I do with pretty much every guitar I own. This RG is very well built and worth more than its price. And it is all BLACK. If you're thinking about buying it, go for it!

Clearly there is a lot I don't know about guitars as I am a beginner but what I do know is that this Ibanez guitar is a lot more fun, comfortable and dare I say it, easier to play than the random second hand bargain strat style models I've been using to learn with. You just want to play it all the time and that can only be good for a learner. And it looks badass too.

Arrived waaaay ahead of schedule, no damage, packing was killer, guitar is nothing less than awesome for the price, allot of bang for your buck here. The pick ups are a little too beefy on the low end, for me personally, which can be rectified easily with some eq adjustments. Sits and stands perfectly, no heavy neck drop when youre standing. Has to be the silkiest neck I own, gliding, sliding, is so easy it may take some time to get used to, once you do, its a different world completely. Id recommend it the anyone, any level.

I purchased this guitar as an intermediate player. I had the tech at GC do a set up on it. It looks, sounds and plays great. The workmanship out of he box was very good. Very nice fret work, no sharp edges. Very happy with this guitar. Just keep in mind that to get its full capabilities it will likely need a set up but this is common with most any guitar you buy. I would definitely buy this guitar again.
I have several Ibanez, some of them being slightly on the higher end of the mid-grade lines. I didn't need an inexpensive Ibanez, but the looks of this Gio caught my eye and I had been pining for it for awhile, but everyone was either out or on preorder. When I saw this marked as used and $40 less than the regular price, I jumped on it. I expected some cosmetic wear maybe, since it was used, but when it got here two days after I ordered it, it was still in the original wrapping with the plastic on the pickguard and pickups. I don't think it was ever touched. Everything was set up very well right out of the box. The pickups aren't great, but they aren't bad. The neck and fretboard feel fantastic and the blackout finish of it all is what really sold me. The body is ... The body is polar, so it's a bit lighter and that makes it feel a bit cheap, but it scream and I'm really diggin it. Proaudiostar is 3/3 for me.
This thing is sweet. It's definitely really good for under 300. Recently picked up another guitar that was twice it's price and had 2X the QC issues. There was a few small imperfections in the finish, but not bad really. Very small and you'd have to really look for the problem. The neck is good, a little chunkier than most Ibanez guitars are at top frets near the nut. I'm not a big fan of the pickups but they are decent. I changed the tuning machines to locking tuners, but that wasn't really necessary.I guess my biggest gripe is when I set mine up, the grub screws on the bridge for the saddles stick up quite a bit, and for some, it can dig into their hands. I'd recommend getting shorter grub screws for the bridge. I always find myself picking this thing up because ... MoreThis thing is sweet. It's definitely really good for under 300. Thing is definitely sweet for a beginner or for someone who wants a good jamming guitar that they aren't too worried about.
A great humbucker pickup guitar for beginners. Has great tone and feels smooth to play. Only issue was the action, which was too low when shipped and caused lots of buzzing. Had to increase it by quite a lot to get a good feel - a beginner might not know how to do this.Guitar looks amazing, makes me want to play whenever I look at it.
This is one of the prettiest guitars I have ever seen. I love the look of the matte black with the black inlays, but the prettiest part is the reverse headstock. After the setup, it plays great. It has no buzz as long as you fix the truss rod and fix the action. Ibanez necks have always felt great to me and this one is no exception. Pickups are fine for what you pay for. My only gripe is the screws on the truss rod neck were way to tight and they are so cheap, that 2 stripped out. I had to use a razorblade to cut plastic cover by the screws to get it off. You can't tell it's cut, but that is very annoying. Overall, I still love it and have been playing it a bunch. Definitely recommend it for the price for displaying or playing it!
