I purchased this shirt after doing extensive research into quality clothing and fabric. For me quality craftsmanship and durability is of utmost importance. I had the need to replace my wardrobe with clothing I could rely on, waste less on laundering (or eliminate it), and be comfortable in. The last Merino shirt I tried had overlock stitching right over the shoulders which drove me crazy!To me clothing is just that, it is supposed to clothe your body. Excellent spring/fall merino short sleeve t-shirt. They are a bit too warm for summer. I tend to wear them for longer between washes compared to cotton and other synthetic shirts. It doesn't retain odors and feels clean even after wearing it every day for a week. The I am 6', 170lbs and a medium fits well, snug, but not skin tight.

This top is perfect in terms of fit, feel and warmth. I have loved very minute wearing it. Sadly, after only one month it has already developed a hole under the arm next to the seam. Such a shame that so much comfort couldn't come with better durability. Gutted!

The 200 weight makes an excellent choice for the base layer in shoulder seasons. I use when walking, hiking, kayaking and cycling. The fit is athletic, not too snug. Also good length to the garment. I wear it on its own and at times under a shirt. I am 6' tall, 200lbs and ordered an XL size, perfect. The shirt is warm at a 200 weight, perfect for this time of year. Definitely odour resistant, great on long hikes. It dries very quickly. Will also make a great base layer for alpine skiing this winter.
I had been toying with buying some merino for quite a while but I guess the price was a bit off putting and my usual need for 'value for money's Anyway, I bought a couple of these from Sigma and I've been pretty impressed for the most part.Firstly I went for the XXL as I'm not a body builder and like a fairly loose fit. I would normally go for Large but this would have been a bit too body hugging for me. So, I'm happy with the fit. The '200' weight knit is wonderfully light and the merino itself is super soft. No itchy, scratchiness whatsoever and a real quality feel overall.I'm wearing these as everyday tops / t-shirts and I have to say that even though it's summer they are 'Proper Comfy'. Yes, I do get damp but much less than with the man made stuff and it also dries pretty quickly too.As far as freshness is concerned I can report that it is possible to to swap day to day without washing these and they really don't retain any 'smells' at all. It's not not my usual M.O. but I did it out of curiosity having read about it in other reviews. They do wash up nice on a normal 30 degree cycle. All in all In very satisfied with my purchase. I have since added a few more and no feel that I will be a total Merino Bore (lol)My only negative is that I tend to wear my shirts over my trousers and not tucked in. One of my shirts for those annoying little wear holes that you tend to get from abrasion / rubbing on your belt buckle or metal buttons. If I had paid the full £60 retail price I'd have been a little annoyed but I just take steps to avoid the rubbing now that I'm aware.So in conclusion, I suppose I should just say, Great shirts, merino convert, will buy again and recommend to you all!
This top performed well in every activity and situation I threw at it. It's more versatile weight and more durable than other Merino layers. All in all, a very comfortable base layer with a fit that may run on the smaller side.Good:The 100% Merino wool is stretchy and soft next to the skin.Not so good:If you are on the taller side, the torso could use a little more length
Perfect basae layer for city or rural pursuits. Superior cut, neckline looks good under other layers, or the whole top good by itself. . Great non-scratchy, warm but never hot, easily wearable for a few days at a time, wihthout any whiff. Washes well, dries quickly and lasts for ages. My husband's favourtie T's and the first thing he packs whenever he travels.
I got this for my husband to work out in as he's always complaining about his stinky shirts. He liked this except it was itchy on him. I also bought him a reg t-shirt from Icebreaker and it's not itchy, he loves that one. So maybe it's because it's tighter. It fit him well though, just like it should. He is 6 foot, 200 lbs and fits nicely in a size Large.
Of all my Icebreaker baselayers (200s and 260s, both zone and not zone), the 200-gram/m^2 oasis fabric is the shirt I grab 90% of the time. I have both long and short sleeve oasis crews. I am 6'3", 170 lbs, 41-inch chest, 31-inch waist and I buy all Icebreaker baselayers in medium. For shirts that try to snug up across chest, I put them on wet fresh out of the washing machine and stretch that chest out a bit while fabric is damp. I've found I can also stretch some extra length into damp arms of the long sleeve oasis crews by stretching them damp. I never put these in dryer. I make these shirts work for me. The oasis fabric has the fortitude to be pushed, stretched (while damp), and is a tight-enough weave to resist getting grabbed by tree limbs. If you can get only one Icebreaker for a base layer shirt, I recommend oasis 200 fabric, I recommend them snug, and my experience says to not be afraid to put them on damp and --- not too aggressively --- coerce the damp 100%-merino fabric to mold to your shoulders, chest, and arms. 100% wool has some degree of fit-to-form adaptability if you go about it gently while fabric is damp.
