IK Multimedia iKlip 3 Deluxe Universal Mic Stand Support & Camera Tripod Mount For iPad

Not designed for any other Tablet computer except an Ipad. I felt it was very over priced for what it is and does not hold the Lenova Android tablet I have securely at all. I would hope the quality was reasonable, but $149!! There are better options out there. Suggest taking in your tablet to the shop to try it out rather than just buy online.

A superior product!

I'm surprised how well made this device is, it reminds me of my Manfrotto camera tripod. I needed something to hold my 12" iPad on my music stand and this works perfectly. I spent the extra 10 bucks for the deluxe version because it comes with the tripod mount. Well worth it!

Ball mount very weak.

Most of unit is well built. Unfortunately, the ball heads are frustrating to use and cannot be tightened enough to hold tablets from slipping. This is the same problem with iPad 12.9, tab s7+, and even the tab s7.

Better than most, but not quite there for pro application.

Not a bad product, just not the right fit for my iPad Pro 11" (With or without the case). As a live performing musician, I play all over the place 3-5 gigs/week... clubs, weddings, outdoor festivals, tours etc. I Was hoping this mount would be the right solution, as I think its a well thought out device for the price point. Unfortunately I felt like my iPad will (in a short amount of time) come loose or start to shake its way around in horizontal position. I also don't like the spring loaded squeeze style grip of the iKlip3 on the ipad. I'd prefer choosing myself how tightly I need to clamp my iPad down on stage between my keyboards and percussion setups, normally on a heavy and sturdy mic stand, or a boom arm clamped to my drum hard ware. People complaining about the ipad shaking on stage?, well... you must be putting on a fun show. Thats the price you pay having energy, so upgrade to heavier bases for your mic stands or look into clamps to mount to something stable and/or secure. The deluxe package for the iKlip came with great accesories for multiple mounting options and a brief description of some optional use cases. I use IK products and software daily, so I don't knock this company one bit. This just isn't as great of a fit as I'd hoped for for my live performances needs. Most people I believe will find this iKlip better than most of the competition out there.

Difficult to lock in place

I bought this for my 11 iPad Pro. The ball-head mount cannot be tightened enough to permit the iPad to stand vertically, but rather, it droops down, proving once again: gravity is more than a good idea, it's the law.I contacted the manufacturer more than a week ago and have yet to receive a reply.

Good design with one flaw

This new iKlip design is different, and more universal than my previous one, but it holds my iPad very securely. I like the size and shape which fits more conveniently in my gig bag. I bought the deluxe kit which includes a top-mount holder and that's what I'm using at the moment. The con is that the top mount holder droops if I try to set my iPad perpendicular to the floor (i.e. parallel to the stand) no matter how tight I compress the socket. The flaw is that the ball of the clip is not a complete sphere and you lose friction from the socket at certain angles. Works great now, but I would suggest that the iKlip folks create a simple silicon rubber plug for the ball to solve the problem.

Great product

Bought this as I needed to upgrade tablet from Ipad 2nd gen, to 12.9 inch Pro. Already had an iKlip for the smaller iPad and this was really good so when it came to a bigger option with the new Tablet it was a no brainer. Excellent product which grips the tablet, even with a case on it. Theprovided mounts, mic stand or tripod are pretty heavy duty and appear excellent quality. Overall great design and would definitely recommend it for anyone wishing to support a tablet up to 12.9 inches.

I'm looking for a replacement. Not well designed.....

Flashy look, Great concept. Needs to go back to the product development team and finish creating a product that is sturdy and functions properly all the time. Feels like they rushed it to just make money.

Nice, but not what I was looking for.

This item is very nice, lightweight, and will work great for most people. Comes with, both a clamp to attach it to the side of a mic stand and a threaded post to attach to the top of a mic stand (where you would attach a microphone holder). I was hoping to use this for my Surface Book screen, but the screen size is to large to fit. It will work it Surface Pro and iPads or iPad Pros, but not with the Surface Book.

Seems Just About Perfect

I got this for a new iPad Pro 12.9 for doing videos etc.It seemed there were not a whole lot of other similar items offered.It is very substantially built and engineered (and made in Italy) and the components seem made to last. It seems quite versatile although I have not tried it in all the applications it shows that it’s made for.A couple of negatives but not a deal breaker so far; I expected the ball swivel component to function and tighten a little more easily and successfully. They give you a threaded ring to tighten up the ball swivel joint but it seems as though it can only be tightened so far and then that’s all you get. Although this may be accomplished more successfully with more use, it was a little frustrating that it wasn’t more trouble free from the start.One more thing; with a product that seems so substantial with engineering to go along with it, I am also frustrated with how tricky the actual clip that holds the device is to operate. There is nothing other than the pieces of the clip itself to try to grab when you are mounting the device into the clip making one really test their improvisational skills to spread the clip while still holding onto and trying not to drop the device and then get the device to fit where it needs to in the clip so it’s secure and then releasing the clip while still securing the device and trying not to pinch the skin on your fingers in the process if you get my drift?! - It seems that with just a bit more plastic and minor engineering some small tabs or wings could’ve been placed in strategic places to allow one handed opening of the clips while the device is held in the other hand and put into position while the clip is released. - Minus that - it is really almost an easier two person affair. Once again maybe there is something I’m missing and it will become easier with use but so far this has been the experience. I’ve used it several times though and it has functioned as I needed it to - so hence, only the 4 stars instead of five but I DO like the substantial build and versatility it is designed for.A perhaps somewhat involved review for a simpler item but I know that folks like to know these things!Good luck & Cheers!
