As other reviews have said, the installation of this was as challenging as any flat-pack furniture I've encountered (the final steps definitely required two people). However, I've now had this cabinet in my entryway for over a year, and it is sturdy, stylish, functional, and in perfect condition despite heavy use. I recently hosted friends on two consecutive nights, and each time I was asked where I got this cabinet because they thought it would work great in their place. If you're willing to commit to the elbow grease at the outset, the Idasen cabinet is well worth it. Possibly my all-time best IKEA purchase.

I purchased this cabinet to use as a coffee/tea bar in my living room. I read the reviews before purchasing it so I knew that some had struggled with aligning the doors or some holes are not pre-drilled. I found the assembly instructions to be clear and straightforward. There are easy to follow instructions for aligning the doors so that wasn't an issue for me. I used E-6000 glue for metal to put together the drawers that didn't have the pre-drilled holes. After applying the glue, I clamped the pieces and let the glue dry for an hour before proceeding with the rest of the installation. I only used one shelf so that there was enough room for a mini fridge for creamer. I would recommend this product to a friend. Very chic, clean looking.
So I definitely checked out the reviews ahead of time as I’m a single female who planned to assemble this by myself. Having prepared mentally for difficulties with assembly, I was surprised that it came together pretty easily, though took a couple of hours (I accidentally used the wrong screws on one section and had to redo it). Like another reviewer, I’m using it for shoe storage and it is infinitely nicer than the stacked shoe racks I had before. It does scratch easily, but not gouged out scratches, just little ones you see at an angle when the light hits it just right, versus looking at it head on. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it so far and the green is lovely.

The drawer sits very crooked and there is nothing you can do to fix it. I tried calling customer service and was told that the store I bought it from would call me in 2 days to arrange to have a new unit delivered and pick this one up. That didn’t happen, so I called again today and was told that what the first person told me was only true if I bought it online but because I bought it in a store I would have to return it to the store (which is 2 hours away). I have multiple pieces from IKEA all throughout my house and I have never had an issue with any of them. But this has been a horrible experience, and I will NEVER ... Love the design and the storage options this cabinet gives you but holy heck is it a pain to assemble. About halfway though the difficulty takes a complete nosedive when assembling the drawers and doors. Parts are way to flimsy and don't line up properly when building the drawers. It's easier to build them in reverse. And good luck finding a screwdriver skinny enough because you'll be putting in screws that are almost flush against something else. I like the product and the looks of it but how it assembles needs some serious redesign.
When loading the two boxes for assembly the thought was this is very heavy. It makes sense however because it’s well-built it’s all metal. The assembly process I was told was going to be one of the more challenging ones. Lol I’m very happy to say that I was able to complete the assembly with no glitches whatsoever. My only recommendation is if you could come up with some type of hard plastic twisting mechanism to bend the metal tabs, instead of a screwdriver.

Like all the other reviews, I agree that assembly was very confusing. Definitely use two people to assemble the drawers or else they will keep collapsing and be sure they are in place before pushing metal tabs in. The doors on ours are also not lined up perfectly at the top which is very annoying. All in all though this is beautiful and I love it. It also holds way more than I expected which is great. Would not go return it/glad I bought it but I really wish it cost less for how annoying it was to assemble. For the price point maybe would've considered a similar product from a different brand. Giving it four stars though because I really do love it and the color is beautiful.
