Best Underwear Ever!

I have been telling friends about these underwear for years! I have been using these for 5 plus years and they are just now starting to wear out prompting me to buy a few new pairs. They are moisture wicking, smell resistant and durable. They are not scratchy at all. Very soft and comfortable to wear all year round. I only wish they offered larger sizes. I am 180lbs and 5'11" and wear an XL. Would like to see more inclusive sizes from Icebreaker!

Comfy, a little small

I prefer the hipkini style when it comes to fit & comfort, this one runs a little small even considering the Icebreaker brand runs small & having sized up. It fits, but is a little snug and hoping it’ll stretch with wear. Barely covers my butt and has to be positioned perfectly or it’s hanging out a bit. Also tight in the leg seams, which can be uncomfortable after awhile. I’m 5’1” 120 lbs athletic build, ordered a medium. Do have some hip & glute curve considering my size but nothing other brands/styles can’t cover. I think upsizing to a large would’ve been too much, so sizing is awkward for this style.

Great fit and fabric

Got them on sale and wear them all the time. Work, gym, camping they see it all. Really cuts down on sweat and bad smells. Also, as a white chick I thought the color would be weird on me (again I got them on sale so I wasn’t expecting them to be the best of the color choices) but I actually really love it. My usual mediums fit like a dream. I also like the smartwool bikini but the icebreaker hipster had too much material in the front hip to be comfortable under clothes. I usually wear hipster cuts so I started with that but tried the bikini on sale and really love it.

No itch, No stink, No wedgie underwear for all
2 August 2022

I know what you’re thinking. Wool underwear?!? Listen….these are my go to unders, especially in the heat of summer. Why? Well aside from being soft, NOT ITCHY, extremely comfortable, wedgie free, and excellent quality…..they’re wool which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. What does that mean for you? Well, they don’t stink no matter how eh……“swampy” you get.Who are these underwear for?People who like being outdoorsyPeople who like being indoorsyPeople who like being hotPeople who hate being hotPeople who are really into “mall walking”People who play professional ping pongPeople who like long walks on the beachPeople who like cats (or dogs)People who are currently alivePeople who…….well, you get the picture.

Poorly made and huge change on pattern shape
26 July 2021

I have some of these exact briefs from a previous year and love them. I really wish that Icebreaker could be consistent with its patterns from year to year. Buying the exact same size and style, you would think they would be the same, but they are not. This year's model are really disappointing. They are cut much narrower through the crotch, which is uncomfortable, and they are much lower (at least 4 cm) in the rise, so they are constantly slipping down and I have to pull them up. If you are going to make changes like this on a pattern, then please give the item a new name (e.g., Siren Brief Version 2) and note the changes in the description. Particularly for a garment like underwear that you cannot just try on and then return. On top of that, the pair I got are so poorly made that one leg elastic is at least 1 cm shorter than the other. This adds a twist to the fabric as it contorts it and makes it even more uncomfortable on top of the pattern changes. The colour (Redwood) is nice, but these are overall a big no from me and a waste of money.

Redesign is awful
14 September 2023

These used to be my unicorn underwear - perfect fit, lightweight, dried quickly, durable (especially for wool, and flattering. I have pairs that I've used for heavy-duty activities for years and years that are still in good shape. However, the most recent iteration uses far less fabric, especially on the hip portion, so now the fit is way off and far skimpier. I wish I had bought more of the old version. Please bring it back!!

Sizing seems very small
4 February 2023

I really like these for what they are - merino wool underwear that dry super fast. I got them to wear when running & they've been great for that. I ordered medium based on the size chart & reviews, but the edge banding is still tight enough that I'm not sure I will not be wearing these under hiking pants - which feels like their true purpose. I am 5'2"/130 with an average butt. I kept the medium because I usually drop weight in the summer so maybe they won't be super diaper butt then. I'd say the sizing is equivalent to a Victoria's Secret medium but the edge banding is the problem.

The best underwear EVER.
2 January 2022

This is my 3rd purchase of this underwear model from IceBreaker. I now own 9 pairs of this underwear, which is enough to say that I really like it. It's very small, comfortable, great for all seasons (yes, including hot summers), and all sports activities. Fast wicking, doesn't show through your clothes, but most of all: it doesn't disintegrate after a few washes, like most other underwear out there. It's really well made and after one year of wearing and washing it looks brand new. I hand dry mine, which I do with most of my clothes anyway. For those of you worried that wool would be itchy, have no worries at all. It's super soft and comfortable.

Updated fit = saggy bum/ rides up
5 July 2022

These used to be my go-to underwear for hiking and became my dailies but they have changed the fit and they are nearly a size larger for a Small (i.e. small now = medium before the update). They were passable for daily wear but I went on an extended hike and they were all over the place; the waistband crawled up, I was frequently adjusting them; not at all the 'I forgot I had them on' experience I had with the version made ~1 year ago (maybe 1.5?). Although my shape hasn't changed between versions and I'm a small on the size chart I'm going to try downsizing (xs) and see how they perform on a hike if they aren't too small off the bat. I won't get my usual size again and may give up on this style if the xs don't work. I'm sad!

for camping, or long shifts at work!
10 January 2023

These are my new go-to for any sweaty/stinky endeavors. Tour du mont blanc? Just had two pairs and alternated washing them in the shower with me each night. Flying international? Wasn't stinky and forgot to change until the next day. 24-shifts at work? The only underwear to not make me feel gross by the end of the shift. The only odd thing was the S maroon fit like the M black. But not a deal breaker at all!
