I have been listening to cds for 40 years, 15 years ago I went back to records for better sound, I still play cds for background sound. This dac makes the cd listenable, detail, depth, Soundstage it's all there. Still not as good as vinyl, but still good!
The ifi Zen One Signature dac is the complete package with 3 inputs including USB,s/pdif,and optical. The s/pdif can be used as an input or output depending on selection. A pair of analog RCA outputs and a 4.4 balanced pentaconn output which I'm running into my balanced Zen Can. Sound quality is top notch, warm and detailed at the same time. Lovely. The Bluetooth section of the Zen One is also of the highest quality and this unit is highly recommended.

Sound quality from the burr brown chip is phenomenal and really makes my headphones sound better than the top tier ESS/AKM chips I've used previously. I was absolutely blown away by the MQA decoding feature on the Zen One. Previously, I was using Apple Music lossless but switched the Tidal to check out if there was any difference between ALAC and MQA. The difference in clarity and depth was so great between the two that I immediately switched to Tidal and stopped using Apple Music. Just make sure you install ifi's drivers and configure Tidal to interface correctly with the DAC and you're golden. Wasn't until I purchased this item that I realised I needed another two ifi components to achieve what I wanted....Not a lot of use to me as it is.
Replaced my Schiit Bifrost 2. I have not looked back. More upper detail with the same fleshy midrange. Stunning good looks and very compact. Amazing for the money. Soundstage is wide with layered depth. I’m just not seeing the reason to spend thousands on a dac these days when a product like this exists.
I already own an iFi stack (Zen One Signature and Zen Can) and absolutely love it. Well, my brother is starting to get into headphones and I had him try out my stack. He was blown away with it and the Meze 109. He's starting out with a 6XX and I bought him this Zen One Signature from HeadAmp for his birthday. Amazing product that sells itself with one listen.
