IKEA - BRIMNES Headboard with Storage Compartment, White Full/Double

I have Malm dressers in the master bedroom and looked everywhere for just a well made white headboard. I have an adjustable bed and did not need a frame. I went to local furniture stores, IKEA, and scoured the internet, but nothing seemed to fit the bill. I became tired of looking and went back to IKEA to look at the Brimnes headboard since it was not attached to a frame. The bookshelves were not of interest to me, as I wanted flat headboard. But we bought it thinking that maybe we could remove the shelves. It was heavier, sturdier, and better made than we expected. Putting it together was a bit challenging. The actual Brimnes bed frame is a terrible product. This headboard is the only redeeming feature, in fact. Our bedroom is quite small and doesn’t have space for nightstands, so we got a bed with a headboard that could function as one. The bed has since splintered into pieces, and has been discarded, but this head board. I am still in love with it. It functions perfectly, gives us plenty of space to put our electronics/glasses/water, and our cats can walk behind our bed because of the tunnel-like shape the bottom has (which they love to do). even after replacing the bed frame, we kept this head board. I don’t think it will travel well, but it works perfectly for what we needed. (Oh, and I put the headboard together alone, so it’s actually not that bad!)

We waited five months for this piece to come back in stock, and our teen is so happy to have it. It complements the Brimnes storage bed, adding a handy place for a lamp and other small items without needing a separate bedside table. There is a channel to run charging cords for electronics. The headboard is tall enough to rest against but not so high to overwhelm a small room.
