I have been wearing IB for 10 years & I own many pieces from undergarments & base layers to shorts & dresses. I have loved IB & they have been my go-to brand, but I have not been loving IB the past 3 years. I DO NOT like the new styles & cuts. They are boxy, too long, the colours are either too plain or outrageously loud, & the artwork is terrible (ski artwork on a short sleeve t-shirt & a t-shirt reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock "The Birds"). What happened to elegant, stylish & pretty? What happened to timeless style? IB had a wonderful design team; what happened? Ultimately, out of desperation I ordered 2 new t-shirts, because mine were no longer mendable. I was disappointed; the new design of the Tech Lite is terrible. It is no longer a crew neck, but a low crew, which makes it less suitable as a go-to athletic piece that can be worn for outdoor adventures & for casual wear. IB, bring back the original Tech Lite & while you're at it, bring back the 100% merino scoop neck, short sleeve t-shirt.

I bought one in medium about a month ago and fell in love with the material. First merino wool product and I loved the odor rersistant properties and versatility in the summer months. I wanted to purchase a couple more in different colours, a few weeks later, ordering in the same size (M) as the previous one and was extremely disappointed in the size difference. The first M shirt was perfect, not too loose and not too tight, and I ordered the next two expecting the same. Unfortunately both of the next two in different colours were considerably smaller, almost skin tight. This is extremely disappointing considering I was starting to plan for reorganizing my wardrobe around several of these t-shirts and eliminating most of my current cotton t-shirts. I got 2 of the shirts for traveling this summer. I'll be doing some backpacking and some mountain climbing. Washing facilities will be limited. So far so good! The material is light, soft against my skin, and as a true merino, it doesn't stink easily. I've been wearing them at home to test them out. I have not put them in the dryer but have just hung them up to dry. Very versatile and I'm happy with my purchase! The only thing I possibly should have done differently was to get them in medium. I bought large but they do stretch out a bit after a couple days of wearing. Style won't be a big deal in the mountains, but they are nice enough to wear to dinner. Medium would have been a more flattering fit. 5'4", 140 lbs, 61 years old.

This t-shirt is very light, soft and comfortable. The Loden colour is a touch lighter than it looks in the photos, though it is still a nice green tone. The weave of the fabric has a nice, subtle texture to it. The fit is a bit on the bigger side, so if you are hesitating between two sizes, I would go with the smaller size (unless you prefer a very baggy, relaxed fit). The odour-resistant properties and breathability of the merino wool would make it great for travel and hot weather, though it is great as a base layer for winter / colder weather wear as well.
This is a great shirt. I know I'm only giving it three stars. Maybe that's not fair, but it's because I sent it back. I'm sure it's a 5 star shirt for someone else. It just was shapeless in a way that I found unflattering on my body. The material was great. It was light and seemed like it would have been good for the heat. I love light 100% Merino shirts for outdoor exercise and for hot days when I'll be sweating a lot. But, it just wasn't shapely. I have some V-Neck shirts from Woolly Clothing Co that are more flattering for my body. I imagine that this shirt would be fine for someone with a suitable body type. I'm sorry I can't give more detail about what that body type would be. I wish that icebreaker made a 100% wool ultralight T-shirt with a scoop neck or a ... MoreThis is a great shirt. I like Merino wool shirts and have several. This is my second Icebreaker t-shirt. I like the fabric but the sizing runs large. I ordered a Medium because the size chart says that is the size for a chest measurement of 36-39 inches. My chest is 40 inches, and the shirt has a very "relaxed" fit. I'm going to try a small and exchange for it if it fits better. If they are going to make their shirts on the "fits large" side, they should adjust the size recommendation chart to reflect the reality of the sizing. Very frustrating!
This shirt could be the worst product that Icebreaker makes! I purchased two of these as part of my corporate work wear. The cut is simply uncomfortable at the best of times. The arms feel like they are in the wrong spot. The collar looks shabby after being washed, and dried correctly with manufacturers specs.I had a 2XL previously, and I purchased 2 3XL's thinking they would give me a little more room. They did, but in the wrong spots. This is not a shirt I would purchase again. I love all my other Icebreaker Merino Wool shirts.
5’9 170lbs. I live in these. Slightly larger than previous generations, but I have broad shoulders and the mediums were always a little tight there so I’d size up to large. My strategy with old old (chest logo) Tech Lites revolved around sizing up, as they somehow always ended up in the dryer and sort of shrinking to size. However the last generation Large I bought didn’t shrink very much when I put it in the dryer even on purpose…maybe they pre shrink the wool now? So back to the drawing board. This time I sized back down to a medium, and they fit more or less fine as a more fitted undershirt, but still with bit of drape. The Oasis is for dorky, painted on warmth but has its place. Hopefully they don’t end up in the dryer and are more robust, as I’ll wear to ... More5’9 170lbs. I live in these. I love Icebreaker and use my merino wool clothing for rigorous outdoor use. I have many products and take care of them properly. The Tech Lite II is still a good shirt but it really doesn't compare well to the previous Tech Lite model. The fit is much more loose fitting, which for technical outdoor use I think is a negative. The quality also seems a bit worse, as I've been running the older Tech Lite tees for years (3-4+) and the Tech Lite II doesn't seem to last a season without micro holes or full rips. Again, I take good care of my equipment and take the exact same care of both types. One is holding up great, the other not so much.I will always be a customer but I would really appreciate going back to the old style. I will buy many if so...
Tech Lite III is here and I was excited to try it out to see how it feels. Being 100% merino, this functionality and these benefits are what it's all about - comfortable, breathable, temperature regulating, no stink. The cut is still fairly comparable to the recent Tech Lites - boxy (especially in the lower torso) and a touch short in length - which may work well, depending on the individual. My main issue for me personally is when I reach my arms above my head, my lower stomach up to above my navel is showing (again, for me personally). I may be in the minority, but I am a fan of the older, more athletic Tech T Lite cut/dimensions. This new version III is still without the logo/branding which I think is awesome in this particular case-looks very clean/sleek and ... MoreTech Lite III is here and I was excited to try it out to see how it feels. All in all, I certainly recommend this shirt, whether it's for everyday wear, travel wear, or even active wear. It is a go-to for me in all of these areas! The fit will obviously vary per each individual, so definitely worth trying out!
