I've had the same pair of icebreaker leggings for 6-7 years and honestly believe it is the #1 most important winter layer anyone could own. Icebreaker leggings have specifically held up significantly better than competitor brands in regards to durability and longevity. I've worn my same pair of leggings ice climbing, fat biking, snowboarding, standing around at winter races, and even just under jeans casually (most days a week) in fall-spring. They never smell, and the mesh-y part that's specific to these active leggings really ventilate and keep you dry when you're sweating. I am 5'2" 155lbs and curvy/ athletic build and the large fit well. The inseam was a good length - not a ton of extra length for minimal bunching inside socks, but still a full length for the ... MoreI've had the same pair of icebreaker leggings for 6-7 years and honestly believe it is the #1 most important winter layer anyone could own. I bought the leggings for later in the winter because I have such a hard time keeping warm when it's really cold. I have not worn these leggings yet; it isn't cold enough yet. I know I'm going to be warm because I love my Icebreaker 150 leggings. I do wish you would offer different leg lengths; these are long on me, other than that I really love them. I highly recommend these leggings.

I'm loving these so far - I was worried they might be itchy (I ordered the 200 leggings to compare and found them too itchy to walk around in) but wore them all day yesterday under sweats at home and looser jeans when I was out and about and they kept me warm! Fabric wise I'm one of those people who pretty much only buys soft clothes/cuts the tags out of things, so I'm glad I've found high quality wool thermal underwear that I can see myself wearing most days. Fit wise I feel like these could be a little more snug in the hips/waist area (I'm 5'10 and 130 lbs), but I was pleasantly surprised that these fit well through the legs (not too tight) and are long enough. They aren't exactly baggy in the hips, the fit just feels a little strange at first, but maybe all long ... MoreI'm loving these so far - I was worried they might be itchy (I ordered the 200 leggings to compare and found them too itchy to walk around in) but wore them all day yesterday under sweats at home and looser jeans when I was out and about and they kept me warm! In comparison to the BodyFitZone Merino 260, these feel only like a beefy pair of tights. I bought both the 150 and 260 and decided to return these in favor of the higher thermal value in the 260. Consequently, while I appreciate the free returns and supposed ease of returns (label, UPS drop-off), after 30 days of Icebreaker receiving the product back, I still hadn't received my refund. Had to call up to chase it down. Excellent products, slipping on the CX side of things.
Really sad about these. I had a pair of Icebreaker merino leggings I bought in 2013 that I wore until I forgot them in a gym locker in 2019. They were amazing and went on many an expedition with me.I got another pair in 2019 for a month long through hike in the Sierra Nevadas. Holes. I thought it was the style I bought, so I went back to the original with this purchase. 1 month of wearing them just under clothes while bicycling to and from work. Two holes in the butt.
Wore these in two colors on a 10-day trip in December to the Netherlands to walk around towns and christmas markets and they performed fabulously! Only washed once mid-trip. During very damp days I layered a lighter weight tight under but otherwise I chose to wear under a quilted puffer skirt with wool sneakers. The warmth was great for chilly damp streets yet not too stiffling when we'd go indoors to shops or trains. These are the gold standard for softness and comfort AS WELL AS MACHINE WASHABILITY. Nothing holds up long term like my ice breaker leggings and other clothes - the knit is so superior!
There is not a single thing I would change about these leggings. My first pair finally gave up on me this winter after 8 years of absolutely punishing use. I plan to patch them with another, even older Icebreaker garment and keep wearing them though. The old pair survived hostel hot water washings and an accidental commercial dryer on heat high enough to kill bedbugs. I wore them up mountains, in a desert, and through many cold damp Scottish nights. They were my primary leg-covering for a December trip to Iceland and kept me warm and cozy.Medium was perfect size for me(5'7", 130lbs, 28" waist, 38.5" hips)
Havent used this out in the field so no comment to warmth or durability, but tried these leggings against the Oasis style and these ones are SO much more comfortable. The fabric is a lovely soft thick jersey knit that feels smooth against the skin. The Oasis stye was quite scractchy and thin in comparison.|Fit is generous. I'm over 6FT and the XL are lovely and long enough to bunch up at the ankles slightly. I have wide hips and these are loose/stretchy enough that i could probably go down a size for a snugger fit, but from experience Icebreaker 100% merino will shrink slightly on the first wash so am definitely sticking with the XLLike all the legging styles, these come up to just sit on the hips - i feel they were slightly higher than the Oasis ones. Really wish Icebreaker would make their leggings an inch or so higher. When you need this much warmth on the lower body, you really want the fit to feel generous and cosy and have it cover your belly and close up any gap above your jeans - not feel like you have to keep pulling them up. Higher cut leggings can be folded down if somoene wants a bare midriff, but these lower cut leggings cant be pulled up to the waist. Please take note icebreaker and change the cut! Also most jeans/trousers these days are in fashion to sit high on the waist, so it just feels weird to have thermals that dont reach up to the height of your trousers.Just want to add one note about the packaging: well done Icebreaker for sending these out in plastic free packaging, just brown cardboard boxes with cut out windows. bravo~!!
I pick up a couple of these very year or so for my wife. She wears them as a dedicated base layer under hiking trousers and also under dresses for warmth (and modesty) and also for lounging around the house. They seem to work perfectly for all these options. The fit is spot on and shapes very well. Cant see them under trousers, look smart under a dress/skirt and not bad at all on their own either. We have tried a few very similar (cheaper) versions from other well known and respected brands, however something is always 'off' with them whether it be fit/shape/comfort/longevity etc so we just stick with these now. The old adage 'you get what you pay for' holds up well here.
Love Icebreaker 260 thermal leggings. I have an older style that are thicker and a much more softer material. Unfortunately I returned these ones. I highly recommend Altitude Sports Membership as returns are simple and greatly appreciated 😊
