I love my new icebreaker top. I've been a long-time icebreaker fan, and I know what to expect from their products, but I still like to read some reviews. I was going back and forth about whether I should get it because of the few negative reviews. There has been only one top that it's quality was not the best, and I was afraid this might be the same, but thank goodness I decided to go for it. It's a great top. Perfect for transitioning from winter to Spring in New York City. The only thing I have to mention is that this is not a regular red top, it is a magenta red. I still love it, but at first sight, I was a bit disappointed because I have been wanting a red top for a long time.

Again this is about my third top in this style but different weights/colours over 10 years. And I love them! They last so well, I love the neck line good for temperature changes.... In fact my one regret in life (almost!!!) is I didn't buy a lush purple one a few years back. Unreservedly recommend. The first one I bought lasted 10 years and I eventually gave it to refugee collecting winter clothes as it was still good but I'd moved up from a small to medium in that time.

I spend two months every year on a motorcycle, traveling through foreign lands. I can only bring 5 shirts. Each piece is critically essential. It has to be appropriate for the Alps, the Louvre, the wind chill from the bike and a romantic dinner for two. This Icebreaker Merino 175 makes the cut. It is a winner on all fronts: cozy too! I ❤️ this masterpiece design.

The Icebreaker thermal base layer is exceptional. Its superior warmth and comfort set it apart from other brands. The front zip design is a brilliant feature, making it easy to put on and take off. The stylish design means you can wear it alone when heading outside. I even wear it when flying an airplane-it's incredibly smart and practical. Highly recommended!
I now have 2 of these thermal tops. My first I bought a few months ago for the winter cycle commute to work. I found myself using it so much, I decided to get a second to rotate use. Each can be used for at least couple of days without any problems with odour. Comfortable to wear, and I like the half zip to allow ventilation as needed.I find I can wear this under a waterproof outer shell for moderate cycling for an hour or more without getting cold. If I am less active, a micro fleece works well as a mid layer in addition.
I've been wearing Icebreaker since they first came to the US in the early 2000's, and the sis the first time I've had an issue. I've literally worn out the majority of my pieces but this was different. Within a month it became stiff, itchy, and extremely uncomfortable. Absolutely not what I would expect from Icebreaker. Perhaps there was a fiber treatment that went wrong? Or the quality has just declined that much?
Hi All, i've been using this pair of 260 Tech Merino base layers for about 7 years now. They lasted about 500 plus ski and hiking days in that time. They're soft, comfortable, durable and the quality is perfect. AND, they don't smell, even after all that time, haha. I've just bought my second set as I got a hole in the crutch and the collar got shredded by my neck stubble over the years. I'll keep using them for outside work in the cold though. Just bought the same product and hope I get another 7 years out of these ones. I highly recommend them. Worth every cent. Cheers, Marc
Great warm thermal. I own a couple of similar merino baselayers from different makers and this one from icebreaker could be the warmest (I only tried it on for about 10 min though!) I ended up returning it because the colour didn't quite suit me in person, but I'm planning to get the same style in another colour. I prefer raglan sleeves like smartwool but that's not really a deal breaker. It is true to size with longer length and sleeves. Can't wait to get another colour. I will be wearing it for hiking, cross country skiing, riding a horse, and just about everything else!
